This tune back in the day was the DJs last resort if he couldnt get the crowd dancing. Once he put it on it was like a 999 call and one by one they would peel away from the bar step by step bopping their head and strutting their feet to the dance floor. Massive bassline!
@badboysouluk - You saved me again! I heard the beat to this track, spent ages looking for it, then find yet another BIG track on your page. Thanks man. Love this song!!
@warrenkc15 That Nas remix has been uploaded by a few ppl on Utube, I have that 12" but Nas has never made an album greater than his debut his follow up 2nd lp was such a dissapointment you could tell he was aiming for mainstrean success Street Dreams, etc, one of the 90s best rappers even if his style is very much Rakim's
@warrenkc15 For me Jungle was ruling the 90s I loved the chopped up beats, Ragga Samples, Basslines & eerie atmospheres it was so fresh & unique at a time when all these other genres had been around for a time & started to become formulaic which is exactly what happened to Jungle in the end ala DnB from 96 onwards, still some decent beats around now if you look below the surface like most things in music 80% of what im hearing now im not feeling
@warrenkc15 You got some nice beats you put together on your channel!!
Good to hear you into digging up the old breaks rather than using the bland synth, keyboard styles which are more popular in mainstream Rap today, Keep The Boom Bap Funk Alive!!!!
Let me be more clear: I tried to find this version of the song and that took me 5 years.
I got a 12 inch vinyl version of I can't get no sleep and there are 5 versions on it. The down low mix is one of them and also the down low instrumental is on it.
6min09 sec and 5min14.
So the low down mix is a mix on the 12inch version of the song.
I also got the '95 remix on 12 inch vinyl with 4 versions and the one named Dreamin'mix starts really beautiful with a very long accapella. Fantastic!
Been looking for this so long, used to have it on an old swingmix 96 CD I think ??? but every version I found was different, I stopped looking ages ago but thought would try today and found your upload... AMAZING !!!!
Many many thanks its now ripped and on my phone forever..

And atlasperros: The 12 inch that I have was released in 1993 on Cutting Records and had no printed sleeve.
The remix version with also the dreamin' mix was released in 1995 and the vinyl version had the same front as the pictures above and is from am/pm
ferry34 2 years ago
The 1995 release came in two editions of 12 inches: the one wich had the low down mix and an other one that I have with the dreamin' mix version.
