  • I'm the smartest person I know. It occurs to me that in another country I may well be considered borderline retarded. I should move to one of those countries. It's high time people fell over themselves to dumb shit down for me.

  • Let' be fair. The FDA thing was a trick question.

  • GOLD ! LOOK AT ALL THE COMMENTS ! DUMB F#*%S

  • Mr. Maher is such a lolmonster.

  • America's Biggest problem = existing.

Yes, every single existant american on earth should feel the worst possible pain that exists for ever.

  • @GameReviewer1987 Agreed

  • @GameReviewer1987 So in your world view, Caylee Anthony got what was coming to her for being an American? Continue enjoying the Internet, it's America's gift to you, free of charge.

  • @GameReviewer1987

    Trolololololololol

  • @GameReviewer1987 You are an idiot.

  • He hits the nail on the head every time. I love my country, but I am pretty ashamed of most my countrymen and those who represent my flag - for reasons such as what he said, and so on.

  • @jdub94ful

I'm right there with you brother.

The funny thing is I consider myself a more of a conservative than anything else. And I absolutely refused to vote for the ticket with Palin, because she's just plain stupid. But instead of the party actually taking a hint, this time around they're all grasping for batshit crazy.

You think you're ashamed? Imagine how I feel every time someone in leadership of my political party opens their mouth.

    /em slit wrists

  • ...i can gaurantee that half the people who spew relgious crap today, do it becasue it sells, they do it becasue there will be some stupid fearful ignorant people who will beleive it, relgion is a tool that power hungry, greedy and immoral people will use becasue, people beleive it, and becasue they can manipulate it. look at the republicans, do you think half of them beleive the shit they say? most don;t but it sells and gets them popular with those who do, that is Americas problem gullibility

  • also sincx ehtis seems to be a higly debated topic, i am christian, but i am not stupid, i beleive in the the true meanings of the bible. love everyone, be kind, be genrous, be a good person and do the right thing, however let me tell people this, religion is the greatest form of social control, and the use of fear and intimidation as well as acts of violence are perfect to get people to do and beleive what you want, however hypocrisy happens, becasue people abuse it, taking advantage..

  • Maher was right on the money the US is one of the stupidest nations i have ever seen, there are some very smart epople and i have met many however the majority are ignorant, stupid, easily manipulated, fearful and pathetic, however despite ignorance it's not their fault, see america is really run by the 1%, the ruling class of wealthy and powerful.and the best way to keep yourself wealthy and powerful is too keep the lower classes stupid and fighting themselves, while you rake in the goods

  • Im the 100 000th.

  • Oh and let me append my previous post to say: I do NOT blame teachers for this. I blame the non-involvement of parents in their childrens' lives and education. Teachers cannot help enough when they also have to babysit a roomful of kids who have not been taught to cherish education at home.

  • Students are not encouraged to think, reason, or read newspapers and magazines. When I read my students' writing, I wonder what planet they have come from, as they cannot keep a train of thought in linear manner from beginning to end. And American voters seem to detest education and seem to think it's "uppity" to be literate and informed about their system of governement. This was NOT the case when I was growing up in the 50s and 60s.

  • TYPING LIKE THIS MAKES MY COMMENTS LOUDER THAN YOURS AND PROVES THAT I AM RIGHT AND EVERY ONE WITH NONCAPS ARE WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Maher for president!

  • I think people don't knw about all those things because it really doesn't fukin matter if u knw, the fact of the matter is we are all bound to die so why care about this useless things

  • @MsAndjusticeforall It's one thing to not know something but, if one is uninformed about a matter one should not participate in any discussion about it or participate in system requiring said knowledge. Pol.ed. is in so far relevant because people are biologically bound to live in communities. This has already been known centuries ago. Communities are bound to organize themselves. Governments are being elected to keep large communities afloat. Knowledge of government helps serve common interests

  • I think peop

  • I used to debate about this like you, then I took an arrow to the knee

  • Well! You used the word "refute" in a wrong way!!!!

  • Almost half (49%) of U.S. pregnancies are unintended, i.e. more than 3 million unintended pregnancies per year. Worldwide, 38% of pregnancies were unintended. Condoms are difficult to use folks!

  • @checkyoursources Why do you think the anti-abortion and anti-condom people think it will end humanity? They don't know where kids come from, and have their children purely by accident.

I am of course joking, but it's a funny coincodence.

  • I agree that the sleep of reason is a problem, I just happen to think that the use of reason leads away from liberalism, atheism, secularism.

  • @BalladoftheWindfish No one cares what you happen to think.

It is a fact that the most highly educated people tend towards liberalism, atheism, and secularism. If you don't like that, too fucking bad, because facts have nothing to do with what you like.

Go ahead and tap out your inane response, and I'll just continue listening to physics professors instead.

  • @BalladoftheWindfish i'm curious how exactly does reason lead away from secularism? i mean i know you're argument for how reason leads away from liberalism and atheism. "those are things i don disagree wif so i finks dat dat derr reason leads to conservatism and theism". When all the facts and evidence suggests otherwise, but i've never heard anyone claim reason leads away from secularism so please enlighten me. Do you even know what secularism is?

  • rubbish. intelligence is not defined by what you know. it is how you understand things. i am sure a large number of americans have some very clever theories on baseball or football, or even the dynamics of The Simpson characters. the problem is they are kept completely in the dark in regards who is running their "country" and how that is done. as far as i can tell- they actually believe they are a democracy. not stupid- just very, very misinformed.

  • @wirelessmedialtd The majority of Americans are willfully misinformed. That's the problem. You can tell them an argument which is logical, based on correct facts, and politically neutral, and if they don't like the conclusion they'll call you an asshole for having made it.

That's dumb and there's no fix for it. You can't teach people who don't want to know.

  • @wirelessmedialtd I don't see them going out of their way to become better informed. As Maher put it, they are "willfully ignorant," which is unacceptable in a country that allows the degree of freedom it does. America has no dictatorship or secret police preventing people from asking questions or learning the truth, its citizens are just too damned lazy to do it, and are happy believing whatever they want, regardless of whether or not it is true.

  • Bill "Doodyface" O'reilly !@.. I love that

  • I remember the last time I talked a college chick into war and out of healthcare. Oh, good times.

  • I define stupidity as "willful ignorance". Now, everyone choose to not learn about something or other, but I reserve the term for those who make it a career to be stupid. I've created the following phrase to say what I mean:

"Ignorant people lack knowledge, but can be taught. Stupid people are ignorant, but refuse to learn." - Me

  • Where's your evidence KYLE? :P It's already futile to ever believe a word you say, due that you provided you're actually considered to be in the statistics of ignorant, biased, lack of logic, and critical thinking. You're only mocking your own micro culture. :P

  • @BammieBanana yeah well you're gay

  • @NCrowsY

Oh damn. My feelings are super hurt. :3 YOUUUU GOT ME!!!!

  • someone answer me please. Does Bill Maher believe george bush had prior knowledge of 9.11?

  • @jayot33

    No...

  • @jayot33

He has to, because it's true. There is evidence - actual documents - that proves it.

  • And of course Rick Perry wants to get rid of the department of education.

  • The Americans are entertained into stupidity. The price will be high. It's slavery.

  • lol atheists are so dumb

  • @NCrowsY No theists are fucking dumb, they believe there is an invisible man in the sky.

  • @martyaus2905 No atheists are fucking dumb, they believe they are the ultimate beings despite being dumb and lazy.

  • @NCrowsY Dumb and lazy? Some of the greatest minds are atheists, theists have lower IQ's.

  • @martyaus2905 haha nope nope atheists are dumber

  • @NCrowsY haha just look at the statistics you dumb god believer

  • @NCrowsY

No offence but the average atheist knows more about your religion then the average follower of your religion...

  • @Picasso43967 no you're wrong

  • @NCrowsY Actually YOU are wrong and unlike you, I will provide evidence. Here you go.

    watch?v=b2Vxuaga_pA

  • @thelordmemnoch lol obviously biased

  • @NCrowsY Please provide evidence.

  • @thelordmemnoch i did

  • @Picasso43967 as a nondenominational minister i so agree with you

  • @martyaus2905 prove it

  • @martyaus2905 citation please, or do you just expect me to believe what you say on blind faith?

  • @Ozymandias495 Just take it on faith.

  • @NCrowsY Prominent scientists in the United States and United Kingdom appear to accept the existence of a god less than the public. A 2008 survey of Royal Society fellows "found that only 3.3 per cent believed in God" compared to 68.5 per cent of the UK public. A poll in the previous decade of the American National Academy of Sciences showed that only 7 percent of its members believed in God.

  • @NCrowsY Firstly, using data from a U.S. study of 6,825 adolescents, the authors found that atheists scored 6 IQ points higher than those adhering to a religion.

Secondly, the authors investigated the link between religiosity and intelligence on a country level. Among the sample of 137 countries, only 23 (17%) had more than 20% of atheists, which constituted “virtually all... higher IQ countries.” both quotes are directly from Wikipedia which got it from Intelligence magazine, you are wrong

  • I knew all the answers to his questions, what do I win?

  • @kozzy18

    Canadian citizenship. ;)

  • @Fireholder1 Yay!

  • @Fireholder1 you rule

  • dumbest yet the most powerful? huh, ill take it

  • @3eyedCyclopz You should, especially since you're uneducated enough to use the synonym for 'sick' in your statement.

  • @RoosterTreeComicLit your name has an synonym for "cock" in it as well, very, very fitting :)

  • @3eyedCyclopz As obsessed as you are with 'ill' & 'cock,' you must have great control of your gag reflex.

    I approve.

  • @RoosterTreeComicLit I really hope your not as your profile describes. A 40 year old cartoonist (very likely fat/ borderline obese) who try's to to insult people on youtube. LOL you sir are the reason California is one of the worst states in this country.I bet you probably get government assistants because your half ass doodles of cats cant earn you enough fast food to feed your fat gut. At the least you get SSI beacuse your a complete and utter dumb fuck. Good day "cocktree"

  • @3eyedCyclopz I'm the reason a state I've never visited has the qualities it does? You're a fluffer for my ego. Or your ESP needs tuning. But since you're the only person I know who sees the word 'rooster' & thinks 'cock,' fluffing must be second nature. And that is something I completely approve of, unlike your spelling. I mean, 'government assistants'? Yeah, they're always over at my place. Fluffing. My 'doodles of cats cant'? Drawings can't sing. You lose the Internet.

  • @RoosterTreeComicLit its the internet not English class you clown. And im glad this is a boost to your ego because im sure you need all the motivation you can get, so you can find the strength to somehow roll your obese ass out of bed. and continue your sad excuse of a life. Don't worry, in about 20 years when that heart attack gets you, you'll be dead. So it's all good :) Your sad excuse for a life will be over and the funniest of things will then happen.. no one will give two shits :)

  • @3eyedCyclopz Why is 'this isn't English class' the new defense of stupidity? And, if this is the Internet, why don't you know what a 'fluffer' is? You poor, poor cyclops - you must admit that's much more sad than any supposedly obese cartoonist. Because it's you. Hahahaha. You WILL miss me, though - 3 replies (& counting) can't be wrong.

  • @RoosterTreeComicLit its not a defense jackass, its the truth. I never said i didnt know what a fluffer is, you assumed i didnt know, just as i assumed your obese. But your page did say you were 40 years old. Tell me, what 40 year old spends his time exchanging insults with a kid online? Do you not have anything better to do at the age of 40? Dont you have kids of your own to call stupid? Probably not since that would of required sexual relations and we both know that has never happened.

  • @3eyedCyclopz Aw, poor fluffer kiddie. This is fun. When you're older & hopefully smarter (yeah right; 'probably' never proved anything, but it's your favourite 'reason'), you might remember what fun is. 4 (pathetic) replies & counting.

  • @4:15,

That's not really true. Judaism was basically founded by this guy named Akiva ben Joseph.

  • In a way, you could say Judaism isn't an older religion than Christianity... Judaism was something much, much different before the temple fell, something much more at home in a world of pagan monolatrists.

Then again, Christianity was something much, much different before it became a state religion, as well.

  • @IoEstasCedonta

Yeah it's called idealism. Jesus's plan was to convert the Gentiles, and it worked; in fact I'm convinced that he cut a deal with the Romans to stage the crucifixion as part of his whole plan, and the Ascension was simply a bit of ancient Greek theatre ala deus ex machina. This provides a logical explanation of why there was no body found, he was seen afterward alive and well, and he appeared to rise up to heaven-- while a real execution would spoil the myth.

  • He gives them too much credit. He assumes that Christians know that the Old Testament is Jewish.

  • @seanjan1 Hahah. I did just that this afternoon. It's in the Mail!

  • America is the dumbest industrialised country.

  • @martyaus2905 I'm an American, and I can vouch for that. Its mostly the conservatives.

  • @martyaus2905 In 50 years, America will be the dumbest country.....if not sooner....

  • @bwbk007

Three years ago, they elected Obama, a man with no experience, no track-record, and no birth-certificate, to the US Presidency.... hate to break this to ya buddy, but we're already THERE!

  • @bwbk007

Uhh, it IS the dumbest industrialized nation...

  • @martyaus2905 it's just important to remember we're not all like that...

  • @jimmyydeann I know I shouldn't paint all Americans with the sam brush.

  • @martyaus2905 What's a 'sam brush'? It it anything like a 'tony brush' or a 'joseph brush'?

  • @RoosterTreeComicLit Same brush ass wipe.

  • @martyaus2905 You use the same brush for sam's, tony's & joseph's asses? Better wipe good.

  • @martyaus2905 Sad but true. I live in Texas and there were serious cuts in the public education system by the state legislature and Rick Perry. The government wants stupid people because they are easier to control. I am wondering how many on this board had a Citizenship and Government class that was required? I know that it is not required anymore. We are a sovereign nation, not a religious one and I am tired of people saying it. Yea, there are some real idiots in our govern-

  • @boudica67 Well if you look at education spending and actual score results you will see that it is lot more comlicated and it wont be solved just by throwing money at it.In past 50 years education spending quadrupled results stagnated. American kids get outperformed by countries which spend far less money on education so i dont think cutting some money will hurt.

  • @martyaus2905 I know if you were in Germany or Japan, or hell, even China and said things like "I don't need to know this shit, bitch" to your math teacher, you'd be in a world of hurt. Punished, probably (and justifiably) beaten by your parents.

In the US, it happened all the time in my school, and mine was a good public school. Here if a kid gets bad grades, the parent gets mad at the teacher. The parent who is similarly ignorant and didn't care about the child's studies before.

  • There seems to be a real failure for Americans in their early education, for there to be such a lack of basic knowledge. For example the USA now owe over 15 trillion $, how could it get that bad... unless 'the powers that be' have an inability to add?

  • Comment removed

  • @EvolBob1 The Bush admin ran up that debt. So yes, 'the powers that be' had an inability to add.

  • @EvolBob1 Debt is what runs the economy. Massive debt is the inevitable result of the monetary system currently in place. In fact, money IS debt. Without debt, there's no money. The only way to cure the debt problem, and it is a problem, is massive monetary reform.

  • america is a nice place

  • @kortneyfundis Compared to antarctica yes, compared to asia or europe no.

  • I agree with most of what Bill has to say, but he is so smug i want to hit him very hard . Does that make sense?

  • @MrDublin56 NO you dick, it should make you mad because he's telling the awful truth that nobody wants to hear.

  • @mannymmv

Well he sure is taking his time, I haven't heard a word of truth yet... just stupid left-wing misconceptions and propaganda.

  • @SovereignStatesman Yeah and I suppose you think right wing conservatives never spout bullshit propaganda

  • @TheScotth89

I'm not a right-wing neoconservative, but yes they do. I have no respect for agitators and propagandists for either party, they're just shills, whores and idiots..

  • @SovereignStatesman True but I still think Bill Maher makes more sense than say Fox news.

  • @TheScotth89

Neither one makes any sense; but he's only one idiot against dozens, so there's less NON-sense.

  • @SovereignStatesman his point was that people are too stupid to be running this country and people seem to actually prefer ignorant people over educated honest people.

  • @wearestarstuffsagan

Maher is always an aristocratic elitist with contempt for the public being in power; but true to his pseudo-intellectual nature, he's too dumb to realize that this belief is simply an illusion like that produced when chasing a wild goose-- unlike George Carlin, after whose like he he fancies himself without warrant, particularly since George told Bill so personally on his own show at 1:10 on /watch?v=SurCWa8B8YU&feature=related

  • @mannymmv You answered a rhetorical question .What does that make you.

  • It never fails; Maher won't admit that Obama is an idiot-- it's like an albatross around his neck, and so he's exposed making lame excuses and blaming everyone else. It was the same with Clinton. I actually pity the little butt-leech, and it's not just his looks.

  • @SovereignStatesman You are very smug for someone who doesn't have their own HBO TV show.....and as far as looks go I think Bill is okay....nothing special but what makes him truly good looking is his intellect.....I love the way you people without smarts must turn to the lowest common denominator.....perhaps in your worldly wisdom of all things political you can come up with all the answers where your president cannot....I'm sure he would be very interested in hearing your solutions......

  • @cubangal1

"as far as looks go I think Bill is okay...."

    BWAHAHAHAHA He's over-qualified for the ugly-contest!

He fell out of the ugly-tree and hit every branch on the way home!

He's so ugly, the troll in Harry Potter said "DAY-yum!"

He looks like the south end of a north-bound pit-bull with a bad case of bleeding piles!

"hat makes him truly good looking is his intellect....."

He HAS no intellect, he just ACTS like he does... while making the world's biggest ass out of himself.

  • @SovereignStatesman A little advice friend from me and Bill (I of course don't actually know the man but I think he would agree with me on this one) keep your day job cause you ain't no comedian.....

  • @cubangal1

    That didn't stop Bill LOL

  • Maher has his own definition of "smart," along with his own version of truth; if you're not with him, you're his enemy.

Here, he's defending Saddam Hussein because it's the enemy of his enemy, despite that Hussein was executed by his own people for crimes against humanity.

"OH, SADDAM WASN'T INVOLVED IN 9/11, HE ONLY GASSED A FEW HUNDRED THOU!"

If anyone's stupid, it's Bill Maher.

  • @SovereignStatesman You, sir, have displayed your stupidity so well that I had to re-read it a couple of times to make sure it was not sarcastic.

He was not defending Saddam Hussein, and if you actually think in False Dichotomies like that, you need to go take a course in Logic.

  • @danielmrussell

Ah, an asshole sounds with a giant rip-fart LOL

  • @TheUserCBI616164

They're also penny-wise and pound-clueless, i.e. saying we need to implement more socialism to be "smart like them," when it's the PUBLIC-school Americans who are the bottom of the barrel.

  • If Maher thinks Obama is smart, then i shows how dumb he is in comparison-- an idiot's idiot!

  • @_@

  • You don't have to be smart to be a proud American BILL!

  • @TheUserCBI616164 It's hardly a good rebuttal, when you're saying, "yeah, we're stupid, but so are others". I thought America was the best country in the world? Clearly we should be holding ourselves to a higher standard.

  • gay, and i am talking about what Mahar is, not his stupid cherry picked "studies" rant.

  • thanks for this video

  • To me Maher is the only truely rational voice in politics today. Carlin was the last one.

  • @Jeffersonwazright

    I agree.

  • Dr Evil ))

  • 18% of people think the sun revolves around the Earth? Holy shit, it's not 1500, folks. How the hell can you get pass grade 2 without knowing that?

I bet a higher percentage of Americans think that everything revolves around them and their un-warrented self-worth.

Honestly, people, THINK! Think for yourselves! You don't need your parents, priests, politicians, and the internet to teach you cold hard facts.

  • No wonder they're stupid. They disable 70% of their brains in the name of jesus.

  • Its not that Republicans are stupid, its just that if your stupid you're probably a Republican.

  • Man sometimes I just want to pimp slap America. Mostly republicans though.

  • isolated* island (typo)

  • @herock woohoooooo!!! i wasnt aware that such a law was passed. im all for it. fags should be bullied. i consider homos and dykes less than human. i think they should all be casted off to some idolated island and deem it quarantine. the homosexual agenda is just another " population control" tool that the dumbed down masses knows nothing about. who gives a damn about family and our way of life.. they're too busy watching dancing with the stars.. hahaha

  • yap, americans are stupid... ...the rest of the world already knows that...

  • @TheYouwontgetit

Not all Americans, just a majority. :)

  • an arrogant, elitist and smug piece of shit

    liberals in a nutshell

  • ♥ INDIA SUPPORTS RON PAUL ! ♥

  • @xerock dont you educate me about communism you dumb ass. i was born and lived in a socialist country that was as communist as mother russia. you rednecks dont know fk all about socialism/communism. ignorance will get you there soon. by the time you rednecks find out what socialism really means you'll be living in it. too late to change it hahahaaaa

  • I DONT WANT TO LIVE HERE ANYMORE

  • I think Leno has already covered this topic in his "Jaywalking" skits.

  • Bill=hero

  • When you discover that 44 million Americans are depending on foodstamps, and only a patetic 30% possess this book called a passport..........a sane, educated person instinctively thinks it's a 3rd world country, or merely a developing nation.

  • know whats sad? the average american thinks socialism is a good thing- taking from the rich and giving to the poor.. hahahaaa.. they think that russia and china are communist, they have no clue that they are socialist republics. they dont know that communism is a regime within socialist countries.

if socialism is taking from the rich and giving to the poor, why are people in russia and china dirt poor? socialism is about govmt control.

  • @jct09100

Communism is not socialism, dumbfuck. And Russia has the highest number of millionaires per capita.

Wanna talk government control, let's talk about the hitler youth law passed in Michigan by you dumbfuck reich-wingers that allows gays to be bullied based on "religious values"

  • @jct09100

I have never met any fellow American that has ever thought any of those things

  • he's right about everything except about the "smart president".. bush may not be the brightest president we ever had but at least he was american.. nobama is a socialist pig sold to the dumbed down masses by oprah who was controled by the global elite who need to bring socialism to this country. maher is a funny ass, but if after f'ing this country up for 3 years he still thinks nobama is a smart president, maher is not very bright...

  • @jct09100 your statement is the very essence of Maher's rant and that was cute how you put an "n" in front of Obama's name....so as to say No to Obama!! genius in the making here.

  • And america calls canada slow...

  • "Some of this stuff you should be able to pick up, simply by being alive!" lololol Now that's funny!

  • 18% of the USA thinks the SUn revolves around the Earth?!

Please tell me you're joking, please...

  • @EnforcerX71

I hate to break it to you but I saw an interview with Richard Dawkins from a couple of years ago in his roll as Oxford's Professor for Public Understanding of Science, and the numbers on that question are similar in the UK.

  • @TheNakedAtheist Really? I haven't met a fellow Brit ever who thinks that... must be in Norfolk. lol

  • @TheNakedAtheist Where did they get those numbers from? I just find that really hard to believe. Maybe I just don't attract people like that, but if it's really 18% I would think that I would have met at least 1 person that thought that way. If it's actually true, I really really really hope it's because the question was worded improperly (like saying circular orbit as opposed to elliptical) and that 18% or 17% just thought about it more.

  • @PhilWithCoffee

It was a Gallup poll. I don't know where, or in what circumstances you were born, and raised, but I grew up in a middle class community. In a state (Massachusetts) with an average 111 IQ. If I had lived my entire life in that bubble I might find those numbers surprising, but I went on to serve in the military, and live in Alabama (IQ 90), and I don't. All you need look at is the number of Americans who voted for GW Bush twice, to confirm the polls accuracy. :-)

  • @TheNakedAtheist I didn't grow up in that kind of a bubble-state. This is as much as I will say about my youth. I did some reading into this geocentrist movement (since I'm lazy about it, I used the Ref. section of Wikipedia), and I noticed that the numbers seem to be pretty consistent in the UK, US, and D. This tells me it has nothing to do with national origin, so bringing up the GW election seems inconsequential. Also, the only Gallup poll I found was from 1999. Pretty old.

  • @PhilWithCoffee-the only Gallup poll I found was from 1999

The US education system has only gotten worse since then. This isn't about geocentrists who believe the sun circles the earth for religious reasons. This is is about people being so stupid they don't know the correct answer to the question.

  • @TheNakedAtheist Then I would be more concerned about the people who answer "no opinion" (which was about 3%) than the ones that answered that the solar system is geocentric. At least geocentrists have an opinion that they think is sound. That can be attributed to faulty logic. The people with no-opinion are basically sleep-walking through life.

  • @TheNakedAtheist "The US education system has only gott
