I really want 5 channel surround sound for Wii gaming using my Sennheiser HD380's or HD555's. I've got a killer 5.1 DTS HD Master surround sound set up, but where i currently live blasting up the volume while my Sub destroys the neighbourhood isn't exactly ideal.lol so i have to resort to headphones sadly.

Anyways, I've got a 7.1 receiver also...But for the Wii how would this work? Simulated Dolby Pro Logic II via RCA is what the Wii supports...But where would the USB Cable go? er, help!? ;p

@Fr3nCh702 thats funny because games are capped at 60 fps, everything is weaker toned down, and i see a lot people lag because the host system is inferior. for instance, bf3 pc = 64 man servers console = 24, pc = dx11 , console = dx9 and most computers that you can buy for $400-500 can run most games just not maxed out.

I dont know if you have any experience with Audio Technica ATH M50s but they have a decent soundstage bellow many other high end headphones and i was wondering if this make any headphone sound good and work well with 5.1. Also wirless or wired i dont mine the wires and if it sounds better i would go with it.

i own a mixamp and the surround effect it produces with headphones is truly incredible. i highly recommend buying one. next to high end video cards for pcs this is the equally as incredible.

@Scourtlind nope. ones just more durable. You're fine with a "cheaper" one. Rule of thumb for me anyway, with 6 foot cabes, I will never pay more than 20 bucks.

Does the "Y" adapter cable come with the MixAmp for no extra charge?

I own Turtle Beach HPA2's and they have three 3.5mm stereo line input jacks with an in-line amplifier. Can I use these along with the Astro MixAmp? Will I still be playing in true 5.1 surround?

The astro a40's are soo sick and the a30's are ok. btw, m8 im not having a go, but they're not SIMULATED surround sound, they're 5.1

@MaceLad They only have 2 drivers. and they use dolby headphone to take a 5.1 and have it run through stereo headphones. Yes you are starting with a real 5.1 audio channel, but what the mix amp is doing is remixing it to run through stereo headphones by adding delays, etc to simulate having a discrete 5.1 setup, aka 5 speakers and a woofer. Look up dolby headphone. Its a simulation.

@MaceLad furthermore, to be clear here, the box also does Dolby pl11 which takes a stereo signal, and expands it to sound like 5.1. Either way you are getting a simulation of 5.1 one starting with 2 channels of audio. the other using 5.1 channels which gives you more to work with when it comes time to mix it down for stereo cans.

It's very easy to hook/set up. And it's a huge improvement over my tv's speakers, which are about as good as an intercom on a 1960's Soviet submarine

Wow, it's easier than how I thought it would be.

When I will buy a new headset I might buy this one, it not so big, it looks great and it's an easy set-up. Though the Tritton ones look easier now.

My Logitech headset is still working and their products are very durable, so it will take some time before it's broken.
