Both Arthas and Illidan are awesome in their own way, but noone, and everyone should know this by now, noone, fucks with Frostmourne. That sword will render your body in multiple pieces with a single slash. Its got more power then Sauron did in the beginning of Lord of the Rings. You know, when he swings his mace and all those people fucking fly away from him. Illidan never stood a chance in this fight.

Illidan is empowered by Gul'dan's skull.

Arthas is empowered by Ner'zhul's sword.

Gul'dan was Ner'zhul's apprentice back when Draenor was still in one piece. Until he rebelled against his master, I recall. Calling him a cowardly old fool for not following through on a blood pact with some deamon. And sort of doomed the orcs to eternal war.

So technically, the master defeats the apprentice, after death, by proxy.

You won't kill Arthas...he is technically not Arthas after he fuses with Ner'Zhul. Anyway you won't need warglaives of azzinoth (Illidan's swords) to kill him...the lvl 80 epics will probably sadly out dps the lvl 70 legendaries...and even if the dps is close or the same...you can still do it without the warglaives. Chances are unless you get like cancer and the make a wish foundation gives you both swords (Like that kid with the phoenix mount), you won't get them both anyway Xd

Well Arthas won because his powers grew more the closer he was to the Frozen Throne. Illidan had the daemonic twin blades but arthas's Frostmourne was far more powerfull.
