Though there are some iffy parts, this is. Not echi. It's to show the purity and Chastity of a girl. The people she is kissing show that it's anyone, not a rich guy or a poor guy or even a boy. It's to show Love at its purest. She naked because in truth, shamefullness about being naked isnt good but it's preffered that you were clothes in public ^_^. The fact that she doesnt have reproductive organs could show that love isnt just about sex and shouldnt be about sex.

Elfien Lied deals with love,prejudice,fear and struggling to survive. The main protagonist Lucy/Nyu slaughters an entire base full of people wearing only a helmet in the first few minutes of the first episode. Not an anime for the squeamish or those that don't like DEEP symbolism and metaphor. However, if you love blood,dismemberment,odd romances and seeing girls with horns naked this anime is for you. All in all actually a very solid anime. One of the definite top ten short series.

Anyway i love this anime I`ve all the episodes on Dvd (dutch sub, yay ^^).
