it may take quite a while to gain speed and technical skills like displayed here, and probably with all of your favourite keyboardists.

it's really rewarding though, It's really a beautiful instrument, and adds so much to any music. plus its one of the best, if not the best instrument(s) for playing by yourself, because of its range and the fact you can play two lines (or more, as you get better) at once.

So yeah. If you have the time, take it.

well i would reccommend practicing "tremolo picking" on the keyboard. use both your index and middle finger to hit the same note in succession. i do it when i play six by all that remains. so go index... middle... index... middle... and keep getting faster and faster.

also, you can train your hand by over-all practice to move that way. it takes time, however.

The only part I disagree with is the fact that he never claimed to be a great composer, just claimed that his version (even if his "version" is just a tempo change) is "amazing". Being that "Amazing" is a point of view and not a fact, it cant be right or wrong. I personally thought his speed was very impressive though.

Very fast yes, emotional? NO. He plays very mechanically, I don't sense much or no feelings in this music. Now if you can play really fast and with feeling, then there you have it. I rather prefer a slow, easy song with emotion and feelings, rather than a plain, technical, mechanical crazy run that is gray.

There are also two things that can hide bad playing:

Really long sustain (and in this case reverberating room) and playing really fast. And the sounlevel is so low that you sometimes just here his franatic hammering on the keys and not the sound from the keyboard. I would have loved to see him playing normal with good audio in a dry setting (no reverb or big bad room).
