John Gard only got a bronze?! Methinks he's been reading from our illustrious and posthumous senator Joe McCarthy, who had the nation convinced communists were hiding in our sock drawers..
Personal beliefs aside, I couldn't think of a better motivator to fight radical islamic terrorists than with a Bible or Christian book in my possession, an atheist pamphlet just wouldn't have the same effect. Oh, and I would also carry some bacon strips to lay over their dead eyes as crumbs from my bag of pork rinds fall all over their keffiyehs.
Please you are so wrong. Christian fundamentalist believe in a heaven therefore an afterlife. Atheists don't. If, by there definition, you have only one life to live, I would rather have an atheist fighting for me because they will protect there ass till the very end instead of taking one for Jesus or Allah.

Everyone in the Military who are not religious are what we like to call, "Foxhole Christians."
They may not believe in god but when the bullets start flying no one wants to go to hell. You're right though; since the military is part of the Government there should be a separation.
Wait, are people 'down-thumbing' my comments because they hate atheists or the people who are willing to stick up for us?
*sigh* No one's saying Patraeus isn't a 'hero', and besides that word is thrown around so damn much it's almost lost it's meaning. Remember: atheists serve in the military just the same. No general should disrespect the non-believing men and women serving under him by stating they should all have a book to boost their 'faith'.
Blocked and removed. I've probably got some nuts following my videos because of what I put up with Maher and Coulter. I really don't have any use for arguing with people who want to argue about either. Minds are not going to be changed. Unfortunately I probably threw a can of red meat to some rabid people who are getting worked up over issues that the GOP loves to use to play them for suckers to vote against their own economic interests and without fail it always works.
The endorsement by Petraeus is hardly a surprise. And hardly worthy of notice compared to other religious issues in the military. Visit militaryreligiousfreedom[.]org for the real scary stuff on our army of christian warriors.
2. General Petraeus didn't "betray us", he betrayed himself. This endorsement does him in.
3. So that's what lead to Rush the Hutt's many divorces: he was a wifebeater! "Why can't we hit the girl?" Damn Rush, if you want to beat something, beat yourself. Oh yeah, don't forget the Viagra and a microscope.
Military chaplains are supposed to facilitate the faiths of the soldiers, whatever they may be, not push their own. There are regulations about the conduct of chaplains.
The ranks of military chaplains have been filled with Christian fundamentalists who routinely proselytize to soldiers.
There have been hundreds of complaints of chaplains attempting to convert soldiers over the past two decades. Before 1980, there were virtually none.
I wasn't so much referring to the chaplain alone, but rather to a 4-star general publicly promoting a book by a military chaplain in which non-believers are linked to failure of their unit and Olbermann calls him out on it.
My comment was more about Keith's track-record of consistently criticizing those who attack atheists (and the protections guaranteed by all in a secular nation).
However, I had no idea about the proselytizing problem you mentioned, but thank you for enlightening me.

Olbermann did make arguably treacherous statements, but not in this video. I am not aware of outright lies. What are you talking about?

If Obama is a "little black man-child," does this mean Comedian Rush Limbaugh is going to start referring to him as "boy?"

Now that Keith has criticized beloved Saint Petraeus, there will be a congressional resolution condemning him.

You mean they'd be a pansy ass and not risk their life? Haven't you heard the saying "There are no atheists in the foxholes"?

Then let's give the 9000 Muslims in the U.S Army a BIBLE or let's give the Jews or atheists or whatever, A BIBLE.
