  • 50? roooofllll! way tooo high!

  • lol, i see some ppl trying to get the lowest price from vendors but came back to buy at the higher price.

time changed, more customers came, price increase...WALLA!!!

  • The host wearing an orange shirt is MILDLY gay :D

  • You could have gone 1/2 price, If they say no, just walk away. They will come after you and accept your offer. I've been to all the Asian countries and it always work 2 out of 3 times.

  • NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER buy jewelry from a street shop because 96% if not all is not real! I was in Los Cabos Mexico and got (what I thought) was two Sterling Silver braclet... they even pulled out this fancy weight device to determine the price of the braclet via weight... I bought them both got home and went to a jewerly store and was told they both are "coated" with silver! I was pissed and a lesson on my behalf!

  • expert my ass whats the point on getting the seller to agree with your price and FUCKING WALK AWAY!?! stupid stupid stupid the real way to negotiate is to say a very low price you could've said 45 then go higher and the seller would be like ok take it for 50$

  • wow how cheap are you? ur not saving that much money and for fuck sakes they're just poor people give them a break, a can see negotiating a price for something bigger but not a tshirt.

  • That was a horrible negotiation! I went to China - Beijing once and went in to a little boutique that was selling fake designer items (polos, shirts etc). They started off with 150 RMB ~ 25 USD. After half an hour of arguing, pretending to leave etc. I bought 6 for 20 RMB each ~ 5 USD.

    Tip: Foreigner = Shark food

My guess is she got the bracelet for no more then 5$. I'm not kidding here.

  • u cud have gotten it down to 35. With bargaining the most difficult thing is to judge the initial offer that u can make without insulting the other person. Cos the initial offer sort of represents the minimum that u r willing to pay for the product. Set too low and the vendor dismisses u, set too high and the vendor has the opportunity to raise it higher and increase his profits. Best bet is to ask him whats his best offer and take it from there, or ask around at various places for 10 mins.

  • "verry good prrice fo u heheheheheheheee"

  • OK, rip-off just happens in Cambodia and Laos. So come to Vietnam for your tour, you would have the true price for whatever you purchase!

  • In cambodia, the vendors usually jack up the price by 200%. Exspecially when they see foreigner.Example $10 value, sell at $30. Mostly in phnom penh. alway bargain half the asking price and walk away. 95 percent of the time they will call you back to buy.Phnom Penh vendors stop robbing foreigners, have some shame and pride.Give them a fair value like the local people.

  • u cant beat vendors.. u think u get a good price.. but they will always make atleast 60%+ profit..

if u walk away.. there are plenty of other shoppers they can fool into buying it.. so.. all those stuff they still made alot of profit.

  • there is nothing wrong with negotiating, but when you agree on the lower price, it is very insulting to then say you are going to walk away. if you want to do it that way, keep saying that it is too much or that you will come back later, but when they take money off and you say "OK", that is to be understood that you agree to that price as well.

  • she got ripped off on the bracelet. Gold is bought by weight and purity.

I also think its not worth bartering over a little amount of money.. just pay the extra you can afford it.

  • this woman is useless mate, she like smiles when shes bargaining..if i was da seller i would think that shes tryna take da piss out of me wit dat sly smile nd i would try hustle her even more and she looks uncertain like she doesnt know the real value of the shit, u gotta put on a staunch face when dealing wit people and act as though u know wat ur talkin about, u dont say ohh thats expensive either cos thats like insulting the seller , dis aint a how-to lesson more like a wat not to do

  • Socrates, will you give me a break. It is hilarious that you, in the full bloom of propriety, seek to moralize about Americans who have far more in common with the people on the other side of the counter than any beer guzzling, repressed asshole from Great Britain. Look what you dick wads have done to Tuscanny, the Coast of Spain and Greece. Get a life, you post Imperialist wanker.

  • if you truly want to learn every aspect of the retail auto industry go to "dont fear the dealer" for 30 bucks they teach you just as much as any person in auto sales, or probably more! by far the best investment i've ever made!

  • It true. I am a Cambodian Living in Canada. I have been in Siem Riep, Phnom Penh, And Battambang many times. You have to bargain. Because they try to rip you off. Alway bargain at 50% less the asking price.

  • i was in mexico and this guy was trying to sell me tequila glasses for 20$ a pop! I was really offended and was about to walk away so he clung on. So I jokingly said 4 for 20$, and to my suprise he said okay. Some vendors really try to rip you off.

  • I agree with SOCRATES012. I could not be bothered buying something like that. If you do it for sport at the expense of these people's lifestyle, THEN GET A LIFE.

  • Im from the England i think its disgusting these americans go over and try and out negotiate what little money these asians have available to take home as profit just so we can have another little toy or piece of memorabilia around the house. Grow a fucking conscience you greedy fucks!

  • If you took the words 'England' and 'Americans' out of your comment you would then just seem slightly dumb but for a moral reason but as it stands you seem ignorant and dumb.

  • This video was silly. Socractes, you're silly too - You should go to Cambodia and pay exactly what people ask for when you go to market. I'm sure it'll make you feel great about yourself.

  • "Morning Price" in Cambodia is called "Kow Chai" which they sell cheap price for good luck in sales. Good video, especially bargaining with the Gold bracelet. I'm Cambodian and I get really tired of bargaining, it requires a lot of patience and good acting skills.

  • NO NO NO.......If they say 18, you say 3 or 4. If you don't get it tops 5, walk away.

  • Always be prepared to walk away. As long as you are, you have the advantage. Never give up the advantage.

  • not doable in the states people arent so desperate to sell

  • ahah u guys are ridiculous! I went to China and i learned a rule. If the selles says 30, say 10, and stick with it. Do this if he looks honest. If he doesn't say 5. stick with it. Still not ok? walk away. Sold! It's not ripping poor ladies of, cause if you get ripped off, people will laugh at you! The secret is using their language and let them understand that you're not a fool. ciao!
  • cheap! Try to Negotiate a house or a new car, not some poor lady.

  • Wow. Im cambodian/chinese. Your getting ripped off. Just because your white they think your loaded. People tried to rip us too, but good thing my mom can speak cambodian (khmer). Seriously you could of got that paper scroll for about a dollar. Its like when, I went to mexico, they tried to charge me 32$ for a cheap material shirt.

  • Is that much time really worth $5???

  • Or, you could just pay the woman who lives on $5 a day what her product is worth and quit being a typical westerner who looks at the world in terms of what you are capable of getting instead of giving. God forbid these Thai merchants make enough money to educate their kids! The nerve. Be a typical tourist like these fools and get the best deal you can while most Thai live in poverty. Or, you could instead help people who live without the luxuries you enjoy by paying fairly.

  • she is the worste haggler ever.

  • They are ripping you off !! they think you are super rich !! it's up to you to be smart, every business men and women,no matter what country they are from, will try to take all your dollar, try to get yourself a cambodian friend who live in cambodia,he or she can help you save some dollar,so that you will have enough money to travel more.

  • You guys have no idea what you're doing. In Cambodia, those items cost a few dollars each. Even at $50 you paid 5 times too much. The 'no profit' argument was an absurdity, as well.

  • Wow look at those guys trying to totally rip off tourists. Great job on the haggling though, that would've never worked here in Brazil.
