I do not take gay Republicans seriously. Why would anyone want to defend their sworn oppressor for? In fact, other than the DADT repeal, conservatives and Republicans have done nothing good for the GLBT community in over 30 years.

@j4unumber1 Andrew Sullivan has always been a brave gay conservative. I do not always agree with him but he is not a self-loathing gay as many on that side of the political spectrum are. And he is right, at that time in the Obama administration, they had done nothing to fulfill their promises of the 2008 election. Since the 2010 election, they have done more (DADT repeal, DOMA litagation) to support the LGBT community.

Today, 9/21/10, 56 Democrats (95%) voted to overturn DADT. 41 Republicans (100%) voted to keep it. The latter were joined by the two Dems from Arkansas plus Harry Reid, who cast a no-vote only to retain the option to bring it up again--though clearly it will have zero chance if the GOP takes control.

Fools like Andrew Sullivan may rant about HRC and the Dems, but this vote made it clear which party is on the right side. Gays have the power to change this in November. WILL THEY??

As for HRC, they have failed to hold Obama and the Dems accountable, and they continue to hand over our community's money, time and support with little or nothing to show for it. Ask them why they aren't insisting on a vote on the Domestic Partnership Benefits & Obligations Act, seeing as how it has already passed out of committee, or why they don't insist that ENDA receive a vote. What about DADT? No, it seems obvious to me that HRC needs to qualify the LGBT Community's support with results.
