How was it not cheating? Wasn't that the Iron Fist he used, which he wasn't supposed to unless it was for justice? And a tournament isn't an unjust situation.

He didn't actually use Iron Fist (at least not on his opponent). Had he done that, there would be bloody palm-prints all over the other guys body. You can see that in the finale when he REALLY starts to beat the shit out of people.
