Hey man, I'm having computer problems so couldn't reply straight away. If you fancy having a look at the guit I'm talking about you'll see it on e bay if you just type in Gibson j 55, it's possibly a bit pricey if I follow the your advice but looks in great shape so I could perhaps make an offer below asking price or something. They do look awesome guitars though!
Hey cool playing, i'm looking into possibly buying a guitar like this.. a pretty nice condition 76.... Just wondered seeing as you have some knowledge/experience of these guitars how much would you be expecting to pay for a guit like that?
@RobLow18Car hi. thanks. DO NOT pass one up man!! youll kick yerself for ever!!! a 76 would probably be worth 800-1200$ depending on shape. my 1st one (the best ever guitar i owned!) was 1200$ this was 400$ but 1000 to fix! was worth it. the luthier wanted to keep it! the back is curved and BOOMS way more than a 45 or 50 would. no bracing at all on the back of the body and man that sound......the only drawback is the toirtoise shell oxidizes over time. what binding has the one you want got?
I'm selling my J-55 1973 if you ever want another one. They really are amazing. I've always wanted to play one of original J-55s. :)
