Reminds me of when I was a youth and went to school in downtown Orlando... I would see all the homeless handling asking me for money. I would feel sad and give what I could... Now that I am an adult, when I see bums, I yell get a job like the rest of anyone worth a damn.

Since there are millions more unemployed Americans than there are jobs available, how does yelling "get a job" make any sense? Food Not Bombs is not a charity organization but a political group who protests against our society choosing militarization over providing for the basic needs of it's citizens. For those who can not afford to rent/own a house, they can rent a room in a house inexpensively. If this group is political then they are using the homeless as pawns in a game. @harlequin516 Many of the police officers involved would rather be out arresting actual "bad guys" and they are only reluctantly following orders. Several of the officers have apologized to the people they were arresting. Most of the blame rests with Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and the City Council.

@harlequin516 Many of the police officers involved would rather be out arresting actual "bad guys" and they are only reluctantly following orders. Several of the officers have apologized to the people they were arresting. Most of the blame rests with Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and the City Council.

That's Floriduh alright. Deny the homeless problem by shooing them away from public places & sight of the press, tourists and "decent folk". Anyone remember the "anti-camping" laws in Sarasota and parts around? The panhandling restrictions and bans? This state is infested with selfish fat-ass WASPs, & the incompetent, white-collar criminal Rick Scott is their queen and patron saint.

@t43700 Sadly this is not only happening in FL. There are similar ordinances against feeding the homeless in Las Vegas and other cities across the nation.
