  • RIP Edmond Purdom, RIP!

  • merlynstone,i presume you are from Egypt??? Is there possibility to buy a nemes, you know, the head wearing?

  • What happened to Victor Mature's voice?

  • Thank you for uploading this! A timeless classic movie! xD

  • yes... i remember this... a remarkable film...

it may not have been true to the novel, but that doesn't take anything from it...

    the ending was perfect...

    thx for putting this up...

    --Mike

  • Thank you for uploading. The quality is in need of improvement though - sound and vision. As for the film, I am hugely disappointed at how unfaithful it is to the plot and spirit of the book, but it was made a while ago in Hollywood, in a civilization that felt compelled to sell its own dreams and truths, I guess. To all interested in the full story, I highly recommend Mika Waltari's original novel!

  • Good one

  • CAN YOU REDO THESE VIDEOS OVER? YOU SHOULD'VE EDITED IT EVERY 10 MINUTES! YOU SPOILED THE WHOLE THING!

WHY DIDN'T YOU LEAVE THE MOVE ORIGINAL AS IS, INSTEAD OF MANIPULATING THE SPEEDS, CUTTING EVERY 2-4MINUTES?!?!? NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR YOU LAUGH DURING THE MOVIE, THAT SHIT IS CREEPY! DID YOU EDIT THIS WHILE OYU WATCHED IT?! TAKE YOUR MIC OFF, AND CLEAN THE BUZZ!!! THANKY YOU!!! LOL ///

  • Now YouTube provides HD, you should repost the whole movie. Please !

  • I agree with Gnickk - Victor Mature had one of the greatest voices in classic, vintage Hollywood, and you botched it up! He's one of my favorite actors!

  • @MrAlienscribe Yeah, why?

  • Respond to this video... I had read the book when I was 13, and did come from a medical family. I followed Sinuhue's path as his father stated (paraphrase) even kings must bow down before doctors. Everyone is in need when ill, equally. I wish the film had been better, but for Hollywood, the look of the 18th dynasty was rather good. T hat was what I liked, Edmund Purdom, God Rest your soul, you were a damned fine actor!

  • Applause, Applause.

  • but you do and you have,do what is best for all instead of trying to pleas an invisible one that could in fact be you're foe.

  • True nobility is of the soul, not the bloodline.. This film's themes of the oneness of all men through the oneness of the Almighty Creator transcends all human existence from this life into eternity! The universal truths of justice, equality and unconditional love sustains me to this day; it helps me endure what the present cultural norms would have me believe my worth is as an African descendant of American slaves. Thank you so much, merlynstone, for posting this great film!

  • @4562deedee Remember these good actors were poorly cast to play the roles of Africans.

  • This has always been one of my favorite movies. Thank you for posting! :-)

  • stupid .the ankh like the cross have no meaning what so ever, you fool's.

  • @destroyb4new The cross has no meaning? Where have you been the last 2,000 years - on another planet?

  • @uayfb1 only the meaning you want to attach to it.

  • @destroyb4new No what - who. The Person attatched to the cross gives it it's meaning. Jesus' death on the cross and resurrection from the dead give the cross the meaning of God has made a way of being both just and loving; just to punish evil, and loving to ensure we escape our just punishment by His Son taking "the rap" in our place. You claim this gift of salvation by admitting you are a sinner and asking God to clean you out and enable you to live as He wants.

  • @uayfb1 jesus dieing in the cross is what they tell you and you accept it as true so in fact you give it validation.not that it happened . you can burn the cross, set it on youre wall or wipe you're ass with it it makes no diffrence,no more fear of a god that is not there.

  • @destroyb4new There are Roman quotes about Jesus being crucified; look up the Internet on that. But as I said, we do not worship the cross, but the Person Who died on it. As for saying God is not there, that's a brave statement - with no evidence.

  • @uayfb1 yes there is evidence of god?wich one; or have you not look in you're around you becouse there are many only you wish to follow this one and thats what you were told, isn;it

  • @destroyb4new Just because I'm raised in one religion doesn't mean I have to stay in it or accept it at all.

  • @uayfb1 yeah of course, u gotta realize it yourself..

  • thank u for posting this video..

  • many thanks for posting this

  • Gene Tierney's role was small and cold in this film. Great message and great film, thanks for posting!

  • @penguinluther Yes, But she made the most of what the script gave her at times she was so focused and tough she looked like she could devour Sinuhe's weakness, she

was truly meant to be pharaoh. Tough and brilliant acting!

    Thank you Ms. Gene Tierney.

  • Thanks for the video. I saw this over 40 years ago with family , 3 who are now passed away. It brings memories and tears...

  • Thank you for posting.

  • thank you for this video ive been chasing after it to see the ending since 2000. ive always had an ankh and knew about akennaton since 1976 and his one God religion. again thank you!

  • Thanks for the movie! It was one of my favorites when I was a kid...so was the book.

  • merlynstone: Thank you for the film. I enjoyed all of it.

  • Jó a film,de egy csomó minden ki lett hagyva belőle,ami a könyvben van.

  • um...

  • Ancssa is thanking you in Hungarian for posting, and commenting that the movie left out much of the substance of the book.

  • Jó,hogy fel lett rakva ez a film!Szuper!

  • WTF? Why did you have to go and do THAT to Horemheb?!

  • @Gnickk because he cares for the truth and stands for it no matter what.. and that's what a Martyr is.. however he made so many mistakes in his life, in the end of the road he knew what's the right thing to do! god bless you Sinohe.

  • @Esperu2008 What are you talking about? I'm talking about the bizarre slow-motion deep voice that was given to Horemheb when he said "exile for life."

  • @Gnickk aaha okk i thought you're like why did Sinohe had to talk like that to Horemheb!!

  • @Esperu2008 stud for truth like jesus, performed miracles like jesus, was outcast like jesus. no wonder they made a point to mention this predated jesus christ. some stories are just retold over and over for different audiences.

  • @Renentet but this is story is way older than Jesus and what do even mean by that?

  • @Esperu2008 I am refering to the notation at the end of the film about Jesus. The film's characters predate the Jesus story but has the same themes. Which means the later could have been co opted.

  • @Gnickk What gives with the distortion?

  • Because of this movie I bought an ankh cross for myself.

  • ME TOO! I saw it first as an impressionable young person and it CHANGED MY LIFE! A lot of deep messages. We use the ankh here at mardukites too and the winged disc... Thank you for your interest!

  • You are most welcome.

  • @belianis now i wanna buy one too .. :) I read the book 4 years ago when i was 15 and now after watching this it reminded me what I've been missing all these years and now i know what I'm going to do..
