The torture continue screens in Final Fight really loved to tease you single freaking time you lose. It's like the game is just laughing in your face. Man, I'm sure glad that Streets of rage, Turtles in time, or Double Dragon didn't have that. Its very infamous in the game. If they had a Final Fight 4 what torture screen will they think of next?

The more the Final Fight series advanced, the more awful these tortures became. The dynamite was probably too much for a single person (but, given the fact that these guys alone can beat the crap out the whole freakin' gang through 3 games). The flooding trap and this spike ceiling (gee, these things sound like traps from Saw movies) are a little bit TOO MUCH.

Then again, they're against a powerful gang or mob, wouldn't they methods have to be cruel? 8D

that's why i always prefer streets of rage series over final fight, cuz when i lose a continue on streets of rage game, i don't have to worry about seein all those tortures in those continues, just aregular continue honestly all those tortures continue screens on the final fight series was just unneccesarry

@fightlover187 Haha, they were just pressure methods to have you waste more coins on the Arcade (else, the character gets it). The Ninja Gaiden one for example: was quite horrible and unnecessary (but very silly at the same time).

We used to have less tolerance for this kind of violence before. So, these deaths might come as shocking and make you walk away from the Arcade before seeing the end (which never happened).
