My Dad had one of these as a company car for a short while. Got to bring it home every now and then. I absolutely LOVE the look of the late-model Continentals.
@kershaw95beast A buddy of mine had one and loved it he bought it new in 2002 and never had any serious issues with it. I don't know about a Lincoln as a first car though because repair cost and insurance will be high on a Lincoln than say a ford or chevy.
just bought a black 2000 Lincoln Continental... the one i got has nicer wheels than the one in this particular video... it's an INCREDIBLE car... Horsepower, Torque AND Luxury-- What a beautiful combination!!
You're referring to the chrome factory wheels right? My brother bought an '01 Continental in august. It has those wheels & every option except the heated seats. It's a really nice luxury car. I love that it has the Mark VIII engine as well. According to the specs I've read, it's just under 100 pounds heavier than the Mark VIII and it has better gearing, which should make up for the +90 something pounds. I'm very impressed with how hard it pulls. Enjoy your Conti!
reving the motor while the car is not moving and hurt your motor really bad and you are pretty much screwing the dealership by reving the motor the car will become a piece of crap so dont do it!!

That’s a really nice car. I was debating whether to get a Grand Marquis or a Lincoln Continental and now my choice is pretty clear lol question though, do all of the 2000 and up Continentals have the features as this one (dash, dual exhaust, seat controls, ect.)?
I have a 00 Continental myself. Pretty reliable car, I live on a farm and my mom would drive it across corn fields and through shallow ditches with it. That car went off-road more than our trucks lol.
I own it now. Has 120k miles on it and haven't had any problems really.
you're my hero man, I left a comment on the other vid for this vehicle I am buying one soon and this video helped me decide to call ahead and reserve the one I'm looking at I can't wait to own one of these baddies
That conti is in pretty good shape! These cars are great. Mine is parked because it needs a pwr steering pump but the job is 5hrs of labour. Its almost like having a luxoriuos Mustang. I ran a 14.66 eta with stock everything and 217000 MILES.
I have a 1995 lincoln continental and omfg I love it. Although my front left airbag on the strut is leaking, it still performs like a dream. 0-60 in 8 secs and a 12 sec 1/4 mile (fully stock). Great leather interior, automatic climate control, wood grain trim, great stock sound system, etc it's an amazing car. Oh, and did I mention 30 MPG highway??
you mean 15 sec 1/4 mile right? haha btw have you tuned it up yet? too bad you dont live in iowa i would offer to help change the plugs and ect just for the fun of it
haha we got a funny guy here LOL jk :P I just said that because I had some difficulties when it came to talking about the cars on here, had to type too much in comments haha, it's easier for messages :P
Yeah his just has more miles (or kilometers) I believe, they're great cars, fast, comfy, and have an awesome throaty exhaust even at normal cruising speeds!

@diecastcarcollecter lincolns don't really cost any more than a ford to repair in general actually. A lot of parts are shared between the two makes.

Out of interest, in 2000, was the Continental more expensive than the Town Car? They seem quite similar to me.
koobydotnet 1 year ago
@koobydotnet The town car would have been more, the are some what similar but the town car is much larger and has more room inside.

Factory is beautiful, not to mention reliable.
What ever happened to chrome on cars.
seems to have been forgotten about on modern cars.
I swear my buddies 86 signature series has a couple hundred pounds of chrome.
ganymedeIV4 2 years ago
@ganymedeIV4 its cuz they stopped making chrome bumpers for cars..........my old 80 Deville had some nice bumpers.
the non-sporty luxury cars usually have decent chrome
