my coach says to always keep your hands down by your side or one to hold your body up when you slide on your hip. so that they dont tag your hand and make it so the ump sees it like an out.
@misskelsie24 Kelsie, if you are sliding directly on your hip then you may be a little off balance! Not a problem though, just be careful when you're going from full speed into a slide and dragging that hand; even if you're trying to hold yourself up, that intense pressure on your wrist can cause an injury if you jam it or place it down the the wrong way. Also, most fielders are taught to catch and bring the tag DOWN, not reach at eye level for your hands. Hope this helps!
