ive never played starcraft but a lot of the units that im seeing through the trailers look like Dawn of War. Especially this guy, he looks like a space marine.

@darkfeather001 Dawn of War and StarCraft are pretty similar. At least Dawn of War 2 had me thinking StarCraft all the way, with their Eldars (Protoss), Tyranid (Zerg) and Space Marines (Terran), the entire way that Eldar were purifying planets of Tyranid, much like the Protoss were purifying entire planets of Zergs.

Whether you want to read that as "Starcraft looks like Warhammer" or "Warhammer looks like Starcraft", it really doesn't matter, because they aren't mutually exclusive. If A looks like B then B also looks like A. Whether you mention A or B first depends on what triggered the comparison, in my case Dawn of War 2. Thus, Dawn of War 2 looks like Starcraft and Starcraft looks like Dawn of War 2.

@MrWildfire95 Blizzard was founded in '91 and the first Tyranids were mentioned in Warhammer 40k in '86. Yes, it's entirely possible that Blizzard borrowed the idea to the Zerg from the Tyranids; I'm not saying it's not. I'm just saying the two video games look very similar in terms of lore elements.

no, they campaigns are not sold seperately. StarCraft is going to be a trilogy, this is StarCraft II. Developers have stated that because there are three very long campaigns within this game, it is like getting a game and two expansion packs for the price of one.

No, the blizzard/GW thing was about warcraft, GW hired blizzard to make a game based on Warhammer, GW backed out and Blizzard continued to release the game under a new name; Warcraft.

Had nothing to do with starcraft and starcraft 2 will be released just fine.

They were developed concurrently. Warcraft was never anything to do with warhammer. They DID sue each other back and forth though over various things, though.
