TRADING is not the same as being a GAMBLER OR A BETTOR.A GAMBLER plays for fun to feel good or feel adrenalyne does not care about the outcome.the bettor wants to be right no matter if hw makes money his ego is at stake.the trader wants to make money and uses a method or edge and has always calculated risks.
I like the physical setup you have there, but I would suggest adding some color to liven up the workspace and stimulate creativity. Always helpful for me at least.
With all the trading you do how are you able to manage all the buys and sells and not drive your accountant insane. Along with the Wash Ruel , end of year accounting seems to be incredibly difficult to sort out while you remain focused on your job as a day trader.
I am using TD Ameritrade and these 2 things tend to be a distraction in this line of work. Not to mention keeping the IRS off your back and your accountant's tax preparation bill reasonable
i know a guy that doesn't use any indicators.and he does money incredibly accurate.he says all the indicators lag and all is price action and price acceleration.i believe he is right.
Is there any way you can recommend some reading material that would be good to start with to learn how to day trade. I am going through Wealth Intelligence Academy course work which really focuses on swing trading but I am looking to get into day trading.
@craigelliottmusic I've been trading a very long time. I would suggest reading: Trading For A Living, The Secrets Of Economic Indicators, Technical Analysis Of The Financial Markets ,and as many web-cast your on-line brokerage offers. Read Wall St Journal or Financial Times, daily. I would stay away from expensive soft ware and seminars. Practice and back test before using your own money. There will ALWAYS be good buying or selling trades for the taking. Good Luck!!
I feel ya bro, that's what i've been telling my trader friends, they only trade like two or four symbols all the time, and they try to master it, i'm not like that, i take advantage of all stocks/futures/options/etc.. and try to make money whenever i can..
I got married to bank of america, to expensive to divorce right now

there are people who just trade say....2 different index futures. and thats alllll they watch every day.
other people are willing to trade any of the thousands of stocks/futures/bonds that exist.
depends on what u like.

trading is not luck.luck is going to the casino/.

Part of trading IS just relying on pure luck. I'd say about 30%.
Sure you can narrow the stocks by criteria, etc. etc.
But ultimately you have to pull the trigger on one - hoping it goes in your favor.

What are you basing that magical 30% number on?

It is true. If trading is luck, then the market is luck so is the economy. If the economy is luck?!, I am not living in that country!
