We paid 12m for Ronaldo, a no-one at the time, turned him into a brilliant player and sold him for 80m. We have spent in the past, many teams have. Carrick,, Berba, etc. I wouldn't consider it as 'buying success.' That is deluded. Chelsea 'bought' success. That is the perfect example. They splashed the cash on anyone they could have, Shevchenko, etc.

And yes, our debt is bad but we could have new owners soon. If not, we will cross that bridge when it comes.
