@asturel13 I'm 36, I don't listen to newer music. My favorites are Slayer, Napalm Death, Suffocation, Sadus, Cannibal Corpse...old school death metal & thrash. To me, those bands are original. Sure, many have stuck to their formula over the years, but it's THEIR formula, that no one else had when they came out. So, in that sense, they're very original. Originality is something I value highly. I get turned off if I hear something that sounds similar to other bands. But, I guess that's just me.

@asturel13 Out of all the bands that have come out in the last 15 years, I like very few. I like Leaves' Eyes, Nightwish (their stuff with Tarja), and that's all I can think of right now. There might be a couple more that I forget right now, but, I just don't like the vast majority of new bands. As opening acts, I've seen Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Lamb of God, Shadows Fall, and a few others live, and I wasn't impressed by any of them. *shrug* I'm jaded, I guess.
