But it would have been real difficult for him to sing live and dance effectively on stage for almost two hours. He had to lip sync. There are times when he didn't use playback and he did sing live.

@JCopp1994 I was there at that concert, and it was a free concert to commemorate the Sultan's Birthday. We were waiting for the gates to open at 2pm and MJ only got on stage at about 9! MJ performed again in Brunei on 31 Dec of that year, once again in a free concert.
