The mado is much too large. Its a parrying weapon you shouldn't be using it like a shield.

I dunno about "going to", but it can happen, especially with weapons that people tend to try to muscle around like the middle madu

Definitely possible.. Right now the middle finger on my sword hand is broken from amtgard. Broke it about a month ago and whatever healing process took place was for nothing as i broke it again a couple days ago sunday. Blocking gone wrong i guess.
