  • This Is the only Betcha Can't Play This lick I've actually wanted to learn and practice, I prefer melody than Shredding, I dont even care if the original one would be slower :)

  • I want to cry!

  • is that mike campese thing of our species?????

  • My favorite guitarist..just please get a haircut :P

  • That tone! That amazing, beautiful tone. I would like some of that tone!!!

  • Guitar Center has one of those guitars on their used wall

  • that tone of the guitar is the kind i really like hearing

  • This solo comes from an entire song or it's just the greatest improvisation i've ever heard?

  • @rudeboy4you I think they make up these solos really quick before they play them

  • @daiselol Yeah, thanks for your answer, i'm sure you are right. Unfortunatelly , i thought it was part of a song . Anyway this guy is very good.

  • i use this in one of my bands songs. at least the slow part. tried it faster but people didn't like it in the song

  • I CAN PLAY THIS

  • god dammit!! i hate all you fuckin' idiots whining about "Betcha can't play this" It's a concept which is based on crazy shredding!!!

  • that's the ONLY betcha can't play this so far that I would actually like to learn

  • Mindblowingly melodic progression there!

I betcha can't play this with THAT kinda effectiveness.

  • that was beautiful :O

  • The second half of the riff sounds like the first half except slower!!

    ;)

  • putting the camp in campese

  • Fucking beautiful.

  • Absolutely beautiful tone for this piece. Learned the first half already. Thanks for the music bro.

  • I this an actual song? It sounds beautiful

  • Haha amazing man gonna learn it ^__^

  • u have a big nose

  • The Slowed Down Version kinda sounds like "A New Beginning" by Threat Signal... Awesome!!!!!!! (Tone-Wise, Not the Actual Lick itself!)

  • check out my betcha cant play this =P

  • eric johnson sounding...

  • then chris broderick came along and ran this over with a tank

  • @hippoflamingo Then Rusty Cooly shat on Chris Broderick.

  • By far the most melodic and meaningful one of the 'Betcha Can't Play This' series..

  • @TheOnlyKenmaru i agree...all heard so far was all fast scales

  • @TheOnlyKenmaru But that's not the point of betcha cant play this.

Still, it sound the best out of any i've heard

  • @mrnobodyouknow sure but u get the point :-)

  • @TheOnlyKenmaru just like u mention 'most melodic n meaningful one' (=

  • @TheOnlyKenmaru

    True

    I couldn't have said it better :)

  • nice Db at the end there, hawk nose

  • beautyful tone!!!

  • who gives a flip, hero.........guitar playing and the arts, ain't a flippin competition, great players have the shine without the shill.

  • slow motion part kills me!

  • o hell no i cant play this i suck ass at guitar

  • till 0:11 i bet u i can

  • BADASS. Totally clean and just beautiful sounding.

  • I'm Mike Campese and i bet dragonforce can't play this live!

  • nice... but sounded a lot better slow

  • Betcha you cant run around the park in thirteen seconds... times up doesnt feel good huh asshole

  • "Hi i am Mike Campese , and i bet you cant make a better "death stare" then me at 0:32" :) loved the vid!!

  • " Hi, Im Criss Angel..."

  • why can't we all just get along??

  • check out anton oparin or ana vidovik when she was 5 antons still young and is endorsed. even shawn lane said he had his signature style down pat at 17 and steve vai was already in zappas band at 17. but ana at age 5 just amazes me.

  • I think I could play it.

  • Sounds Fantastic

  • very pretty tone

  • im mike campese, and im so fucking italian

  • @ryankuisti

    Too right!

  • Tom Anderson guitar, best tone ever!

  • it`s musical and it sounds good but it`s not that hard: even i who am 14 years old could learn this!

  • @KingOfShadows1500 ikr im 13 and i just did

  • @KingOfShadows1500 the opening probably, but the last measure, no. at least not cleanly like Mike just played. It'd probably be a sloppy mess. all 32nd notes descending and doubling back through the scale up to speed.

  • @KingOfShadows1500

    age means nothing,

its concentration and patience that counts

the only reason age would be a factor is that kids dont usually have these things, but apart from that, the age of a person learning shouldnt be an argument in wether a guitar peice is hard/good or not

  • @ookamiuk oh really? so you think a 1 year old baby could learn this? or maybe a 100 years old guy who has the parkinson? :P no seriously, age is a huge factor:

1st: the size of your fingers

    2d: the experience

3: the agility, speed and accuracy of your fingers, and by that i mean when you`re a kid your fingers are not finished growing and you didn`t have time to improve your skills yet cuz you`re too young.

    so age counts alot!

  • @KingOfShadows1500

    baby + parkinson comment invalid.

1st : you can get smaller sized guitars, for kids and dwarfs

2nd : if you played guitar from age 7-9 or 32-34, either way you would have 2 years experience and assuming the kid and adult practised the same amount of time and the same skills would be just as good.

3rd : My first point + it dosnt matter, if anything the fact your fingers havnt developed properly should make it easyer as they will develop more for guitar playing.

  • @ookamiuk oh so would you please tell me how come that all the famous guitarists are 40-50 years old instead of 9 or 10?

  • @KingOfShadows1500

Do you know any 10 year olds that have the attention span/knowledge to advertise, write songs, go gigging (even get into some venues) buy equipment, please fans, spend they're own money on essential equipment...the list goes on. Considering it takes years to get to the point of 'Well Known'.

I never said 9-10 (need a bigger gap to be honest) year olds had the ability to become famous guitarists, I said they have the same ability to learn and be as good as everybody else.

  • @ookamiuk i admit 10 years old kids spend their money on games and stuff and they don`t really know what they really want to do in life, but still, if they are that good their parents or their sponsors would buy equipment, please fans, etc. for them!

  • @KingOfShadows1500

Parents are not expected to pay anything, Guitar equipment is expensive, and buying it for a child is pointless as they may get older and not even play anymore. Out of 5 of us that played guitar in high school I am the only one of us that still even bothers with music. Sponsers are also hard to come by.

+ please fans for them??? That is a stupid comment.

Either way, kids can be just as good as adults, but dont get famous for reasons i have stated already. Age dosnt matter.

  • @ookamiuk well, kid`s fingers are not as developed as adult`s ones witch makes an other reason why kids are not as good as adults, plus kids don`t have the attention they need to practice enough time, they would just go play with Lego instead xD

and parents ARE expected to pay stuff for their children, that`s why they are PARENTS, DOOH!

  • @KingOfShadows1500

They are not as developed witch means that they will be able to develop and be able to learn guitar easier than an adult with fully developed hands, the adults hands would not as easily be able to adjust to learning something new. Simple biology douche, thats why you are encouraged to learn young.

+ Most kids have NO attention span, they get bored with everything within half hour.

Parents are expected to pay for food and clothes. Things kids wont use are not expected.Grow up

  • @ookamiuk that`s exactly what i mean: you HAVE TO start playing while being young so your fingers can get used to the guitar BUT adults have stronger hands/fingers and more developed brain so they get better easier and faster!

  • @KingOfShadows1500

When your an adult thats the same time your brain starts to stop learning new information as easily...thats why kids go to school, not adults...so no, they wouldnt find it easier.

Hands and fingers might be stronger, but they don't have the flexibility they would of been able to develop if they started as a kid.

    Learn some biology before commenting.

  • @ookamiuk hahah so you think that school would be harder for adults?? so plz tell me why are PARENTS helping their KIDS with their homework instead of KIDS helping their PARENTS with their work?? hein?

  • @KingOfShadows1500 That comment does not even make sense, the adults have gone to school already and leardned it WHEN THEY WHERE A KID.

Go away, you are obviously either a retard or a child yourself. You know nothing and it is clear by your sorry exuses of arguments and points

You clearly know nothing about human learning and physical abilitys at different ages so I suggest that you do not even try to argue as you make yourself look more stupid every time you do.

    Good day my stupid/child freind

  • @ookamiuk wtf are you talking about? are you a retard? so you think children are better and learn faster than adults? than why dont children go to work? why didnt einstein discover the e=mc2 formula when he was a kid??if you ask both a child and an adult 298+898+474=? who you think is gonna give a faster response? you are so dumb! YOU don`t know anything about human learning! idiot!

  • @KingOfShadows1500

I am not even pointing out everything wrong with what you have just said. There is so much it is unbelivable. You obviously still need to grow up and realise certian things about life and how things work.s

Your comments make no sense, stay in school, you are defo to need it,

  • @ookamiuk yeah whatever dude you`re just retarded xD i`m not arguing with you today cause i just got my new PRS SE Torero and i wanna have fun with it so please shut up!

  • @KingOfShadows1500 Can I hold it? :D

  • @KingOfShadows1500

No, you are a retarded child arguing about things you have not learned. What age did you say you where on a previous comment?? 13/15??? Yea, GTFO kid and go learn something about life.

Oh, and PRS SE Torero, nothing special about it, its like a Fender strat in the sense of it looks and sounds like around 500 other models of guitar, so please shut up!

  • @ookamiuk dude, 1st of all, at 14 years old we are not kids anymore, we are teenagers ( a new word for you, i guess ). and you, how old are you? 90? and i guess you start to have some brain problems that`s why you say all this shit!

    go see the doctor...

2d of all, the torero has nothing to do with a fender, you fucking retard, it`s like a fusion between a gibson and an ibanez, it sounds great and it`s good quality for it`s price! so go get some more info before you comment this shit, idiot!

  • @ookamiuk and no, i would rather have a torero than a gay ass single coil strat.

  • @KingOfShadows1500 did you buy it or did your mommy and daddy?

  • I'm n ot 100% sure I'd want to play that! good work thought!

  • Satriani'ish..

  • pft come on, what 17 year old kid who plays guitar cant play neo classical... its like the first stage to playing lead. lol next

  • just like all videos like this, every comment is about how much better they are.

if you're so god damn good post a video response...

  • anyone got the tabs for this?

  • slow version sounds better

  • Pff... I can play that on the kazoo.

  • hah mike campese and betcha can't play this rimes! XD

  • @davidroys i meant that he should have used humbuckers to avoid the amp noise not change his sound :)

  • finally, a riff that's actually imaginative and unique! thanks mike campese!

  • thumbs up if u understand that the amp noise comes from his single coiled pickups and that he should have used humbuckers.

  • @errorcode99 I agree with everything except "should have used." Some people like the single coil sound despite the noise. The riff is great and his tone is good while he's playing it.

  • I found a tab for this. Just send me a mesage if you'd like to have it. :)

  • i would love tabs for this... hint

  • I actually really like this one.

    Finally something musically likeable.

  • Mike needs to post more videos like this!

  • A tasteful betcha can't play this? I'm in shock.

  • Holy shit I love this! Nearly every other one of these damn things is some guitarist just shredding arpeggios and its really annoying.

  • Nice! Bet I can though :P

  • I love this. i saw a 'betcha can't play this' mix up video, and of all of them ... this was the only one that i really liked :) It sounds awesome!

  • That was so very very beautiful

  • cool dude

  • im mike cant piss?:P

  • the first part sounds amazing

  • sounds like steve vai style

  • @respecttheskull Sounds like his song Know your here

  • the first part was very melodic....

  • very nice mike ...a use of arpeggios that isnt just mindless speed masturbation

  • TABS PLEASE!!!

  • sounds better slowly

  • "I'm Mike Campese and i bet Doug Doppler can't play this!"

  • @oreopimp44 That's gold!

  • Yeah, you damn right I cant play that...

    That sounds beautiful

  • @devil666viv

idk it sounds like cliffs of dover from ej

  • first 3 seconds are so awesome

  • kinda sounds like satch's secret prayer.

  • @moyersshred typically satch sounds

  • I actually like this one lol.

  • Which guitar is he using in this video;)?

  • Which guitar is he using in this video;)?

  • beautiful arpeggios in the beggining

  • @catapei Sus2 arpeggios FTW.

  • when u play it at 0:08 u look's like skidrow guitarest but when i talk u look deffirent

but it's really nice i would ike to learn it

  • He does kinda look like Dave Sabo XD

  • Siiiick

  • Mike Chimpansees? O-o

  • Not extremely hard, but it sounds great. Thumbs up from me! :D

  • the start is just eric johnson sounding

  • definetly isn't the hardest but is my favourite betcha can't play this

  • I don't get why you'd dislike this, how would you even find it if you can't appreciate how much feel this has to it?

  • sounds better slow, I like this

  • Sounds good fast and slow, very rare in any type of lick.

  • When he started talking I thought it was going to be a testimonial for Shamwow but then he played that awesome lick. Who knew.

  • That Tom Anderson guitar looks badass!

  • its pretty easy compared to the chris broderick and alexi laiho ones besides the sweep picking an ameteur could learn this slowly like the first solo i learned was downfall by children of bodom

  • Sounds really great, but that fast thing at the end doesen t fit that good...

  • sounds better slow

  • this is one of the best ones

  • Oh my god, such an amazing tone. And an awesome lick

  • Nice. Got tabs?

  • I love Mike Campese!

  • betcha cant play it again

  • i knew it; sooner or later TSO is gonna show off some of it's bite. kudos to mike campese.

  • Sounds so much better slow... Some things just do.

  • the slow sounded amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Wow, I don't even know who this guitarist is, but damn that was good.

  • THIS IS AMAZING . Whoever can play this other then him , I would love them forever(:

AHHHHH , No but seriously I would .

  • And this is why a Tom Anderson costs a small fortune...

And NO,I can't play this but you sure as hell just made me want to go and study some more!

  • your bet is lost i can play that

  • was it just me, or this solo played slowly sound much better than the faster one?

  • this dude stole that lick from my vid.

  • Ku! fucking sound bro, sounds classical but HEAVY!!!!!!!!!!

  • U LOST UR BET!

  • no i cant play that

  • yeh but wat band duh!!

  • @hockeydude192 It takes more than knowing the modes to play that, it takes practice or else you'll fail at it with your fingers..

  • i can do it from 15 seconds. n who is this dude?

  • @Kiee5777

    its Mike Campese..duh lol

  • @Kiee5777 he's the guitarist for trans siberian orchestra. He's a phenom,.

  • Fucking yea man! No way in hell i could play this without locking myself in my room for a couple years.

  • great

  • sounds like steve vai, whats it called?

  • This riff reminds me of the album Electric Tears by Buckethead.

This is probably my third favorite riff from the "Betcha Can't Play This" videos.

  • Is he playing a song? Yes ? Wich song?

  • that sounded great and musical to me even when played fast, having a developed ear from playing hard rock and metal.... i dont like when a bunch of people get pissy at these "betcha can't play this" videos cause literally, they can't play the licks cause of the shredding.....

  • nice solo man!!! awsome guitar sound

  • Nice guitar sound.

  • the ending ruined it!

  • @elijahproductions100 At full speed, yeah

  • that sounded really good, but it's more of a song sorta solo than a shredding thing

  • This is like the first "Betcha can't play this" that I would even want to learn...it sounds really nice. I guess that's why there aren't many people who can play the "Betcha can't play this" licks...they often suck. :P

  • BETTER THAN SEX

  • very musical but the last part kinda ruins it

  • @supapuffy2007 agree fully
