as an asian student. am i gonna get a lot of trouble here? I've read so many amazing things, yet i've read loads of thrash about it. but people from manchester usually love it to bits.
@ericcartmanC nah jus do ya thing an never back down we frm here 2 its multicultural no1 fuks wid any1 cuz thy dnt know who's who an its awl good trust
I'm from Manchester and I don't have any troubles. I love living here! I have relatives in London and I go there twice a year and I can honestly say that Manchester is a much better place.
@tassie961 Why ? I am planning on going (first time in UK ) .I want to start there then to London . I am from Miami BTW . I know Mancunians always bash London .Have to see for myself I guess !
@muttilo The people are better :D, plus we are home to the best football and cricket teams ever ;) Man United and Lancashire CCC :) I love my city, theres always something to do, but i guess its all personal opinion, i also like London, but i still (for some reason) love Manchester more :D
Yeh, i live in Salford, in West Manchester, and theres the odd bit of trouble, but round where i live, worsley, theres hardly any trouble at all. I have a lot of civic pride in Manchester, and i'm proud of all the new buildings we no have here. If anyone wants to come and visit they're welcome to, lol!
@kisstv1 Nice word association that. Will give you that and 10/10. Its just that I wasoriginally from Middy(North East Manc) which was 100th of Salford and as only Middy counts in my book Salford is east haha-just playing. Regards
Can i just ask the uploader of this vid if they live in Manchester? and what it's like.
I have heard loads of horror stories about the chav gangs ect. But i was thinking about moving their to pursue a career when i leave school. Just doing a bit of background work really.
There are good and bad places in every city. Manchester has a gang reputation but it is not as bad as the media makes it out to be. There are chavs in every city.
It's still the coolest city on the planet. More vibrant than Liverpool, friendlier than London and Birmingham? We won't even go there.
Try coming up for a weekend and seeing for yourself, I've lived & worked here for 15 years and I enjoy it.
I'm from Ireland, but currently living in the UK - in Manchester, for uni reasons. The main city area including that in which I live is as safe as you could want.
There's always the odd bit of trouble that you hear about, but it's like any city really.
There's no gang wars or any of that rubbish, just the odd residential area around the outskirts where stupid adolescents feel some inherent need to protect their patch.
Just ignore them, and the city is as good as you could wish it to be.
I've lived in Manchester my entire life and I love it :D

Wow thats a great help. Thanc for taking the time to reply.
So it's not that dangerous or anything then? I don't want to move there and be afraid or looking over my shoulder all the time.
Are the gangs a big problem in Manchester?
I mean i am from Cornwall and we have none of that down here. I have lived a very sheltered life up until now =].
I really appreciatte you helping me out thanks.
