  • Great playing by Roland.

  • So did Billy Die? for the song Dead Billy.

  • thanks for the Big Black posts

  • Santiago is the guitar talent in Big Black really, Steve is responsible for their wall of sound.

I wouldn't call him a genius, but he is a very good sound engineer with very high standards.

Big Black was about sound and concept, each member was just as much a genius as each other.

Oh, and if that is not a drummachine, I want to know the drummer's name and the year they became a cyborg.

  • @megamarkd Steve got Pat Byrne to do drumming for their Bulldozer EP in 84' But that was it, the rest of their work is using a roland drum machine.

  • @Gambler2112 Ah yes but "Shotgun" is from Racer-X, hence the TR drum sounds.

  • @megamarkd come on man you said each member was just a genius as each other but making an album so powerfull with a mixpult borrowed for a case of a beer is something not everyone can do(hammer party)!!! regarding the drumms, you're right but i self had played several of their songs on basic drumkit....i do understand you anyway 'cause some idealise albini with no regards to the others....but if you listten you can hear the same (guitar) patterns after the b.b......

  • @megamarkd Albini was just as responsible for the guitar as he was the engineering of the records. He contributed more to the band than any other member as it was HIS band.

  • @megamarkd, well said.

  • @serpico89...No question.An absolute musical &

    studio engineering genius.

  • steve albini is hands down a genius.
