I have the same exact thing in the same 2 spots! It's driving me crazy and I don't pull my hair back very often so it's not from tension. I guess I'll try massaging those spots with oil..I don't know what else to do.

I can't wear my hair back a lot..or when i do i have to kinda gently smooth it in the direction then tie it down w/ a scarf after adding some moisture to get it flat..instead of snatching it up and flattening with tension. ...those temple hairs are fragile and temperamental for me. when i wore braids they were always the areas to bail out on me. 'Tiny Tim' and 'Broke Down Betty' don't like to be bothered. LOL!

hey, i just stumbled onto your channel and saw this video. just wanted to say that balding and thinning in this area is not uncommon for womwn to experience. i fist noticed breakage in this area back in about 1995. I was still perming at the time so i just assumed the breakage would just grow back. It has never gotten worse but to this day it's thin and very short. my sister-in-law has the same issue. i asked my beautician about this and she sees it all the time.

I've been using emu oil on my edges and I've seen some growth. I was even able to put a baby twist on my edge. Lol

ok suga i have the same problem and i was told that they were cowlicks but ive noticed that that area of my head waxes and wanes it grows and stops for some reason. it never grows as long as the rest of my hair but there is always a patch of fuzz right there so im happy with that

I don't know how much has to do with the growth oil.

I think it has to do with:

1)Keeping your scalp clean in the area

2)Massaging the area brings more blood to the area. Blood=encourages growth

3)Consciously being more gentle with those area.

4)Oil helps to seal in moisture

I am no doctor or professional, but these are my opinions about the matter.

I have the same thing going on with my edges as well. (Longer near the top of the ears, sparse around the front/temple areas.) My mom also has it too...so I'm thinking maybe it's suppose to look like that. O.o I think I'll give that wild growth oil a try and see what happens. :-)

I thought that the braids I wore may have caused the issue, but it could be a lot of things. I am on a hair challenge with tiny Tim and broke down Betty too, but I am using castor oil. I use it every night before I go to bed on those spots and rub it in. I tried the wild growth oil that mess stinks, lol. Not sure if it did anything for me and I probably was not consistent either. But I am seeing a difference.

@kandikam00 From doing research, "they" use fish oil in some of the bags and the cats are attracted to it. My cat will eat the bag and throw up. :( She always finds them. We have to keep them up out of the way.
