i have 10 trash found computers the lowest specs is pentium 4 2.8 ghz 2gb ram...... and the hightest 3.2 pentium d 3gb ram....with my facebooking, youtubing, emailing, online music, online tv shows....they all perform good..... thats why there is no reason for me to buy a new computer yet
But my old i5-520M has only 2 cores and it supports hyper-threading. In fact, most of the i5 processors have 2 cores and support hyper-threading if I'm not mistaken.
I do believe that if youre a gamer like me and dont do so much multitasking, the core i5 is the right choice , i can afford the core i7 but is just stupid, you will never use 8 cores in a game, unless ure recording ure game or doing some renders , which i never do.
@phantumgrey Yes. Modern is a Class it does NOT mean "recent". Just like any HTML5 compatible browser is a "modern" browser even if it is 2 years old. Any car after 1978 uses a "Modern Catalytic converter"
Your wrong. If you get any CPU with 4 cores today, they will be able to run any software across all cores even if the application has not been optimized to do so
@renegade8164 I decided at the last minute I didn't want the MW vs BF holy war in the comments :-) Otherwise I'd have picked something newer, but being on camera when I came to that decision I froze, and couldn't remember if Quake and Doom were still new, and which came out more recently.
@alielmir2 GPU stands for graphics processing unit. It only processes graphics, that's all, it's completely dedicated to graphics processing. APU I believe is an AMD product, in which the CPU and GPU are on the same die, allowing for really powerful graphics processing. :)
Is it AMD NEW version APU support Hyper threading....such as AMD E series,AMD A series A4,A6,A8.....pls reply....

@4everskyline718 The Gen 2 and Gen 3 I5's do, the first gen did not.

@BlackwaterOpsDotCom Well at least you made an attempt to sound smart.

Mine has both haha :D

You used wrong examples. For example, Quake and Doom does not use multiple cores.
alexanderjurjens 5 months ago
@alexanderjurjens Doom 3 and Quake 4 both support 4 cores/threads as do any game based of an id engine since.

@BlackwaterOpsDotCom That can very well be, but you didn't mention those games :)
But I'm a lenient guy, so I'll think that you meant the franchises :)

BLOOMS 5 months ago
@BLOOMS No, You have to have multi-threaded apps. If an app isn't designed to be thread safe it won't use any more than 1 CPU.

@BLOOMS You're wrong.

Haha Quake and Doom... I thought you would say Modern Warfare 3 or Battlefield 3 (recommended specs is quad-core haha)^^,

@Kuckti15 It is more complex than that, but So that I don't get it wrong, I'm making sure I have all the answers before I make this series of vids.

@BlackwaterOpsDotCom Just going off of what little I've read. Can't seem to find a lot of info on APU's for some reason..
