kobe took like 40 shots in this game and hit a ton of free throws. wilt chamberlain took something like 63 shots to get to the 100 mark. however, kobes 81 was better than chamberlain because of the difficulty of the shtos he took. chamberlain was the biggest guy in the league at the time and could dunk over anyone. a lot of kobes shots were off balance or beyond the arc making it tougher and a much greater feat to accomplish.

I dont think so. If you base it on shooting percentage, then tons of players are "better shooters" than Kobe or Ray Allen. But the difference is you can shut down pure shooters like Allen or Kapono by putting playing lockdown defense, but Kobe can get his shot off anytime he wants.

kobe took like 40 shots in this game and hit a ton of free throws. wilt chamberlain took something like 63 shots to get to the 100 mark. however, kobes 81 was better than chamberlain because of the difficulty of the shtos he took. chamberlain was the biggest guy in the league at the time and could dunk over anyone. a lot of kobes shots were off balance or beyond the arc making it tougher and a much greater feat to accomplish.

Im not judging Dirk or you as a person, im sure you know your shit, but this comment is a little retarded. Kobe and Lebron are FAR more talented than Dirk, and lest we forget MIchael Jordan was also 6'6 and im pretty sure no one has been a more valuable player than him. One time I got to see Kobe play and he was the most intimidating player i've ever seen. Kobe is better right now than he has ever been. Ever. LeBron's upside is gargantuan he could do amazing things but right now his numbers are higher because his team needs him so damn much, kind of like the Lakers last year. I have never seen a better jump shooter than Kobe; he makes shots that you can't think about regularly. Jordan could finish and post-up better, but he couldn't shoot like that, and neither can LeBron (now). Let's give credit where credit is due.
