I never understood how a black man succeeding suddenly puts his "love for his people" in question. I see this shit in school all the time. Tavis has this bullshit State of the Black Union event often, and for the most part he has the same people West, Dyson,and Waters there. They talk about the same shit year in and year out with out little to anything to show for it. They get an audience of like minded people to cheer for them and they feel so part of the black community. This video is from early 2008, and Cornel obviously is aware of Obama's corporate and banking leanings. Yet, he campaigned heavily for him at the end of the year. Cornel, despite his massive levels of wisdom and knowledge, helped set this country back and defeat progressive ideals for years to come. That is, of course, after Obama voted repeatedly to fund the wars and for illegal immunity for telecomm companies; later, abandoned public campaign financing. Come on Cornel, think better in 2012.

This says it was added 3/30/08, but when did this event take place? I watched West speak about Obama a long time ago; he was talking in a more professional manner. Shortly after that Obama spoke to him and West joined Obama's campaign. West makes no sense here; on the one hand "this is true for any candidate" but hold s Obama to higher standards. Obama is going to be held accountable to all citizens, not lobbyists.
