The title for Lacrymosa came from Kurt Cobain's friends The Melvins song Lacrimosa released on their 1996 Stag album. The lyrics for the song performed by Evanescence had already been written by me before 1994 when we lost Kurt.

The title for The Open Door came from Helen Keller's book of the same title. Keller is from Alabama, as am I. Courtney Love is a stage name which Kurt chose from an obituary dated Jan 15, 1985. The actress started hanging around in late '84 looking for a part in Kurt's brainchild Sid & Nancy. The obituary is dated 3 days after my bday, Jan 12, and they day Kurt and Courtney claimed to have met. Her character's name in Straight to Hell "Velma" was named for a bar in my hometown "Velma's Place, Trussville, AL. Kurt named Heavier Than Heaven (HTH) using my high school initials Hewitt Trussville High

@Boddahism - im sorry but the whole kurt vs axl thing annoys me, kurt was talented don't get me wrong but as a gnr mark it annoys me when other people/bands try and ridicule another band to try and leapfrog them, in many ways nirvana did leapfrog gnr in say 1991-93 music wise and popularity wise. Depression is a killer, i wouldn't wish it upon anyone. I hope kurt is in a better place.

If anything, there was a mutual respect between them as musicians and artists. Sure, it does sometimes happen but the true stories are not made public. In fact, Duff was a good friend to Kurt.

The title for Lacrymosa came from Kurt Cobain's friends The Melvins song Lacrimosa released on their 1996 Stag album. The lyrics for the song performed by Evanescence had already been written by me before 1994 when we lost Kurt.

@zveena Kurt and I worked together on all of the songs I made up for Evanescence. All of the songs on Fallen and most from The Open Door. The title for The Open Door came from Helen Keller's book of the same title. Keller is from Alabama, as am I. Kurt made reference to Helen Keller and Helter Skelter (my favorite Beatles song) in a photo layout (painted on a wall) with Courtney. Tracy was the name of my ex-boyfriend which Kurt gave the pseudonym to a girl who agreed to play the part

INXS wrote the song Reckless Ways using my name in the song, "I’ll take a chance with Amy, might look good on the floor". Kurt used Charles Barkley's bday Feb. 20th. Barkely is from Leeds, AL and I grew up in the next town over in Trussville, AL. This is also why Kurt asked Barkley to appear on SNL with Nirvana.

Blanche Dubois in A Street Car Named Desire play, by southern author Tennessee Williams, had a HEART SHAPED BOX which she kept her accessories in, including artificial VOILETS and a SEAHORSE pin. This is why Kurt Cobain drew a seahorse in his journal and inspiration for Hole's song Violet. I also used violets when I wrote When Doves Cry for Prince "an ocean of violets IN BLOOM" which inspired Nirvana's "IN BLOOM".

Kurt also thought it was funny when we went to Italy and I spoke Spanish to the Italian Customs Officer at the airport.

Kurt was blonde as a child, but by the time I met him in 1983 his hair had turned to a mousy brown. After he brought his childhood photos of himself for me to see, I suggested he go back a blonde. He did as he started up the band, but he would also dye his hair red because my hair is red (redhead box boy he wrote about in his journal).
