at the beginig it's better if you dont wash your hair like for two weeks or some (depending on what kind of hair u have)but then u can wash it like once a week.. if u wash em every day, they would never lock so it's gonna look crapy..

I think the technique is called "latch-hooking". Basically, you take a dread and put it through the root of the dread, and pull it out the other end.

I tried this once myself, and the experiment failed. Oh, well. Everything else I've attempted has worked, like palm rolling, twisting and ripping.

Now that my dreads are over a year old, the only maintenance to be done are the roots every few months.
