WMAQ NBC 5 in Chicago often cuts too early to the network feed and the last few frames of the countdown and the "beep" make it on the air

Yes I've noticed that happens a lot myself. WBBM-TV (CBS 2) & WLS-TV (ABC 7) don't seem to have that problem. In fact, recently I noticed that CBS 2 has started to join the network feed late - resulting in viewers missing a headline or two at the beginning. But I'm SURE NBC 5 will NEVER have that problem :)

Last week, CBS 2 joined so late that Katie was already talking about the 1st story. Not the 1st headline, the 1st STORY.

On the topic of local news, the other week I was watching WJAR's morning news program when the fire alarm went off, causing the evacuation of the building while they were on air. The station then played the logo and theme music over and over for the remainder of the newscast.

Did you record that by chance?? And I'm guessing they did some sort of SPECIAL REPORT to update` you on the outcome, when they got back on the air?

I can see putting the logo on, but playing the music over and over? That's just annoying!

The biggest thing I remember locally was when a drunk driver crashed his car into WLS-TV (ABC 7) studios here in Chicago.
