  • im sorry to say it guys.... but i enjoyed star wars 1,2 and 3 more then the other ones =S

  • F*** YOu george you ruined star wars!

  • "All art is technology." That line shows how he's gotten himself mixed up. Art is creativity first of all.

  • I would have been (and still am) interested in what else he is capable of outside of Star Wars or big, action-driven CGI stuff.

  • @squamish4244 American Graffiti.

  • @rpsmith014 Yes, that was good, and was the first "slice of life" teenager movie that many others followed, it was just 40 years ago. I'd like to see what he can do now.

  • @squamish4244 True, I agree I am curious as well.

  • Simple answer: "hmm I could use more money . . . "

  • Whoo Lucas FTW and all of starwars is beautifully imagined every step from the movies to the games and to the cartoons

  • I was originally surprised when I saw all of the hate against the prequel trilogy because I for one absolutely love it.

I do believe that the majority of it is what you watched when you were as a child. Because I was only 5 when I first watched TPM (My first star wars film) and that really won me over.

I understand though why people who were children for 4,5,6 would dislike 1,2,3 because it is always horrible to see something that you absolutely love change. Sort of similar to how Harry Potter

  • Right on George.

  • What he said is fake imo. Prequel takes place before the original star wars. Knowing technology is supposed to be at the top during 4, 5 and 6, how could he imagine to do something even harder. Lots of things could have been deleted or done with no/less CGI (stormtroopers/clones ?)

  • @Toini01 I'm glad he didn't have the CGI available at the time, it forced him to be more creative.

  • Oh George...

  • What I don't get is if he had no plan of making prequels, then how come he called the originals 4, 5 & 6? I don't get that!

  • @ChocolateisIsNice they werent called that when they were released.

  • @ChocolateisIsNice what we know s episode 4 was called "Star Wars". Due to the popularity of the film he decided to make a trilogy out of it (ep 5 and 6) but he called then 5 and 6 becouse he planned to make ep 1,2,3 as well. The reason 1, 2 and 3 came a decade later was becouse the CGeffects cost a fortune at the he waited for the prices to drop, and the technology to improve.

    Hope that helps =)

  • @ChocolateisIsNice It was his intention to produce the Star Wars movies in a way to reflect how he remembered the old Saturday serials. Lucas often missed the plot set up chapters. I think he should have called them 4, 8, and 10. Then people would have gotten his point and it would have explaned the gaps between the movies.

  • I got divorced, and my ex got 50% of SWars copyrights revenue.

So I said "OK, that b1tch will not see a CENT, I will make 3 new movies, so all the MONEY goes into my pocket!"

  • The prequels were worth it for kids. Kids liking them is more important than 32 year olds like me liking them.

  • @squamish4244 Well think about it, the originals were kids movies if you look at them closely. Yes, the first one has some gore and a couple of mild curses, but many of the people who hate the prequels now, were kids when they went to see the movies in theatres and fell in love with them. Some make the argument that the prequels (specifically phantom) can't be for kids because of all the 'complex politics' but honestly, when I was watching them as a kid, all that stuff flew over my head.

  • @iBlah6666 I think the only Star Wars movie an adult who hasn't seen any of them before can watch today without wincing at parts is ESB.

  • @squamish4244 Just goes to show you how kids oriented it is. Or maybe those adults don't have a kid left inside of them lol. I'm sure I'll be able to watch toy story and Monsters Inc when I'm thirty and still like it just as much as I did when I was younger.

  • @iBlah6666 Heh well I think no matter how old I get I will always love the original films. For instance a lot of people find the Ewoks annoying but I quite like them because I thought they were awesome when I was ten and I remember watching the cartoon as well. The prequels could not have the same impact because I was 19 when TPM came out. Although, every time a certain character showed up on screen I was like, "Oh God, not him again."

  • @squamish4244 Ya, I know what you mean about approaching something differently because of age. Oh Jar Jar, forever hated and forever alone lol

  • What is wrong with a filmmaker wanting to make more films to make more money? that's like being mad at a salesperson for wanting to sell more of his product. It's what he DOES. Get over it!

  • keep blabbering on george

  • i think he had too much 'fun' with the technology

  • .... hey; how about doing Episode 7-9? Now there's a thought, GL.

  • @kurvos considering there's books and games that completely fill in the future of Luke Skywalker, including him getting married, having a son he named Ben, his nephew becoming a Sith Lord, Chewie dies, so on so forth. It makes 7 thru 9 mundane unless they're going to adapt an event like the Second Galactic Civil War, the YuZohnVong War, The Thrawn Trilogy, or Fate of the Jedi... And then you fanboys would still be after it because "it's not accurate to the books" etc etc etc. So dude, enough.

  • @SoraMatt I don't care about the books - what George Lucas creates is supposed to be considered canon. And why are you assuming I am a fanboy? I am not. You seem to be one though, as you're more into it than I could ever be. :P

  • @kurvos dude, I could've gotten that information on a wikipedia page... And seriously, he likes and respects the EU stuff. He wants people to make more content. He himself isn't going to go past Episode 6, but he encourages others to do so. He IS however the head writer on Clone Wars, and he IS in the process of trying to make a Star Wars live action show set between 3 and 4 on a budget of 50 mil per season. And this is the internet, if you're commenting on this, you "not" being one is a lie.

  • @SoraMatt So why does it concern you so much? That is, if I am a fanboy or not - which I am not, but feel free to believe so - and considering Episode 7-9? You seem so angry and irate - try to relax, dude. It feels like you're trying too hard to have an attitude against me. We won't get anywhere like this considering anything.

  • @kurvos my problem is with people trying to force the guy who gave them everything to churn out more and then blame him FOR churning out more and more merchandise... It's the hypocrisy that pisses me off. I seriously don't care if more movies are made. I know what I liked to see (which is the EU novels etc.) and I'm going to treat it as that. If I'm coming off as irate, I apologize. I recently saw "The People vs. George Lucas" and I'm kinda on a crusade against my own kind: fanboys.

  • @SoraMatt I am not one of those people being hypocrites - I am my own individual. I just wish he would do something new rather than filling in on pointless middleparts between the movies. Yes, the new Clone Wars series is nice - but stuff like Force Unleashed is just pathetic to me. If he did ANY new live action Star Wars film, or someone else did; I would be fine. Like a Old Republic movie for instance. But no - he instead re-releases his movies over and over again.

  • @kurvos well he said in his lifetime there would be no more movies to be made and he doesn't want any more to come directly after Episode 6. That being said, he's left the door open for novels and games to be done. And the Force Unleashed is a great story and the gameplay is nice and looks pretty (it's just TOO SHORT!) But I agree on seeing an Old Republic Movie. Heck I don't care if 7 thru 9 are CGI adaptations of the Thrawn Trilogy, but he likes to push the limits of his movies, hence rereleas

  • @SoraMatt Force Unleashed... "great story"? Dude, I respect your opinion - but that story is retarded. Darth Vader has this really bland apprentice of no personality who's more powerful than him, and his design is awful, and he has a very forced love interest who's even blander than him, and we get to know absolutely nothing of any importance considering ANYTHING. The games might be fun to play - but the story is awful and poorly written... and very uninspired.

  • @kurvos here's where I will RESPECTFULLY play counterpoint:

    - in terms of love story (and Sam Witwer's also stated this) it's NOT a love story until the sequel: It's a crush story: He's gone for YEARS without seeing a woman, so I wouldn't say it's forced for the first one.

    - He only GREW to be more powerful and Vader IS limited by his cybernetics,

    - Starkiller really is Luke had Luke been raised by Vader, so instead of bright-eyed, he's emo, but there is room to grow if one lets it.

  • @SoraMatt Starkiller still is an awfully bland character - and whatever happens in the Force Unleashed games, it's completely ignored in the actual movies anyway. I know it's kinda the same with Clone Wars - but at least they offer me something to give a shit about. New characters (especially Cad Bane, my favorite SW character of all time), and a lot of shit happening but still leaving the glimps in the eye. Force Unleashed... boring emo story with a boring character.

  • @kurvos well his story isn't ENTIRELY ignored: He DID forge the Rebel Alliance and his family crest is the Rebel symbol, and I think it's the whole overture of him being "emo" that has him come off as bland. Take that away he's a sarcastic nit who has a cynical outlook on life. I personally like the story, but that's ok, you are entitled to othewise. I just think ppl should also be capable of seeing the opposing point of view, but have the ability to disagree with it. Know what I mean?

  • @SoraMatt I suppose you mean that even though you do not like the idea of a story and/or it's execution, you should be openminded about it as it may have some redeeming factors even for a hater. But regardless of anything.... I don't think it was needed.

But trust me - I do think it's awesome you like it for what it is. :) It's just a personal preferences of mine.

  • @kurvos And that is perfectly ok. That is an opinion I can respect because it acknowledges that "yeah, it sucked, but even in something bad, there's a sliver of good that made me watch it to begin with." It also respects that there are people that DO like it.

It's the type of opinions that go "IT SUCKS! LUCAS SUCKS! BECAUSE HE MADE THIS AND THIS!" I will NEVER respect because they fail to acknowledge the plus sides to the bad. Episode 1 was bad, but it had an epic lightsaber duel, didn't it?

  • @SoraMatt Episode 1 was bad to you? Funny - it's my favorite Star Wars movie. XP It's even one of my favorite movies of all time. Does it have it's flaws? Definitely. But I think it is so, SO entertaining. The podrace scene deserves to go down into history as one of the most memorable movie scenes ever. Too long, people say? Me, along with all of my friends - we all say it was too short. I love the movie so much.

  • @kurvos Actually, no. I'm NOT the film's harshest critic. I'm just using a barebones example, as well as by comparison to the other films. My biggest problem with the film is Jar Jar. I mean my favourite is Return of the Jedi, and that's the "worst" of the original trilogy. If Jar Jar was cut entirely from the film: It'd be an Oscar movie. If anything, he's my only issue with the movie. I can survive with the other flaws, know what I mean?

  • @SoraMatt Jar Jar Binks? I do not get the complains about him. Sure, he was a bit annoying and silly. But I think he worked for what he was. I rather have him than C-3PO from the original trilogy... he just got on my nerves all the time; it was frustrating. Jar Jar Binks to me had some sort of charm, honestly. I never felt bothered by him.

  • @kurvos see, the older fans don't share that opinion. I'm a child of the early 90s. I grew up between each generation, so I see both sides. And he's essentially there to be a rascist stereotype and most found his antics degrading to the seriousness of the scene. At least with 3P0, you could shut him down or blow him up if you got too pissed with him (and they did), where as Jar Jar didn't come with an off switch. Fans wanted these epic, serious, Jedi ass kicking scenes, but Jar Jar ruined it

  • @SoraMatt I was born 1988, FYI. And I didn't notice Jar Jar is a racist stereotype. Again - I think that's far more apparent with C-3PO, who's basicly making fun of british people. Jar Jar ruined nothing for me. He was a welcome comic relief to me.

  • @kurvos I remember liking him as a kid but as I grew older I was thinking "Shut up! Let the Jedi kick ass!" I think his humor just degrades from the well thought out action scenes and the only reason he's a "hero" is because he's a klutz. And the originals were done by a mostly British crew, and they DID try to get a different voice actor, until Mel Blanc looked at George and said "his voice is fine, leave it." And that was how his actor molded his voice, because he IS British, a butler, etc.

  • @SoraMatt You know, I think we should continue this discussion through PM. LOL XD

  • @kurvos lol, agreed.

  • @SoraMatt Hey SoraMatt I just wanted to say thank u. Finally there is someone else who is annoyed by these fan boys but I was just wondering what type of crusade are u trying to make. Once again thank u

  • @sherlock8898 lol, it's not a problem. The crusade is basically to point out how pathetic trolls and "fanboys" really are by raging on something they love to show how much they love it. It's stupid, pathetic, and it's a way of saying "MY PLAYPEN! NO GIRLS ALLOWED!" Kinda mentality. You don't play by their rules? You get shafted because of your opinion. It pisses me right the fuck off. I mean, I admit to doing it on occasion, but not to any excess that most "fanboys" will, I mean like wtf...

  • @SoraMatt Ah I see and what do u think about the changes he made to the original. I have no problem with them but I just wanted to hear your thoughts.

  • @sherlock8898 in Ep IV, one scene was added, yeah it was unnecessary, but for the most part was just background shit and a few facelifts. for Ep V, I barely noticed the changes (minus a few flight shots here and there and Temura Morrison doing Boba Fett, meh). And ROTJ was just more background shit, but I admit to preferring the music of the original (especially the ending theme). It doesn't bother me TOO much. No major plotpoints were changed and in the context of EU, no difference at all.

  • @SoraMatt I see. Also let me know if there is anything I can do to help your crusade.

  • @SoraMatt The Mannequin Skywalker force ghost appearing in the last scene is annoying because to older viewers it's jarring during a triumphant victory celebration, and he has that weird look on his face. Plus the beak on the Sarlaac. It was scarier when it was just a maw, one of those 'what you don't see is more frightening' things.

  • @squamish4244 to be quite honest, it didn't bother me and still doesn't and I was born in 91 and got into it before the special edition, and didn't actually own a copy OF the special edition until I was 20 (now), so I only watched the special editions a handful of times and either way, neither bother me mostly because the plot is unchanged. Because of that, I'm entrenched into the story. Logically however, while it is jarring, young Anakin was more fitting. jarring yes but logical

  • @SoraMatt For a hilarious take on the changes and the creepy look, search "Kevin Smith answers a Star Wars question".

It's just if there was ANY change I wish he could have left out, that would have been it. Even above Han Shot First. Anything else you want, just leave kindly old Anakin in. But no, it doesn't ruin the movie or...what Kevin Smith says.

  • @squamish4244

the reason lucas replaces sebastain with hayden as a ghost in ROTJ is because lucas was worrried after hiring hayden christensen, when he shows sebastain as a ghost, lucas thoiught the ghost may have injuries because when a good person dies he/she doesnt show injuries, when changing the ghost into hayden, is only because vader redeems himself as anakin. the reason lucas gave the sarlacc a beak, is because he felt the sarlacc doesn't look alive.

  • Revenge of the Sith: Best. Movie. Ever.

  • The reason he made the prequel was because of technology?! Whaaaaaaaaaat?! Well therein lies the reason why the prequels were crap! There was nothing wrong with the technology used with the original films, in fact the irony here is that it looked more real than the prequels did!

  • @HugovonDrax

i know how you feel, but some filmmakers using real life models are very tedious and tiresome to them and my take years, while the computers help the filmmakers finish on time. the second reason he wanted to do the prequels is he was divorced

  • Wish he had done more films like “THX 1138”- still the best film he’s ever directed by FAR.

  • Of course you were going to have prequels - why else you would name them Episode IV, V, and VI.? Plus you like money since you release the fucking series every five years with some pointless change added. Don't keep the audience in suspense George, what are you going to change next? Are you going to add toilets to the Death Star? Give Chewie hairballs? Add Jar Jar to the OT? Why not fix what the fans keep telling you to fix and be done with it?!

  • fuck special effects... playstation cgi ... huahuahuahuauahuahuahuahu

  • @paunocu666

at least it had some good visual effects shots like the podracing scene, naboo space battle, gungan city, geonosis battle, battle of coruscant, and lightsaber duel on mustafar. and if you think it had too much cgi, lucas didn't change the real sets like slave headquarters, mos espa city, jedi council interior, droid control ship, naboo swamp, qui gon's funeral, anakin and padme's first kiss, tusken raiders' homestead, and lar's homestead,

  • I am not gonna say someone is stupid if they like the prequels thats their opinion but as for me and other fans I wanted to like them but they failed to connect with people Lucas used CGI way to much and it seemed fake plus they were written so poorly the redlettermedia reviews explain very well why the prequels are not nearly as good as the originals

  • @12skolvikings My god. Someone who dislikes the prequels but doesn't blab on like an upset senior in a nursing home. You win the internet sir, your prize is in the mail. Seriously though, it's refreshing to see someone who dislikes the prequels react with dignity and respect to someone else's opinion. You made this youtubers day a whole lot better.

  • @vigtigyou2uber I can understand one might like that film. You know.. if you're a retard.

  • @vigtigyou2uber if you're over 12 you'd have to be a brain dead moron to enjoy pointless 45 minute long lightsaber battles with horrible fake looking CGI. if you're under the age of 12 then you shouldn't be on mommy and daddys computer

  • Comment removed

  • @vigtigyou2uber it's funny because we are the same age, you stating I'm a bitter oldfag has just been proven wrong and you look even stupider now. When I was 12 years old sitting in that movie theatre watching revenge of the shit even I realized how horrible and fake the movie was, acting and dialog that made you cringe, plot holes that bothered you the entire movie, and long exhausting 45 minute lightsaber fights that were ultimately pointless. You're just the typical fat retarded movie goer.

  • Comment removed

  • @vigtigyou2uber Every movie ever made has plot holes, and there are some in the original trilogy, but when a movie is good the plotholes don't bother people, because the movie as a whole and the ultimate point of everything comes together and makes sense, with the prequel trilogy, it crosses the line, and then some. I'm not just saying this to insult you, but you would have to be either a small child, a die hard extreme star wars fan, or a complete idiot to enjoy those god awful movies.

  • Comment removed

  • @vigtigyou2uber defeated, like the down syndrome infested child you are, now run along little girl and enjoy your star wars.

  • @chuggyman1 Why don't you quit being a dick. The movie got good reviews from the top critics, and no I'm not talking about the 40-something top critics. I'm talking about Big guys like Roger Ebert and Richard Roeper kinda shit. Now when some of the best say it's a good movie, your only defense is that you believe you're smarter than the greatest critics in showbiz. On top of that, every Star Wars prequel was nominated for an Oscar for bet special effects. I liked them, and so did many others.

  • @RedDadaFilms that was a cool story bro

  • @RedDadaFilms And by poor movie critic, I mean horrible movie critic.

  • @chuggyman1 Did you see the new South Park episode "Ass Burgers"? You are exactly like the "Secret Society of Cynics": an unpleasant, constantly and pedantically negative and childish person, who can't get over himself and sees everything as shit.

  • @vigtigyou2uber awe look at you reply to me, you just can't get enough of me, this is he most attention you've gotten in years, never mind the fact that I'm making you cry. Keep replying little girl, let your pussy juices sprinkle across the comments.

  • All of the 6 movies are good. It doesn't matter to me that the Old Trilogy is better than the New one, the new trilogy provided back story. Besides, we have tons of Star Wars books that provide back stories so people really shouldn't complain.

  • "I thought it would be fun to totally rape the trilogy".

  • redlettermedia has completely changed my view of this man

  • @guitarreilly Same here. Mr. Phlinkett just destroys the prequels, he just tears Lucas & the prequels apart.

  • @guitarreilly Abso-fucking-lutely.

  • @guitarreilly You mean by saying he just wanted to make money based on nothuimg but that he creates quality merchandise and sais he doesn`t care for art based on again nothing I mean he gets very involved wuith his films filling many positions if he just wanted money wyhy didn`t he hire a director????????????

  • He couldn't create Coruscant in the mid-80's? He couldn't create a giant city scape with the SFX he had back then? My answer to that is....BLADE RUNNER!

  • Translation: I like money.

  • @Fredwilson45 A net worth of about $3 billion.

  • @Fredwilson45 Shut the fuck up you ignorant fool. You probably only said that because you hear other people say that. This man is a genius. The prequels are awesome. Gtfo.

  • @Fredwilson45 IT WASN`T LIKE THE PREQUELS WERE PART OF THE STORY MISSING CHAPTERS!!!!!!!

  • We got to have... moneyyy!!!!!

  • Translation: ''My ego got so huge after the first three films that I decided, critical thinking be damned, I will write and direct the prequels myself. I forgot I sucked at working with actors and writing dialogue, but I thought, to hell with that, I'll fix it all in post and CGI will cover up the rest.''

  • If anyone wants to see a good analysis of the prequels, look up Red Letter Media's page and check out his vids. I'm trying to advertise for him, but his content is truly top notch.

  • @quentenburnett Agreed Plinkett Rules! B)

  • @PowerHungryLizardman

Lol thanks. I meant to say im NOT tryin to advertise for him. haha

  • It really pisses me off when I see people going on about how the prequils shouldn't have been made.

So what? I personally love them. But that is Star Wars history.

I personally wouldn't still like to be wondering how the Empire rose up, and how Darth Vader became to be more machine then man...

Thumbs up if you actually like Star Wars as a WHOLE (MEANING ALL 6!!!)

  • @FullWrangaAlchemist9 I would've preferred to have left it up to our imaginations than have the PT.

  • pleeeease make another star wars that shows what it was like before of after the sequel !!!

  • @normansmother1

Yes, but Michael Bay is a different story.

George Lucas still oversees, writes, and directs films, but they tend to be smaller scaled.

He has to be a business man, owning the top sound effects, visual effects, and editing houses on the planet will do that to people.

He's said he's made the movies he wanted to make, so even if you don't like it, he's fine with them.

  • @JuniorProducer1996 If I met George, I'd personally congradulate him for making the Saga....

  • I LOVE the star wars saga

  • @bats70 The Star Wars Saga is a great story. These old school fans are a bunch of crybabies that have no power.

  • he said it couldnt be done as a movie!!! he should have left it and kept the original star wars trilogy the way it was. not forever tarnish the masterpiece of the first 3 movies with the horrible pile of shit that was the prequels!!

    GOOD WORK GEORGE!!!! :(

  • I think George should have continued the existing trilogy story, not backtracked the origins. Pointless.

  • @SlipknotRocksSIC "Haters" huh? Hm, interesting term. Especially since the people who DEFEND the prequels are just as bad, and sometimes a THOUSAND TIMES MORE hateful than the people who don't like them. Quite frankly, me and EVERY SINGLE ONE of my friends abhor the prequels, but you know what, we can't even SAY that to a prequel fan without nearly having our heads ripped off. They scream, "George Lucas is a genius, what have YOU done?!" Uh, well, for starters, I didn't fuck up Star Wars ; )

  • @Gorshkin111

Interesting. In my experience the people who don't like the films are usually much more hostile and obnoxious about it. Guess that logically there would be people like that on both sides. I understand that people argue so much because we all feel so strongly in our opinions on the films 'cause of how much STAR WARS has meant to us since our childhoods, but at the end of the day I have to wonder. Why can't we all just get along and agree to disagree?

  • @Gorshkin111 wow

  • That "constraint" he's refering to at 2:50 was probably common sense and good taste.

  • I'm still snoring from these sequels

  • Fuck you Lucas you hack!

  • to be honest, there were only two things that made the prequels not as strong as the original trilogy, the over-use of Jar Jar Bink's character (his character was more of a "look what we can with a completely digital character) and the dialogue in the Padme and Anakin scenes. The prequels on their own have a lot of great strengths and I think compliment the Original Trilogy nicely. But I would in all honesty bypass Episode 1.

  • @JeffDavadPhotog People do tend to exaggerate how bad the prequels were and both jar jar and shitty anakin/padme dialogue played a big part in that but the prequels had so many other things wrong with them. The idea of the force being spiritural was undermined several times, there were massive plot holes and the dialogue was disjointed and unbelievable throughout not just in anakin and padme scenes. As for complimenting the original triology, there are times when the films just don't match up.

  • @Chedi2517

The Force was still spiritual. It wasn't turned into science like so many people mistaken. And no, not all of the dialogue was that bad. Give me an example outside of the Anakin/Padme scenes (which were very clunky and cliched) that was really a terrible piece of dialogue?

And I'm not saying you have to like the films, it's all opinion, but I just want to know.

  • @SlipknotRocksSIC no. 4/5/6 are about the dark times during the empire. 1/2/3 are entirely different, about a time when the republic was stable and the jedi knights were protectors of the galaxy. This is what lucas knew he wanted to do before he did the original trilogy. They were made they way they were supposed to be.

    ALL 6 STAR WARS FTW

  • @SlipknotRocksSIC they should have NOT made 1/2/3 and leave well enough alone because it was already perfect the way it was... but some ppl were born in the 90's i supose...

  • I LOVE THE PREQUELS!! So fuck off

  • @drumer5582 Well, since YOU'RE being so negative...two words: Mr. Plinkett. Nuff said.

  • Trolls! Trolls everywhere!!!

I can't believe people are still butthurt that the prequels weren't an exact copy of the originals. Get over it.

  • I think he decided to write the prequels when he took a massive shit, looked at his handiwork, then decided to translate that to a script.

  • lol Even George Lucas made Star Wars suck!

  • Well, sorry George no-one likes the Star Wars prequels! XP

  • This moron should have his camera confiscated.

  • Joel Schumacher apologized for Batman and Robin, MIchael Bay apologized for Transformers 2, even Stephen Spielberg and Shia LaBeouf apologized for Indiana Jones 4. George, we're waiting...

  • Comment removed

  • @40Pacino

Do you HONESTLY think that the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy and Crystal Skull are as bad as Batman & Robin and REvenge of the fallen? HONESTLY?

  • @SLPIFan Not really, but still, I would like Lucas to say something along the lines of "Okay, I messed up"

  • @SLPIFan They are worse! First of all Transformers 2 was a summer movie about giant fighting robots from out of space, what did you expect? and indie and the prequels basically destroyed the childhoods of millions of fans all over the world.

  • @Ivansama94

What did I expect from TRANSFORMERS 2? More focus on the actual Transformers, and the ones they choose to give the most focus on are the Twins, the most obnoxious & annoying comic relief sidekicks who have to draw all the attention to themselves in all their scenes (and I can tolerate Jar Jar of Star Wars and Willie Scott from Temple of Doom) I also expected much less juvenile humor all around (dogs humping?)

And you're mixing up worse with more personally disappointing.

  • @SLPIFan It's a Michael Bay movie damn it. JAR JAR STEPPED IN POO!

  • @Ivansama94

It's a Michael Bay movie. So? That's like me defeding ALONE IN THE DARK by saying damn it's an Uwe Boll movie (Though Bay is a somewhat better director) The only Michael Bay movies I like are THE ROCK with Sean Connery and Nic Cage, and the first TRANSFORMERS was enjoyable but still had some of the same problems the second one had but not quite as bad.

Yes Jar Jar did, but he didn't obnoxiously run every scene he was in. I didn't care for him, but he didn't ruin the film 4 me

  • @SLPIFan Yes he did ruin every scene he was in. He's a shame to the franchise. it's hard to get it seen as you're not a real star wars fan.

  • @Ivansama94

You're makin' it sound like I love the character. I don't even particularly like him, but I do understand why people wouldn't like him.

And I love the good old hater phrase that people who like the prequels aren't true fans, as if you have any right to say what makes a true fan. Prequel haters like you are the most obnoxious and disrespectful members of the fanbase. I don't care whether you like the movies, but this is like me saying you're not a true fan for hating them.

  • @SLPIFan OG you're a prequel fan? that sure explains a lot.

    Shoo jar jar lover

  • @Ivansama94

Given the text you've written it would appear that you read my last comment, but ignored most of the material I left in it. For one I clearly stated that I wasn't a fan of Jar Jar, and you're just proving my point about prequel haters. You couldn't think of anything better to say so you tried a cliched nonsensical jab to get back at me. Yeah, and the prequel fans are the ones considered morons. How interesting.

  • @SLPIFan Yeah prequel fans are morons.

lt shows complete lack of taste in movies to say the least.

  • @SLPIFan I hope you get tortured by an imperial interrogator droid and eaten by a Rancor.

Not that you'd even know what those things are, kid.

  • @Triosem

The Imperial Interrogator was the droid Vader and Tarkin used to try and get information on the Rebel Base from Grand Moff Tarkin, and the Rancor was the creature held within a secret chamber below Jabba's audience chamber used as a trap for visitor's who displease them.

Yeah, nice job proving how stupid I am rather than just respecting someone else's opinion.

Not that you'd even know what that concept is, hater.

  • @SLPIFan You know, people who don't like Justin Bieber are usually called 'haters'.

It certainly does not make the Bieber fans right.

  • @Triosem

You started the insults man, and I'm tired of being the bigger person and turn the other cheek when you guys don't and for some reason feel the need to insult us. And I'm not right about the films, and you're not right either. It's all opinion. There is no true fact on film. You could say you hate GODFATER and love BATTLEFIELD EARTH and you wouldn't particularly wrong, but I'd love to see your reasoning..

  • @SLPIFan ...no, I'd be pretty wrong.

  • @Triosem

You know, in the cases of those two films I'd have to agree as both basically represent extremes that most normal movies just fall in the middle of. The Star Wars Prequels aren't the GODFATHER but they sure as hell aren't BATTLEFIELD EARTH either.

  • @SLPIFan in fact. Anybody who likes a movie that pisses on a franchise loved by millions and millions of fans is a pretty big moron. The same kind of moron who'd expect more then what revenge of the fallen had to offer.

I'm so proud, you're actually trying to do more than just cheap quick jabs. Congratulations. Now, here's a little truth for you. If I am one, then we live in a world is full of morons. Take a look at their ratings at most ratings places like Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB. I'm sorry to have to tell you this but most people like them. The prequels are definitely flawed (Jar Jar, Christensen, Clunky romance dialogue) but some flaws don't ruin the films for us. Get the Hell over it.

  • @SLPIFan We do sort of live in a world of morons...and trolls (you'd know that)

Reading the actual reviews on IMDb shows what people actually thing

  • @SLPIFan agreed. the jar jar thing was blown WAY out of porportion

  • @40Pacino he doesnt need to, it was good

  • @40Pacino

I respect him for not apologizing. Regardless of what you think of the prequels, he made them the way he wanted, and he's happy with them.

Plus he's made millions of dollars off of them, and we're the ones paying and complaining.

  • @JuniorProducer1996 "and we're the ones paying and complaining."

Not from me he's not. I gave up being one of those suckers after Ep. II.

  • @Bubo25

Which is sad, Episode III is pretty much the best of the Prequels.

  • @JuniorProducer1996 - I know alot of die hard SW-fans are gonna rape this comment, but I think Episode III is by far the best episode.. you don't get near that kind of drama in the other 5

  • @DemiathDoomhammer

I loved Episode III, I actually have no problems with it at all. It also has some of the "best" dialogue Lucas has ever written, not saying much, but it's something.

  • @DemiathDoomhammer Yeah, the death of Owen and Beru, the death of Kenobi, the deaths of the rebel pilots, the elation on seeing the Death Star destroyed,Han and Luke being rescued by Rogue group, the passion between Leia and Han,Han being lowered into carbonite,Lukes reaction at Vader revealing his true identity, the ending of Empire as Luke and Leia watch the Falcon depart to find Han,Han being thawed out by Bosch and it being revealed to be Leia, the death of Yoda,Vaders redemption etc.....

  • @40Pacino Bay should apologize for all the Transformers. Hell, all of his movies.

  • @40Pacino All six movies are great. STFU and get a life cornball.

  • @Coolyfett what do people mean when they say get a life ?

I'm not joking. I'm brazilian, and I see this all the time at star wars videos haha... i'm trying to improve my self learned bullshit english.
