Mariah's early whistle was awesome. Her training was superb. As she's gotten older she has let a lot of her early vocal training slide and her whistle has a slight rough edge to it now. That is the case with almost all of the singers in this montage. If you listen closely you will hear that the edge of notes seem ragged. This is because of improper training and trying to force the notes.

@ablackguy1234567 The problem I have with Minnie and alot of the other users is they dont have alotta control PITCH WISE, they fall out of key so easily and it becomes harsh to the ears when u have something that high in frequency going up against they original key of the music
Kandi from Xscape, Lisa Fischer and Christina Aguilera all have that register as well. I honestly feel as though Mariah and Debelah are the best because they can actually sing and incorporate it in their music without it coming off as doing just because they can. Shanice is really good live with hers as well. Minnie is probably the most notable, but I've never regarded her as one of the better vocalists. That register is probably the only thing that kept her relevant, imo.

Because is not just about being able to whistle but also make it pleasant to the ear and Mariah Carey does that easily. Kandi from Xscape, Lisa Fischer and Christina Aguilera all have that register as well. I honestly feel as though Mariah and Debelah are the best because they can actually sing and incorporate it in their music without it coming off as doing just because they can. Shanice is really good live with hers as well. Minnie is probably the most notable, but I've never regarded her as one of the better vocalists. That register is probably the only thing that kept her relevant, imo.

It's sad that a lot of folks have the opinion that Mariah's is the best. However these r clips & I would say some of the other women can give Mariah a run for the money because of creative flow & transitions.

minnie, mariah, and debelah are the best whistle vocalists period. chante is good but somewhat limited. shanice's notes are impressive but a little sharp to the ears and soulless. deniece is....ok. and any woman whose name wasn't mentioned in this comment, PLEASE STOP TRYING TO MAKE THE WORLD DEAF

This is pretty cool. I couldn't listen to it all of the time, but it is still amazing to hear. Minnie, Mariah, Shanice, Rachelle, Betty and Chante are the only ladies that I like on this list. Although the other ladies are great, I think Minnie, Mariah and Betty have the highest registers. However, Minnie, Mariah and Chante sound very sweet and subtle, which I like.

Okay-The second lady and Deneice Williams should not be on this list as neither of those clips demonstrated whistle tone but rather the highest end of the soprano register. The other ladies, yes! Best control over their whistle register-Chante, Betty, Rachelle, and Minnie. Thanks for posting this.

All of these woman are amazing vocalists. But Mariah is simply the best hands down. Because is not just about being able to whistle but also make it pleasant to the ear and Mariah Carey does that easily. Some of these singers may be able to go higher than her like Georgia Brown who holds some Guiness World Records for having the widest vocal range by a female but she is painful to watch and hear. Minnie, Rachelle and Betty Wright are legendary. But MARIAH takes the 1st place.

Minnie was great and she was the best at holding her high notes but Mariah's techiques are the best ones. The others' high notes are kinda annoying, especially Georgia Brown's (and she scared me a little !!!). Mariah is the #1 at hitting super high notes. Anyone who's got a proper ear can realize that !
