  • it's only one of the most awesome stop-motion sequences in a movie EVER.

  • This is why this movie creeped me out. He always reminded me of some evil druid instead of a wizard.

  • Its funny that no one has mentioned that when it starts to strobe images, that every other frame has a message painted into the cell hidden amongst the walls fences clouds ect. you cant see them here but with a 3 head video player (3 heads are better than 4 for quality ) you can.

  • Err...is this from the movie, or from the old Disney show on special effects with the character 'Major FX'?

  • It's both. The movie contains footage of Jittlov's earlier works (some of which were slightly modified to fit the movie). This version of "I am the Wizard" has different lyrics to the original, which is why the lip-synch is slightly off. This is the movie version.

  • There are other clips here on YouTube, but for those die-hard fans who want the whole movie, Mike Jittlov authorized someone to transfer the entire Wizard of Speed and Time Laserdisc to 2 DVD images (the WOSAT movie is on one, the other has Mike Jittlov's many short films, including the original Wizard short, the Disney Channel intro, the original "Animato" set to "I Know a Place", and many more), which have been put up on various file-sharing systems. Search for "Jittlov" or "Swordsman"

  • Where's the rest of it! This is the best part of the whole movie!! (I had this song stuck in my head for seven years).

  • what kind of evil evil person uploads half the song? of one of the best parts in the whole movie no less? lol

  • Could Someone upload the hole song?

  • I'm with dragonridley, please upload the full clip. I've had this song half known... haunting my head since I was 10, when the film came out.

  • I don't have the clip, but: "I am the Wizard of Speed and Time and the world of film is where I shine. I've got magic to let you see just where you were and want to be. On imagination's silver screen, I can help you find your dream, dream, dream, dream. Come to me, round to me, all of my friends and dance to your wishes in the camera lens. Watch for the wizard in the robe of green and I will help you find your dream, dream, dream dream...
  • any chance you know the lyrics to the 1979 short by the same title and author?

it's a slightly different song, hard to hear on youtube, and it's longer. about a minute.

  • Only the first verse is different. It goes:

"I am the Wizard of Speed and Time.

I've got magic to let you shine.

Wise to the wonders, step into the scene.

I can help you find your dream."

  • Actually this only the first half of the clip

  • I've never seen this movie but it looks kinda neat.

  • I dare everyone to upload the film "The Wizard of Speed and Time" on YouTube

This film needs the respect and recognition it deserves!

  • the start of "LONG TAIL" has begun

  • The Wizard is putting his broken studio back in order by using magic. Things get a little out of hand, though.

  • The scene is designed to show off any and every animation technique that Mike could do. Stop motion, Pixellation, Lip Sync (so they couldn't take the sound out) and in justy this scene somewhere around 20 subliminal messsages.

  • But wait! There's more! I've decided to upload my collection of Mike's shorts! Spread the green magic.

  • Done by Mike Jittlov. This is the second half of the "Wizard of Speed and Time" short film made for Disney. The process of making the short film was then used as inspiration for the feature film "The Wizard of Speed and Time".

  • I know it's a stop motion sequence -- I just don't understand what the scene itself means.

  • It's a scene from a film within the film "The Wizard of Speed and Time." In it, a filmmaker is challenged to make a special effects short that brings "a whole film studio to life." This clip is from the film he makes in response.

  • Comment removed

  • It's stop motion with pixelation. Pixelation: where a person in photographed one frame at a time along with the stop motion. Such as this bit.

  • I can explain this too you.

Message me if you want to know
