you can find these powders online and rarely at some grocery stores. but i buy them online at theindianfoodstore (just google it). they ship quick and they have all the powders and oils that are mentioned
If you live in or near a city that has Indian grocers, you can usually find the powders there. If not, then an internet search can help you out. Amazon is a good place to start, though. HTH
Hi up4itgal. Thank you for the complement, you're sweet =) You can use it before or after washing your hair, it's up to you. The effects should not be affected by shampooing, although I would suggest co-washing (using conditioner in place of shampoo) to maintain moisture for curly hair. The effects of the treatment should last about 2-6 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows. HTH
hey sis, nice video -its not like a relaxer is it? like if it makes my hair diff texture (natural curly) will tehhair get weak where thw two textures meet?
I don't consider it a relaxer, because it doesn't have chemicals that break down the bonds of the hair. I think of it as more an enhanced protein treatment that makes the hair stronger and more manageable. HTH
thanks! that really helps, I was afraid to use it at first but now that you have told me I will probably just add yogurt now (I mean, follow your directions) on the brahmi hair treatment I already have and see how I do,thanks!!!!)
oh my I think that's really cool I'm starting to go natural now I don't want anymore relaxers and I was trying to find things to manage my hair thanks alot for suring that
i am natural and as i am watching you vid, i have my ayurvedic yogurt protein condish on my hair. I used somewhere around 5 to 8 tbsp of yogurt,1 tsp brahmi & amla,1/2 tsp of tulsi and about 2 tsp raw honey. i have had it on my hair for about 2 hours now.
ok, it turned out great!! my hair is definitely strengthened from this. i will use this once every two to 4 weeks. my hair was soft. after rinsing my yogurt condish out, i used oyin handmade condish(very very moisturizing) to soften my hair even more. i twist my hair into 6 sections and let air dry over night. this morning i sprayed some oyin juices and berries, lightly blow dried( just enough to str8 my hair), and applied my homemade brahmi-amla coconut oil to each twisted section.
hi i'm knew to this powder. I relax my hair about every 8-12 weeks, although my hair is long, and thin (fine) and i havent relaxed it since february, my hair dresser usually treats my hair but i wanted to treat my hair myself this time do you think it is wise, and i usually do the hot oil would you suggest i use this powder or not? thank you...
Hi babyluv37. It is perfectly fine for you to use this powder. First try about a tablespoon of it in your deep conditioner, to see if you like it. The recipe in the video is to help soften my new growth, so I can stretch longer (about 5-6 months). HTH
I've used brahmi powder mixed with my conditioner with heat and there were no ill effects. The reasons I used this mix with no heat is because the yogurt would curdle and because it was too hot (at that time)to use heat. HTH
My hair turned out great. It felt soft and strong. After the treatment, my hair was easy to brush/comb through afterwards because the new growth was looser.
I was just wondering if you hair ever used Bhringraj powder or any other kind of herbal powders in your hair? I want to, but I'm afraid it will change the color of my hair.♥
I use Bhringraj powder in my conditioner. It makes my hair a little darker, but I'm okay with that. If you don't want darker hair, maybe the Bhringraj would not be good for you. Amla powder also makes my hair darker. HTH
Do you use a relaxer? If so, Do the powders effect the strength of the relaxer. I heard somewhere that you are supposed to space herbal treatments and chemical treatments by at least 3 weeks. Cheers♥
I haven't had a problem with ayurveda and my relaxer. I've used them as soon as a few days after I relax with no problems =) I relax about every 12 weeks and the powders actually help to keep my hair strong and keep it from breaking as my hair grows. HTH
Is this a PRE-poo or a POST-poo conditioner?
karenbcz22 1 year ago
so this just takes place as a perm?
DLovato1 1 year ago
@DLovato1
No, it's a conditioning protein treatment that makes curls more manageable. It's not permanent.

so what does it do for your hair exactly?
mya32189 2 years ago
I found it to be good for loosening the texture of tight curls, to make them more manageable.

quick question how long do you keep that in your hair?? 20 or 30 minutes???

I kept it in for about 45 minutes. I was being lazy, though. 20-30 minutes should be just fine. HTH

Thank you. I do this about every other month. The yogurt is a good protein treatment so my hair doesn't need it that often.
