I dont know yet about A340-600 and A350 but they are comparatively as good. Yet to see the correlation of later products and EADS current defective Pitot tubes and A380 troubles.

The A340-500 was for a time the longest Range Aircraft in the World. Now its the 777-200LR though it selled way less numbers then the A340.Singapore,Etihad,Emirates­, still use it on longest range routes.Longest route Singapore-LAX.(18hours)

The longest range aircraft in the world is either the Voyager aircraft (now in the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum) flown by Dick Rutan and Jeana Yeager, or the Virgin Atlantic GlobalFlyer, piloted by Steve Fossett. Both craft flew around the world unrefueled, something no commercial aircraft can do.
