My son was a USMC tanker, a decorated veteran of Gulf War I. Apparently he was a little too young to work Graves Detail (20). He came home with a bad case of PTSD. Five years after the war, he ended his life.

Why? Bush and Cheney screwed up. They thought Iraq would be a cakewalk - THEY WERE WRONG. Iraq still is not producing 1/2 of the oil that it was producing before the invasion.
There are other factors as well - the oil companies are apparently happy with constricting supply and driving up the price. And Bush and Cheney don't care about this profiteering either...

I'm really glad you posted this video as it shows ignorance's and opinions of both sides of the conversation.
But in defence of soldiers, they don't start wars. Politicians start wars and soldiers are their means of carrying out that action.
There was considerable opposition to the war in both US and UK military circles. But they were ordered into carrying out the wishes of the commander in chiefs, i.e. Bush and Blair. It's not a coincidence that so many have left the UK forces since then.

Countless number of experts told the President that the Iraqis had nothing to do with this and had no real weapons of mass destruction. With the attack on Afghanistan the world would understand. By engaging in this illegal war sandwiching Iran on both sides, America has forced Iran to act proactively to fight their influence so close to their borders.

Also, not to totally justify the WMD case, but it is known now that Saddam had purposely disseminated false information about his weapons program in order to deter Iran from invading them. However, that would probably would have been found out if Bush had let Hans Blix finish up his investigation before committing us to war. Bush really is an asshole.

If our objective had been to overthrow Saddam, then the proper justification would have been there (instead of WMD). Even given that, it was still the wrong time. We should have finished up in Afghanistan before involving ourselves in other conflict. As for leaving Iraq, we owe them now at least a stable govt I say give them 1 more yr and then pull out

Bush, his administration and Mr. Cheney were trying to tie Saddam with Al Qaeda all during 2002. They claimed that Iraq was harboring Al Qaeda terrorists; that there was an Al Qaeda training base in Iraq; that an Iraqi agent had met with 9-11 hijacker Mohammed Atta.

Yes, of course they were, but even at the time it was known that no Iraqi's were involved. Only those who chose to ignore the facts and listen to Bush and Fox News were mislead. The WMD case, however, wasn't obvious from start and the lie wasn't uncovered until sometime in 2004, so being mislead in that case can be viewed as acceptable.

My son was a USMC tanker, a decorated veteran of Gulf War I. Apparently he was a little too young to work Graves Detail (20). He came home with a bad case of PTSD. Five years after the war, he ended his life.
Brave, smart, good, funny kid, turned into compost by bad US foreign policy and bad veteran care.
That cured me of conservatism!

Really!! I was so frustrated and amazed at how no one ever really asked a tough question. For some reason, he became so popular after 9/11 that he got away with anything! To disagree with him was almost like being unpatriotic. I hadn't seen anything like that since the early days of the anti-Vietnam movement. Because we invaded Iraq, we did not have enough troops fighting in Afghanistan. Bush and his cronies are war criminals.
