  • by the way i made a playlist called "Rescue 911 experimental episodes"

  • this year i'll dress as the rescuer in the camouflage shirt with a black sleeve underneath.

  • i'd have emhe come to my house and design my house as the dispatch center with a desk and a phone and the signs lol

  • fyi shatner wears the same clothes as on a tvguide article made in 1989 for RESCUE 911 in this episode.

  • joke: what candle would roman carry when in the flooded cave?: a Roman candle.

  • here's my joke related to this segment, what candle should roman think of when cave diving? , a roman candle.

  • here's another thing I've noticed about this segment no face narration meaning we just hear the victim/parent speaking but no face on camera.

  • how come they are not showing roman and michael hall's faces when they're talking, like most rescue 9-1-1- segments?

  • I have been in one side of this cave and out the other at least 25 times, nice place! Don't attempt when there is rapids coming out one end though..

  • I've seen this episode a handful of times, and I still get nervous going into Donaldson Cave whenever the water is high.

  • 0:27 Shatner has that "before you enter the cave, hear this warning" face.

  • Good story.

  • In response to Arnicaherb's comment,

Dispatch Centers were common places for Shatner to begin episodes, begin segments, and to deliver his closing statement to particular episodes as well. I believe he may have also been seen in fire stations and standing next to ambulances as well. Sceenery like this sets the mood for the show.

  • Where was this location at again, I can't make out what is being said here.

  • Spring Mill State Park in Indiana

  • Why is the host introducing the episode in a dispatch center, disturbing others at work??!!

  • he was allowed with special permission to host this show in a dispatch center because it's called Rescue 9-1-1-.

  • It's probably a set. Those are actors. It's to set the show up.

  • do you really think they're actors because we don't see the faces when roman and michael speak on screen?

  • LOL

  • because the show is called rescue 9-1-1- and a dispatch center is a perfect fit for an introduction along with the garages.

  • Dispatch Centers were a common place for episodes to be introduced, for segments to be introduced, and for Shatner to deliver his closing statements. I think he's also been seen in fire stations and standing next to ambulances. It sets the mude for the show.

  • hi allgood here's my suggestion if you think it's cool how about inserting the unused scene of rescuer crawling by himself in caveshaft?

  • *Points* Heeeeeey. At the beginning, when they enter on the stairway entrance, that side of the cave is dry (and I don't even know how high the water would have to get to flood it. Really high.) The later parts they were in aren't connected to the high, dry side of the cave; the dry side isn't all that big. They would have had to enter the cave one of the wet ways in order to get into it far enough to be trapped by the flood, I would think?

Either way, entertaining and good clip.

  • They may have filmed the beginning at different cave than the flood part.

  • As I looked through a second time, it looks like they must have either entered through the wet entrance of Donaldson (because they kept showing it, it's where the 'geyser' was) or they entered through Bronson and managed to get all the way to the entrance/exit of Donaldson. And yeah, the intro clip must have been filmed seperately, since it's in the unconnected potion of the cave.

  • yeah you know about the part in intro where it credits Jim Milio it shows a rescuer crawling through a cave?

  • this clip is available on ebay along with Springmill state park related items.

  • This reminds me of when I used to do mountain rescues in California.

We were always going past signs that warned people not to go unprepared into dangerous areas.

After a while, I began believing there really WAS validity to the phrase "Fools rush in where wise men fear to tread."

  • The phrase I've learned is "When people go on vacation they leave their brains at home."

  • Here's a cool suggestion from me how about the breif clip where it credits jim milio, use that clip as a vid response to this?

  • 6:03 yeah the guy in front of the 2 workers in cave resemble the intro.

  • 6:16 the dog looks like toto from "The wizard of oz".

  • 6:04 is my favorite scene.

  • 0:02 seems to be the longest shatner speech like #105.

  • 6:04,6:06 is my favorite scene.

  • hi beatlemoe you should do a Review of this Episode called "EXPERIMENTAL EPISODE".

  • in the credits where it says Coordinating producer....Jim Milio it shows a Rescuer climbing inside a caveshaft, would you strongly assume it would be this segment.

  • (comment continued), that this might have that scene in that segment as we see in the intro.

  • Here's why this segment is cool I never saw the CBS original, Just the Discovery Health version and I asked myself there's a scene in the intro where there's a rescuer in a caveshaft.

  • I used shatner's narration at 6:05-06 for my costume, "They tried to get to an old cave shaft time was running out"

  • last year for halloween I was Roman with a care package, coke and a pizza lol roman didn't have a pizza in the segment.

  • yah but is that cave salt water? the host said he was stuck there 2 days without food and water but if its fresh water anyone could stay in that cave for fucking days

  • this must be the very first cave rescue segment that is to follow others, allgood you should make a clip of all the cave rescue 911 segments.

  • Allgood's gone on strike! I can understand why, but I'd still like to see some more segments on here! If I had some of the episodes he needs, I'd send them to him in a heartbeat! As it is, I don't, but I'm sure there are plenty of users who have some of them. So if you do, please contribute to keeping a true reality show alive by sending them to Allgood2000 or BeatleMo!

  • Yes, I understand why Dave is on strike at this point. He is trying to get people deliver the missing, completed and uncut episodes so he would see them. So would I, but I still went to see the segments I wanted to see. If I had any recorded episodes of the show, I would get it to him. But unfortuately, I don't. If anyone has the missing episodes, please give them to AllGood2000 and BeatleMoe. And Dorvell, use the message the highest viewed episodes. It works faster that way.

  • What exactly is that? and how does it work faster?

  • Let's just say type in "Anyone who has the missing and completed episodes in Allgood2000 & BeatleMoe's profile board and BeatleMoe's montages, please send the videos to them." Higher viewed episodes might produce better results than the lower viewed ones like this one, the 955 one about about a capsized ship, the 709 donor search. You see what I mean?

  • Yeah. Thanks!

  • i've been in that cave loads of time. on the dry side, of course ;)

  • hi allgood2000 beatlemoe has the 2nd segment.

  • hi allgood2000 today is my birthday since i myself was born with a spinal chord defect called spina bifida, can you download the second segment of this episode?

  • Rescue 9-1-1- did alot of cave related rescues and if so which one is your favorite david?

  • This one is my favorite.

  • 3days...............FUCK

  • Those two guys want locking up for their own safety and the safety of the cave rescue teams.

Any one except the brain dead, should realise that you NEVER go caving with out having proper clothing, equipment and safety gear, one or more experienced cavers, a minimum of 4 people underground and at least a couple of people outside the cave system to help coordinate any rescue effort that might be needed.

I speak from 10 years experience as a caver.

  • I think you're forgetting that Mike and Roman were "Completely unprepared for what they would find." as Shatner stated in the intro to this story.

  • I fully understand that they were "Completely unprepared for what they would find". They were idiots who obviously are too uneducated to be capable of reading a large sign and through their inability to think and consider their foolish actions, they not only put their own lives at risk but even more importantly, they wilfully put other peoples lives at risk.

A sane person would not consider entering cave system without adequate safety equipment (t-shirts & swim shorts are not safety equipment.

  • Right, because NO ONE ever does anything risky in their youth, and especially not in their college years. Kids never act like kids, accidents never happen all over the world every day, adventure is not fun, there's no thrill to risk, and you're most certainly not arrogant piece of shit for cramming your self-righteous bullshit down our throats because you're perfect and never did anything stupid in your youth. Jesus, get over yourself, asshole.

  • DorvellTStewart my favorite parts of this segment is shatner's area of narration which this is the only episode to do that what parts in this eppie is your favorite?

  • What do you mean by, "Shatner's area of narration?" I can't really say which part of the segment is my favorite, all I know is that Shatner sounds a little quieter in this one than he normally does.

  • what I meant was the Different than usual Dispatch center that's only in this episode.

  • btw my livingroom computer room looks like the dispatch center at the beginning of this segment with the signs COMPUTER, WANTED, SHO-DI.

  • have you seen all the RESCUE 9-1-1- intros the rescue where it credits Jim Milio that scene of the cave rescuer is actually this segment?

  • At 06:04 I believe there's a deleted scene thats in the intro where the rescuer climbs in the cave but was unsuccessful.

  • At 8:43, thats my dad on the right side in the yellow helmet.

  • the one that is tall and has glasses and carrying roman to the ambulance right?

  • yup. he used to do cave rescues all around here for years

  • fuck really firefighter2532?

  • The only other times I've come across this story apart from a couple past views on youtube, were those times when it was featured on a 30 minute syndicated episode. It must have been painfull for Roman to be so thirsty, but unable to drink a drop of that water surrounding him.

wWhoever posts these rescue 911 stories, you make youtube worth logging onto in my opinion, but just out of curiosity, where did you get all these episodes if the show isn't out on dvd yet?

  • Some of them I recorded when the show still came on. Others were given to me by other people who recorded the show.

  • i remember this one! this kept me guessing what would happen next. i thought this would be one of the ones where there wasn't gonna be a happy ending.

  • go to tvshowsondvd, com and vote on rescue 911 to come out on dvd, rescue 911 has 435 votes

  • Some food and water would be good right about now, oops sorry, I had water all around me.. Yayyyyyyy great rescue attempt

  • Considering the different 911 center in this episode, do you suppose this was the first TAPED episode? Just a logical question.

  • No, they switched up the dispatch centers quite a bit. I think this may have been third taped episode, though. There were originally supposed to be three episodes of Rescue 911 before it was picked up as a series. This one was directed by Nancy Platt Jacoby who directed the two pilot episodes (normally episodes were directed by Mary Hardwick), and the Neo-Natal segment was filmed in March of 1989, when 911 was just supposed to be a three episode mini-series.

  • The Guy in this video has the same name as me Michael Hall

  • by the way I decorated my livingroom complete with the signs used in this episode, Computer, Wanted,

SHO-DI to make it look like the dispatch center in this episode.

  • ha ha ha ha, you are HILARIOUS!!!!

  • Tell me more and how and where did you get that cool stuff sounds cool

  • do you mean my livingroom decor, while I studied this and the 3rd segment more clearly and decorated it.

  • Yes cuz i would like to maybe do that with my office or something possably my living room

  • Cool segment because

    1. William Shatner stands in a different area of the command center at the opening

2.the scene were rescuers were digging in the cave resembles a scene that was in the Rescue 9-1-1- intro.

    3. episode #107 is the only episode to experiment with Scenery with shatner, Dispatch areas, Rescue Garages and music.
