  • I just saw this again. So scary. So underrated in my opinion. Too bad the 130 min version is lost to us. :D

  • i saw the movie when it first came out i liked it , it was definitely one of those movies you dont walk away feeling good afterwards however.

  • i can honestly say ive never heard him referred to as "Larry"

  • hard when your a pussy when your a kid lol

  • Has anyone noticed that this film's plot is remarkably similar to the game Dead Space? Lost ship, repair team, horrific hallucinations, demonic-esque symbols and markings, and an empty ship that should have at least 100 people on board.

  • @holymasterchief

the developers got the idea from event horrizon... btw i never saw this movie so now i have to hunt for the dvd

  • @holymasterchief

Isn't there also a "Doctor Who" episode very similar to this story???

  • The film has defiantly become dated in special effects. But that aside, I found it scary and disturbing as a kid and I just watched it for the first time in 10 years yesterday and it still holds up I think. Maybe its because I saw it as a kid and those images are brought back. I think you hit the nail on the head at 6:50

  • Always liked this film....I still can't believe that PWS Anderson directed this

  • Whew...I thought you were about to shit all over this one! Lol. I really like this one. The CGI sucks but I still enjoy it. I dont have a problem with Sam Neil. Jarassic Park, In the Mouth of Maddness and Event Horizon - all great films IMO. Great Review!

  • I felt the exact same way when I first watched Event Horizon

  • Good stuff, RyHo. I've heard a few things about this film, but have never actually seen it. I always remembered Laurence Fishburn saying 'this place is a tomb' in the TV spot, though, ha ha. Up until now, I never even knew it was directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, whom I actually like as a director. I might have to check it out now, though, since you gave it some pretty high marks in comparison to 'Hellraiser.' As always, thanks for another great vid, pal. Stay blessed.

  • did you know the reason ive never bothered with this movie is because like ten years ago when you first saw it, you friggin HATED it? so i avoided it all these years. i didn't know people didn't like Sam Neil.

  • I did, I had an intense hatred for this flick because it had me reeling while I watched it. You might want to give it a gander now, haha.

I've heard some Sam Neill hatred in the past few years, but I've always liked him as an actor.

  • BTW, 5 stars RyHo on this "Impressions vid" :)

  • Haha, yeah, I'm trying to veer away from saying reviews because I don't feel like my opinion on a flick should quite be a "review", but that's just my thoughts!

Thanks for all the five star ratings, haha.

  • Lol! no prob RyHo!! Indeed sir, I agree about it not being a review but more of your opinion, frankly I think your opinion is more interesting then just going through the film! :)

  • I'll check this out RyHo! I like Sam neil, Of course my favorite roll by him is Dr. Grant. I'v seen parts of this but never the whole thing, Im leary about space movies cause its not my favorite setting. I also liked your into to this where you just show the title then cut away, that was cool!

  • Haha, thanks. Yeah, I'd say this is more haunted house movie with a spaceship for a setting than it is a space movie. It might be something for you to check out!

  • hellraiser left a pretty weird impression on me too, i should check this out, if i didnt watch ur review i wouldnt of heard of this one thanks man. great review *****

  • Thanks, man. Glad I pointed it out then. It might be something for you to check out.

  • I haven't seen this Event Horizon for a few years now. The used to play it on HBO every now and again and I liked it. Wouldn't mind catching it again sometime soon.

  • thats a good one from the 90s. it has some good shocks and scares! i need to pick this one up (used to have it at one time on vhs but i think i gave it away...stupid me!?) great review dude!

  • Thanks, man. I can't remember where I picked it up, but it was around $10 CDN, so it'd be even cheaper for you cats, haha.

  • I'm gonna give the movie another looked based solely on your critique of the film. Nice vid!

  • I'd say Netflix it and see what you think for sure. I hope you like.

  • Im def gonna have to check this movie out..Ive heard of it a few times but i really dont like the space horror stuff..after ur description though it sounds pretty awesome so ill try to find it

  • It's not really about aliens or anything like that. It's almost a haunted "house" movie, but replace the "house" with a "ship" and throw in some Hellraiser, haha.

  • haha yeh all that stuff thrown in together sounds really badass and i hope its better than Hellraiser 4 which actually did take place in space lol

  • Great review man. Love Event Horizon.

  • Thankee, sai.
