I lived on these streets all of my life, and it wasn't as bad as some would make it out to be! Most of those killed in the riots, we either looting, or out during a fucking riot!! Boo fucking Hoo!! Nobody is trapped anywhere, unless you are lazy, and want to be handed a living, or you sell dope!! It's no better now that it's all black, and never will be! When blacks stop being racist, then things will improve!!

The 1st police officer through the door of the after hours spot at 12th & Clairmont was a black officer. A racial incident did not spark the riot itself, but the tension between the black & in some cases white citizens of Detroit & the mainky white police force along with years of blacks being denied civil rights in the USA were the major underlying factors for the incident to grow & get out of control. Whites also looted during the riot. Thw Vietnam War did'nt help either.
Scare away the people who build businesses small and large and the people that would come and visit to spend their money and your bullshit violent culture is dead.

Why did they interview all of these younger people? There are still plenty of us around who were alive at the time and remember the riots first-hand. Not just something our grandmother told us about it.
The problem then and now, as shown by the people interviewed, is a lack of education. The rioters started the destruction of Detroit and it has never recovered. The white flight that greatly ensued after the riots was to get away from this type of activity. The cops of D are now mostly black and the populace still burns down and commits atrocious crimes in the city. What is their excuse now? Take pride in your neighborhood and clean it up!

My Father in law was a coroners assistant in the riots, he said that he saw more than 43 corpses in one truck load.

That is not true. Most of the police in Detroit are WHITE and they are not from Detroit nor do they live in Detroit. They could give 2 shits about us
