You seriously need some medical help if you are waking up at 440. Your kidneys and liver will shut down if you don't get medical help. It says on your profile you are 30. From the looks of you, you are overweight, but not morbidly obese. You have a serious medical condition. If you don't stop ignoring this you will have a stroke or kidney failure.
:/ I hope you hang in there friend. I know how hard it can be to have a high bloodsugar. It has gotten better now but Im still struggling. Hugs from Sweden!
@liam7morris Hmmm, I see why you are confused. let me explain. fruit contains fiber which is one of three types of carbohydrates as you might know carbohydrates affect blood sugar tremendously. when carbohydrates get into the blood they turn into glucose. therefore too much fruit can affect your blood sugar. fruit isnt heavy in carbs but if you eat way too much you BG elevate. SOURCE: I've Been diabetic for 21 years. I see the other person didnt explain to u very well :-)
not real, if it was 440 you would die, you must ave a different measurement in the states because here, normal is between 3.5 and 5.5 mmol/l. and anything abouve 35 can kill you!
@liam7morris It was 440 mgdl or 24.4 mmoll. In the past (summer 2005) it read 850 mgdl or 47.2 mmoll before I began taking care of it. Depression kills.
@JoeyPaulGowdy I was gunna say, 440 mmoll would be insane haha!
and i also cannot see how watermelon causes it to go high, :/ because ONLY glucose can make blood sugars high, hence why its known as glucose levels, and the ONLY sugar in fruit, is fructose, which isnt detected in the blood sugar department!
@liam7morris Not true. You are using another measurement system. Although 440 is extremely high, I have heard of people having over 600. Normal is 80 - 100. I think you are talking about the AC1 test measurements.
Much love from Sweden! From a fellow diabethic! I know what it is like having high sugars and beeing worried. You will make it man! All the best! // Erik
You know what? I suggest you to go and see a doctor, or stop eating junk food. That's dangerously high, if you are on that level for a long time, AND you can have side effects by not having a normal BG
I've never actually had it checked out by anyone (purchased the glucose meter and strips on eBay years ago to keep check of how high and low it gets depending on what I eat and how many sodas I drink).

but there is no sucrose in fruit...

@liam7morris you must not be diabetic if you think fruit doesnt raise blood glucose levels!
DesireeandDiabetes 1 year ago
@DesireeandDiabetes glucose is a different isomer to fructose and therefore fructose doesnt affect it...

@liam7morris different fruits have different glycemic index's... because they have diff levels of fructose and sucrose in it
wordey123 1 year ago
@wordey123 Yes, but glycemic index doesnt affect blood glucose levels, its called blood glucose levels for a reason, only glucose affects it
liam7morris 1 year ago
@liam7morris right, and sucrose breaks down into glucose and fructose.. thus raising your blood sugar (blood glucose, what ever you want to call it)

You should DEFINITELY see a doctor. He can put you on a diet and some meds if nessisary. Diabetes is an extreamly serious cronich disease.
DiabetesGirl3145 2 years ago
It usually ranges from 150 - 300... if I were to fast for a week it would probably drop down to normal (it was 90-120 back in 2004).
