    -Michael

  • @XxDahamonnahxX It just about is, my ass is killing it!

  • i want to try pipe smoking(im 18) but my parents always said dont smoke or youll get cancer.

whats your 2 cents on the cancer issue?

    thanks

  • @Josephcarlsonstrom I suggest you do a search on google for studies on pipe and cigar smoking for those who don't inhale. And then you can make up your mind based on evidence.

    Cheers,

    Kel

  • @SmokeRingsPipeDreams Thanks for the answer. Great videos by the way. and what is some good starting tobacco you can buy in grocery stores(i dont really have any smoke shops close to where i am)

    thanks

  • @Josephcarlsonstrom Captain black is very popular.

  • @SmokeRingsPipeDreams Thanks for all your replys. you make the best and most informal videos and i love the stories you tell. thanks so much for making them.

    Thanks,

    Joseph

  • @Josephcarlsonstrom if i smoke one cigar like a little peach one from a local store will i get addicted and or cancer?

  • This is indeed a great story. I really loved how you mentioned that you started with the crooked cigars and yes I do remember the Devil from the Twightlight Zone on the little printing machine. I miss that world even though I never lived in it, no one complained about a man smoking a cigar indoors.

  • @ThePipeRJ I wish I'd taken more advantage of those days.

  • Another great story

  • @007colton1 Thank you Sir!

  • Dude, this is an awesome series of videos. I hope I can be this good a speaker on camera soon. Keep it up bro.

  • @ThePiperPunk I'm glad you're enjoying it. I need to get it finished one of these days. To be as good a speaker as I am would not take much my friend. I studder and forget stuff.

    Cheers,

    Kel

  • @SmokeRingsPipeDreams Yea, but to me a good speaker is someone who can tell a good story and you can.

  • @ThePiperPunk Thanks man I appreciate the praise!

    Cheers,

    Kel

  • Lol, like the oxymoron. Good conartist.

Really appreciate the video, I'm just starting to begin because it seems like my kinda hobby.

Out of curiosity, what is the technique you use for smoking a cigar or pipe? People tell me it is like briefly sucking on a straw and exhaling, is that right?

  • @JesusFuckingChrist84 You close off the back of your mouth/throat with your tongue and then drop your jaw creating a vacume to draw the smoke into your mouth and then blow it out again without letting any get into your throat or lungs.

  • @SmokeRingsPipeDreams

Oh, sounds kinda tricky. Any examples of this technique on youtube? I'm really fascinated by pipe smoking these days, but I want to learn proper technique. It is weird because growing up around tons of cigarette smokers, this method is counter-intuitive, ya know?

Are you saying I have to like, press my tongue against the ruff of my mouth to seal the smoke from my throatand lungs?

Sorry for the questions, but I'm trying to learn! I'm 17, not really used to smoking.

  • @JesusFuckingChrist84 I do have a video planned all about this topic for my "how to smoke a pipe series"

  • @SmokeRingsPipeDreams

Oh, well I didn't realize you went over technique, I can't recall how many vids in that series I have watched. Sorry for potentially wasting your time, Smoke. Thanks for the vids, though. They've tought me a lot.

  • Hey, I really enjoyed your video. Haven't smoked much myself, but have had a cigar or two. Have also tried to inhale the smoke, but then i get really dizzy, almost like I'm drunk. Think I will follow your advise on not to do so, unless I change my mind and suddenly want to have lounge cancer... :p Keep on smoking! :)

  • @andris4 Glad to see you're enjoying the vids my friend. I need to get on the stick and finish this series one of these days. Two or three more parts to go! (and glad to hear you won't inhale, very bad for your body and very risky)

    Cheers,

    Kel

  • Do you inhale your pipes

  • No Sir, I never do. Nor do I inhale cigars. It is major unhealthy to do so. Cigars and pipes are not meant to be inhaled, though some people do it anyway.

    Cheers,

    Kel

  • Thanks

  • Backwoods Smokes, white owls, grendiers were my first cigars! We actually bought our shop teacher some fine cigars from a tobacconist for his birthday when we were in HS. FUN times!

  • i really enjoy your videos kel, i am glad i found your channel.

i did a video about how i got into pipe smoking, and i totally agree with you i hate the smell of cigarettes.

  • I'm glad you found me as well, I subscribed to your channel.

    Cheers,

    Kel

  • What a great story, will go back to watch 2 and 3. Thanks for watching mine and your nice comments.

My older brother and sister had me try Dads Camels once and I thought I was going to die, so I have never tried them agin, but my neighbors pipe was always a pleasure to smell and watch him smoke.

    Bob

  • Thank you Bob, cigarettes always make me about wretch too.

    Cheers,

    Kel

  • Kel this was really great. I loved your story it took me back to my childhood. Thanks I really enjoyed it.

    Salam

  • My brother tried to show me how to smoke cigarettes and i swear he did me a fantastic favor..."Suck on it like a straw"...Next thing you know I'm coughing and hacking. He tells me that's NORMAL at first. I figured if I had to get used to THAT, forget it. So no cigarettes for me. And you're not kidding about tobacco statutes back in the day...My mother used to send me to the store to get her cigarettes all the time.

  • great story and i appreciate you sharing. i swear pipes and cigars were made for just this thing. sitting around and telling stories, and doing absolutely nothing.....

    id love to here more

  • I am going to make a part two and probably a part three and hopefully soon. I am waiting for my new video card to get in before I can though. By the way, love your youtube handle, funny as hell. (you did mean it to be funny right??) :)

    Cheers,

    Kel

  • nice! i look forward to it. haha.... yea, i was making a youtube account and asked for suggestions. one of my younger brothers said "hamster in my bum" (he got it from my friend) so i was like hell yea lol.

anyone know of any good rum flavored pipe tobacco?

  • Good story, thanks for sharing!

By the way, are those gas meters behind you on the right? >.>

  • Those are indeed gas meters.

  • load up a philly with some izzle

  • kel , you are a good story teller . God bless you

  • Thank you Sir, I'm glad someone enjoys my blabber. But be aware, compliments like that will only get you more blabber!!

    Cheers,

    Kel

  • You tell a great story here, i really enjoyed it. I enjoyed my first cigar at a young age too.

  • Thank you, it makes it worthwhile doing this videos when I know people are enjoying them. Smoking cigars at age eight isn't something I would recommend to others, but it seemed very natural to us at that age. (and fun)

    Cheers,

    Kel

  • I really enjoy these recollection vids ... very interesting! Nice pooch!

Most folks did smoke cigs back when I grew up (I'm 51), but while everyone around me smoked, I never had an interest in it. The most interesting people hung out in the smoking area, though!

    -Tom

  • Thanks Tom, I guess at my age (52) I'm looking back as much as forward.

    Cheers,

    Kel

  • Oh, heck, we've got years and years left to enjoy our vices. I wonder if your dad didn't see the cigar thing as something a young man might do that indicated he was interested in 'man stuff' rather than boyish things - and thus didn't discourage it. The roll of the eyes might have been more in response to be shined on ... good story. Be interesting to talk to Scott, now.

    -Tom

  • My dad was a strange man, very strict in a fifties father sort of way, and yet at times he just let other things roll off his back that I would think he'd blow his top over. I did see Scott once at a gun show. Didn't get to talk long though. He was a character! Of course so was I.

    Cheers,

    Kel

  • Labs are the best,I own one and when she is gone I will give another one a good home. God bless my friend

  • They really are the salt of the earth.

  • Kelly is that an Old Lab laying behind you?

  • It is indeed an old chocolate Lab. My sons dog and the best dog I have ever known. (never knew a Lab before) In fact I would say the best individual I have ever known. He's quite ill now and seems to be hanging close to me these days. I love this dog.

  • great story Kell!!and how did you go from a cigar to a pipe?

  • Ahhhhhhhh, that we will see in part two "The middle years". Coming soon to a Kelly channel near you! :)

  • great story, my parents were cool like that, they didnt mind if i drank alcohol just as long as i did it at home or when they were around. buying beer was as easy as your story about the cigars. i guess it helped that i grew up in a neighborhood in NJ where every liquor store or bar seemed to be run by the Mob! the 80s were a fun time

  • The Mob, wow, you must have had an interesting upbringing. The scariest thing in my area were grizzly bears. Cheers,

    Kel

  • very interesting story,,i really enjoyed listening, its always nice to know how things went with a fellow smoker,,kinda reminds me with my old man suffering and how to hide things until the day he surprised me by buying me few tobacco pouches which i still keep until this very day

    cheers

    ahmad

  • I glad you enjoyed it Ahmad, it's what keeps me making vids. Cheers,

    Kel

  • Great story Kel!

My own early smoking adventures ended bad and kept me away from all tobacco until I was 23.

    Cheers,

    Mike

  • Thanks Mike, lets face it, I shouldn't have really been smoking at eight. But they were great times. (and some bad times too) Cheers,

    Kel

  • good times you had with your friend.

  • It was a great time, I meant to say in the video that it was very like that movie "Stand by me".
