No worries. NASA will kick apophis in the nuts and it will squeel like a little space rock bitch and hit some other planet instead. But if NASA fails then it was meant to hit us anyway and theres nothing we can do about it except enjoy what little time you have left alive if you live near the point of impact...I dont think it will be earth shattering but it will leave a scar on the planet some where.

Update on apophis. It is roughly 1200 feet wide, will not destroy the world, will not damage our atmosphere. It is estimated to have enough power to whipe out a small country, and its estimated track takes it over southern russia, pacific ocean, central america. path is likely to be updated again. aside from death, biggest threat is geo political in nature. evacuations would take place along updated path in 2029.

well, apophis is being diverted at this minuite, theres a 1 in 210,000 chance it will not hit and a 1 in 135 chance it will, becuase thers a small chance people post it too be doomsday, some people need to get a life and stop worrying about something that wont happen becuase nasa's best already have 6 methords of diverting it.

dont mean to burst your bubble mate but nasa astrobioligist's have stated that apophis is not big enough to cause a global or regional catastrophie even the dust and debris that is kicked up into our atmosphere would not be sgnificant enough tto block our sun

actually it would extremely destrucitve. Google: Siberian Tunguska impact of 1908. A MUCH smaller asteroid created a massive amount of destruction, luckily in an unihabited area of Russia. Apophis is quite a bit bigger.

you cant argue with the brains in nasa they work there because they are the best in there field of proffesion the reason it wont be that destructive and this is what they've said apohis wont just plummet into the earths crust it will circle the earth until it collides with us the amount of time it spins around think how much of it will burn away
