It's hard to face, but if something had happened to my family which was suspicious, I would want one done. I would want to know. I give anyone credit who can do this. It has to be a very difficult job.

dehumanize? If you where ever in a situation that someone you love die in very strange matter , would you or would you not want to know the cause of death? I thought you would..... some one has to do it.... in this cases this is why we have ME you dumb dumb..... dehumanize, hahahahahah what the hell

I am happy to say that I would never want to dehumanize myself by being a medical examiner. How horrific.

@happybirthday1968 How could you say that being a medical examiner is dehumanizing? That is to say that it is "un-human" and therefore "animalistic", and I don't know any animals advanced enough to preform extensive autopsies. I think that these are the very things that make us human- and are at the height of our technological and medical sciences.

I really have a lot of respect for Dr. G. She not only is a thorough and meticulous M.E. she also is very compassionate.

Her book "How Not To Die" is really a great read. I highly recommend it.
