Pretty cool to show the Apple masses, as they have become a parody of the thing Apple was trying to "break out of" in the 1984 commercial. Pity it wasn't a more direct parody of the Apple ad, and that it ended with a silly love story. I love the little man going against the crowd, why did he just want to pick up some Apple fangirl?

For $599 I'd rather get the iPad, jailbreak it, and have all the apps for free. Customize anything i want, run amazing jailbroken apps. Thats what i do on my iPhone, i can create a wi-fi hotspot thanks to the jailbreak, and TRUE multitask thanks to backgrounder app from the jailbreak (cydia app store), and even put my own personal fart as a keybord stroke sound if i wanted! I just heard a lot of farts!

I love this commercial. It raises the point that Apple has become the company they have made fun of for years. Everything that I loved about Apple is no more. We are no longer the rebel geeks but the embracers of conformity. I'll still buy Macs but iOS forces a singular user experience with no hardware variation. That is why I've embraced the fragmented Android because I feel that I can control the experience. (written on my Droid Incredible using Swype, lol.)

They aren't as well made as Apple products. They're cheap plastic, get hot, plus I have no desire to have an open source OS. It's a hackers dream. I'll pay for proprietary, thanks. No phone is perfect, but for me, the iPhone is still on top. And I'll buy an iPad II when it comes out. Don't have one now.

Pretty soon people will be holding iPhones and iPads and realize everyone has them. Then they will see unique Android phones/tablets that are superior in hardware and software, and they are compatible with things other than Apple created hardware. Think DLNA, HDMI, USB, microSD, etc.

Just about everyone I know has a product from Apple of some sort. The alternatives are not as streamlined, easy to use, bug and crash free, cool looking as those from Apple. I know one person currently that still has an Android device. The Motorola Droid X. Crashes a lot. Buggy. Crappy Motoblur. Forced closes a lot. And on top of all that it sometimes randomly shuts itself off. 3rd replacement now. People remember that and see their friends with iPhones and no problems there.

I think Apple learned its lesson and its rise is indicative of that. I wish more companies would follow Apples lead and focus on customer experience. The numbers don't lie. Apple consistently ranks #1 in customer service and satisfaction. If Moto can do this, great. But the jury is still out.
