  • don't overthink kissing. That is all.

  • Rubik's cube is spelt wrong in the description!

  • @Tzanthor he put (SIC) after it, meaning that it is a direct quote with grammatical and typographical errors unaltered.

  • I actually made my husband concerned when I was watching this video. When John popped up in that awful blue shirt, I said out loud (apparently louder than I realized) "Oh my god, what? Why do you even own a shirt like that?" and started laughing. I think the husband might be a little concerned with my mental state, lol

  • I shouted praise when he mentioned the spelling of Rubik's.

  • OH MY GOD YOU FILMED THE LAST PART OF THIS VIDEO A BLOCK FROM MY HOUSE

  • @HiImStevo *epically jealous*

  • Interesting fact from QI: Snakes don't actually dislocate their jaw. They actually just have a really flexible lower jaw.

  • @strangerswithsocks I'm a 13 year old girl nerdfighter, too! Plus everything you said in your comment is exactly the same for me aswell!

  • My guy friend cannot tie at tie no matter how hard he may try (I made a rhyme!) But I do know how, so whenever he goes off the band or whiz quiz (its like a local high school game show club thing) guess who's house he goes to...so I showed him this video. He still didn't get it right

  • "I fogged up the camera with my joke" XD

  • WHY DO YOU OWN THAT SHIRT?????

  • at 00:27 i cringed....

  • I'm the only person in my school's jazz band who can tie a tie. I have to tie everyone else's. xP

  • I knew how to tie a tie since I was 10!

  • I so want to do the snake with John :D

  • Thank you for teaching this 14-almost-15 year old girl learn how to tie a tie. I need to for Favorite Movie Character day tomorrow. (Random Gryffindor girl FTW!)

  • "how to die in oregon"

  • keep banging away at it.

  • Dude, haircut made him look like Michael Weatherly, or for NCIS fans, Tony DiNozzo! Or for Dark Angel fans, I suppose you know him as Logan Cale! Either way, celebrity lookalikes!

  • "I know, that's what she said."

I laughed for five minutes after that. No joke.

  • It is five a.m., I have been awake all night, and I cannot stop laughing at that shirt/tie combination.

I think it's time for bed.

  • @orangesaregr8 You are not alone.

  • Comment removed

  • @orangesaregr8 It's okay. It's 1pm and I'm laughing hysterically at his shirt/tie combo.

  • Watching this video to learn to tie my new Hufflepuff tie. Oh ya

  • xDDDD Just keep bangin' away at it.

great advice there for those people who can't concieve. :D

  • I'm wearing my Pizza shirt now. :)

  • I should have watched this before I went to London. Now I had to ask a random member of the hotel staff to tie my Hufflepuff tie, before I went to Trafalgar Square.

    It was embarrassing.

  • DON'T BE THE SNAKE guys... lol

  • I wore a tie to the midnight premier of HP. My mom was like, "Oh, did dad tie that for you?" "Just because Tom can't tie a tie doesn't mean that I can't either." "...I can't tie a tie."

It isn't that difficult, people. DX

  • that google picture was drawn by a kid in my school lol

  • 'For something that 14 years olds do all the time it sure is hard for a lot of people." xD

  • "I fogged up the camera with my joke" <3

  • Wish I'd have remembered that John taught us how to tie a tie already, so that I wouldn't have been embarrassingly bad at it before the midnight showing of Deathly Hallows Part 2.

  • and so, we learn that properly tying a tie is harder than getting pregnant

  • I literally use this every single time I forget how to tie a tie. Every time. Forgetting is pretty frequent. I don't tie that many ties.

  • I used the Rubik's Cube video and I can now solve the cube from memory!

  • Fun tie related fact, did you know the eleventh Doctor's bow tie is not a proper bow tie but one of those pre-tied ones?

  • "first you need to get a hair cut" What if my hair is half way to my ass?

  • wtf happened to your hair

  • 90% of my female friends know how to tie a tie. 30% of my male friends know how to tie a tie.

    Nerdfighters, please explain?

  • @dolphin64575 Being a guy, i find that there is an inverse relation between the usefulness of a skill and how much fun it is to learn.

  • @dolphin64575 maybe it has something to do with how girlfriends constantly seem to be tying their boyfriends ties for them, not for any un feminist reasons but simply because it's kind of adorable (and you know that if you don't do it for him, the way he leaves it is going to annoy you whenever you look at it)

  • @dolphin64575 Maybe because there are more female nerdfighters than male?

  • @dolphin64575 90% of your female friends have boyfriends who rely on their girlfriends for their superior manual dexterity (yes, that's what she said), and 30% of your male friends don't have girlfriends who are willing to perform the service of tie-tying.

  • @dolphin64575 Maybe that 90% of your female friends know that because they want to impress men?

Alternately, they have dressed in a costume or outfit that had a tie before. That's how I know what little I do know of how to tie a tie.

  • one of the best movie that i ever watched..saw this in webmovietube

  • you sir are hallarius

  • I love the film "how to train your dragon" :]

  • When I needed to tie a tie and my dad wasn't there to help, I looked at this video.

    Thanks John. :P

  • I have a friend that when she was in middle school, there was about 6 girls that had children...and i was like Daughter, I am disappoint.

  • look up how to spell... most of the answers are correct

  • John your diet doesn't help for people who are colorblind, and can't tell the difference between brown and green, like me.

  • Thanks for teaching me and my boyfriend how to kiss for our first kiss ever :D

  • @Angelblood96 THA FUCK?

  • John, thank you for helping me tie my Ravenclaw tie for Harry Potter day! DFTBA!

  • I HAVE A QUESTION FOR JOHN!!!!

What are those girl sticker things on your green wall back at your real house? I've been wondering since you started filming there.

And I remember the Narnia poster and I remember being jealous.

  • Yes, but we think of dragons byr riding them. Does that mean dragons think about riding us because i like my asshole the size it is.

  • I need to show my guy friends this video... why is it girls (in HS and college) can usually tie ties better than their male peers?

  • this is ok movie..watched the full movie in webmovietube for free

  • uhhhh how to train your dragon is a movie

  • Whenever I do have to tie a tie, I head immediately to this video.

  • i just realised that my ex is a snake xD

  • Is that a half windsor tie, John? If so, what's the difference between full and half windsor?

  • WHY WON"T THIS LOAD?!

That understated shirt was hilarious and prob the reason why the rest of the world mocks american's fashion sense. :D

    I know how to tie a tie. I learned when I was 9, and I'm a girl.

I like your hair better when its longer.

I suggest asking 7 of 9 how to solve rubik's cube. (btw I never understood those things. What's the allure?)

  • Thanks for the tie. I now know how to tie a tie. And How do Train A Dargon?

  • As soon as I saw the shirt... I rolfed.

That tie tying part was useful. My grandpa appluads you..

  • O MY GOD YOU ARE STANDING ACROSS THE STREET FROM 1) the best mind puzzle game store ever, 2) across the street and down from the best gelato place in the universe, 3) in the square where I had the greatest afternoon ever, and 4) ACROSS THE STREET AND DOWN A BIT FROM MY FAVORITE STORE IN THE WORLD SACRED ART!!!!!

  • YAY Lincoln square!

  • I totally knew the Rubik's Cube video link would go to a Dan Brown video.

  • puff levels changed dramatically during this video

  • @strangerswithsocks I'm a thirteen year old girl who knows how to tie a tie!

WhI learned a few months ago when I got my Hufflepuff tie! Yes, I'm a Hufflepuff. Shush. :P

  • @AccioAdventure Awesome! I'm 14, but I can't tie a tie, but hey, I'm a Hufflepuff! (Or in AVPM, "What the HELL is a HUFFLEPUFF?")

  • @starrynight472 "A Very Potter Musical" references are the best.

  • "I know thats what she said." XDDD

  • "I fogged up the camera with my joke." lmao you're hilarious John. ^_^

  • I'm probably the only thirteen year old girl nerdfighter, that prior to this video knew how to tie a tie.

This is because of long stints at charter schools who believe that having girls wear ties makes the school less sexist. It doesn't.

  • @strangerswithsocks You're not the only one.

  • @strangerswithsocks Prior to this video, this female nerdfighterling (who speaks in third person due to the fact that she is also a troper) also knew how to tie a tie.

No, she is not thirteen, but that isn't her point.

Charter schools make girls wear ties?

  • @strangerswithsocks I am thirteen and know how to tie a tie because of my Hermione Granger Halloween costume :3

  • @strangerswithsocks Nope I'm a thirteen year old girl nerdfighter who ALSO knew how to tie a tie n_n I never really needed to I was just curious lol :D

  • @strangerswithsocks I am a thirteen year old girl nerdfighter who knew how to tie a tie before this video, but that's because I had to wear a tie throughout all of primary school (do not know how long that is, from about 5 years old to eleven years old). But now I go to an all girls school and we don't wear ties...huh...

  • @strangerswithsocks I am also a thirteen year old girl nerdfight that prior to this video knew how to tie a tie.

  • @strangerswithsocks im the youngest im 10

  • @rahrmelon209 Congratulations, ten-year-old Nerdfighter, but you're not the youngest. :D There are families where the parents were Nerdfighters so there are tiny nerd babies out there. It's kind of an adorable picture.

  • @strangerswithsocks sorry, i am a thirteen year old girl nerdfighter that knows how to tie a tie :) although, admittedly, i didn't learn untill a few months ago.

  • @strangerswithsocks I'm a fourteen year old girl nerdfighter who knew how to tie a tie before this video, though it's only because I got sick of asking my dad to tie my Hufflepuff tie for me :)

  • @strangerswithsocks Since the time I was twelve, I have known how to tie a tie. I also happen to be female. I am glad to not be alone. Bands with ties FTW.

  • @strangerswithsocks I'm twelve now, and a nerdfighter! :D

  • @strangerswithsocks You'd be surprised. I actually learned when I was 9 for a class production. :)

  • @strangerswithsocks you are not alone :)

  • @savethekeytar123 Awesome! And yes, I think I'm forced to say that it was AWESOME!

  • Damn you for sending me to Dan Brown's channel, who I've managed to avoid until now and who has what is likely the most grating voice on the planet, and that's saying a lot considering Gilbert Gottfried and all.

  • I came here to learn how to tie my Ravenclaw tie because I'm going to Deathly Hallows Part 1 as Luna! Thanks John :)

  • Stupid watching YouTube on my phone... Can't click on John's face :'(

  • I should be doing homework...

  • John and Hank, I am a closet nerd and I recently started watching Brotherhood 2.0.

Today at school, I literally felt like I could do ANYTHING. I got a good grade on my science test, I sang funny songs in my head and I had my oft-unused glasses on all through art class. I wore an outfit I've been too chicken to wear and I generally felt AWESOME.

    Thanks, guys. DFTBA.

  • @TheWarnerSister I should say you're no longer a closet nerd. Congratulations ^^

    d.f.t.b.a.

  • @g2theIrishPianist Thanks for that. :)

  • "I eat less brown stuff and more green stuff"

    LMFAO priceless!

  • How to Train your Dragon!!!!!!

I just got that in the mail last week!

  • I love the line about not knowing when Jesus was born xD

  • "How to train your dragon" Is a movie, too.

  • What if this is "Who's Tony Danza" and I am the Boss?

  • thank you for helping with ties :D it helped lots :)

  • At :27, my English teacher has a shirt either identical to that or extremely similar.

  • Hahaha I like how John KNEW what we were all thinking during the tie part.

  • how to do everything

    step 1: Be hot.

step 2: You dont have to do shit when your hot, others do it for you.

  • Grammar correction: How to solve Rubik's cube... considering it is a cube belonging to Rubik, it doesn't need an article before it.

  • @burninmunkeys (SIC) means that a word or phrase is spelled falsely on purpose, usually because it's a direct quote.

Watch the entire video before posting comments.

  • @burninmunkeys The way I see it is since there are multiple cubes, you would use "a" since you are addressing one. Your way is also right, though, as the design is of Rubik, so it is Rubik's cube.
