We too have an autistic boy and I just saw the piece on 60-minutes regarding the iPad and autism. Our son has been using the iPad for about six months now and that is certainly something he's mastered - YouTube (cartoons), Angry Birds, and other games that really inspire his thinking and motor skills.
I'm guessing you may have had some close calls with the glass screen - sure hope they can make a more durable version!
@DnNvideos1 yeah, you obviously didn't read the description - we're talking about autistic children here, not your ordinary child. That being said, nobody is too young for an iPad. Some of the apps for children are simply amazing and augment regular, traditional learning quite well.
