I like the original sung by Greely, but for some reason his voice just never completely did it for me. Don't get me wrong, his voice is really good, but it's lacking just a little something that I can find in this version.

@kotarotacon The original version is from the original issue of the 'Night of the Stormrider' album, and yes, it is far better than this version. Barlow is a far greater vocalist to the guy on the original. but the sheer menace in the guys voice on the original version makes it far better. also the melodic part has a guitar in it instead of just a bass.

All of NOTSR is pretty much labeled as Thrash Metal but it sounds so fucking epic I just can't help calling alot of it Power Metal. I know the Power stuff really started to show on Burnt Offerings (the best way in my opinion) but I still feel Night of the Stormrider had a bit of Power Metal in it's soul.

greely didnt have much power in his voice, he sounds like a broken squeeky toy. i especially hate the vocals in the song iced earth... makes my ears bleed. in the rerecording with barlow it sounds wicked.

Barlow is a far better singer in general, probably my favourite metal vocalist, but greely sings nearly all the songs on NOTSR better, mainly because most of the songs are thrash metal. Barlow sings the start of Angels Holocaust and Stormrider better than greely tho
