I am not sure exactly what you're doing.A child who doesn't know about a flag being upside down much less the politics of his nation...a flag is nothing more than a symbol of his country. He is beaming of excitement not improperly showing respect. Did you see how many flags hit the ground yet you single him out. This child of 9/10 in the middle of a natural disaster saw his friends parish and yet being injured himself displayed more courage and bravery than anyone 3X his age by saving 2 others.
this is a lesson to all, its a magic! this kid is real hero! China is seriously in distress, chinese people know they hav no human rights, only CCP is good. poor n ordinary pple worked so hard for the olympic, yet when it started, they r sidelined n kicked out from Beijing. Foreign journalists r given freedom but Chinese pple hav no voice. CCP has shamelessly cheated pple n world wid fake fire display n cheating wid da little gal's voice. Tibet protestors r deported, great stuff!!wakeup China
Instead on focusing on the fact that the flag is upside down, shouldn't we instead be putting our attention on the bravado of this 9 year old? Honestly, if put in that situation, most of us would only worry about our own lives. This child went back and saved 2 others because he felt it was his duty. How many of you could honestly perform such an act? The negativity is belittling the act that he performed. We should be celebrating his and not the mistake that he had no control over.
Thats all well and good and I agree. Yes, brave kid. He would not BE carrying the flag in the first place had he not been a hero. The only point of this video was to show that his flag is upside down. It should not be viewed as negative towards Yin Hao himself. Anyone seeing negativity is reading into it based on their own preconceptions.
There is nothing about your video and narrative that doesn't overflow with negativity against a kid...YOU ARE JUST A BULLY..REMOVE THE VIDEO AND REDEEM YOURSELF.
You sir are a stunned C**t ..Its people like you that make this world such a shi*ty place to live.. This kid saved some of his class mates from death where as i bet you would have ran like a little bit*h. Go play in traffic you sad excuse for a human.. I bet your mother is real proud of the waste of flesh she raised..
FOR THE 15TH TIME, I AM NOT MAKING FUN OF THE KID!! YES, HE IS A HERO! I RECOGNIZE THAT! NEVER SAID HE WASN'T!
Sheesh... just pointing out that he's got an upside down flag and people act like I'm insulting the kid and his whole family. Where do you get that idea?!?!
Chill out and lay off! I am reporting NEWS here, people. Yes, I say Fuck twice but nowhere do I insult the kid!!
You're not "reporting" news, you're making an attempt to be a political pundit by taking a video clip and being passive aggressive with you political opinion. This clip is representative of a political satire, which is definitely seen in the last few seconds of your clip. Please stop trying to say that you're "reporting" news when this is clearly a satire demonstrating your opinion, which is sad because Lin Hao's story is a courageous one. An upside down flag shouldn't overshadow the real story.
How could a nation, as proud as China plans on being for this display, make a mistake like this? The rest of the ceramony was flawless. This is just too important. And of course it's the small flag. If YAO'S flag was upside down, they would have done anything to fix it. There are too many adults, and it's too big of a mistake. Pick the small flag. No one probably even checked the boy's flag. I'm not saying it's the boy's fault. He's a hero. He hasn't done anything wrong.
Of course they are making a big deal about it. Everyone has been making a big deal about these Olympics! THIS IS CHINA. Protesting this nation shouldn't seem weird. Chinese articles about the Opening Ceramony are already cropping the image so that you cannot ever see what is in the boy's hand. They are hiding that flag from the people, even though everyone saw it. This is a protest!
I am glad I am not the only one in America that noticed this. As a Former member of the military, this is a sign of "Great Distress" and if you think the little hero just happen to be handed a upside down flag to lead the Olympic athletes by accident you are very naive. The Chinese are extremely careful to make sure everything is perfect to the outside world. This was a message delivered by the only person who could pull it off and not be locked up or killed.
At the very least, it was noteworthy. I've looked and found no "official" word as to why the kid was flying his flag upside down. Lotsa people noticed though. Millions more did not.
Why "report" about Lin Hao holding his flag upside down, when you can make a youtube video reporting about how great of a hero he was. Yes, millions of people were not aware of him holding the Chinese National Flag upside down, but there are still millions unaware of Lin Hao's courageous story. I think you can contribute more to society if you channel your efforts in such a way, instead of mocking Lin Hao or the organizer of this heroic symbol. Further, is the OMFG blasphemy really necessary?
why are you making fun of that great little kid. he's more of a man than you'll ever be. why don't you try saving 2 people while your arm is broken. and who cares if it's the organizers fault, give them props for even awarding him the honor of leading the Chinese Athelete Delegation!
"An upside-down flag is the international nautical convention for "great distress." In this case, Lin's flag seems to send the message, "This country is in crisis." "
ignore these people, your channel is a variety channel/blog and this video fits perfectly into that. I don't know why they are making such a big deal about this video lol
It's sad that in a world full of heroes like Lin Hao, there are those so quick to jump to such tasteless ridicule and criticism. I feel sorry for you, that in the face of such an amazing story, you see an upsidedown flag. I wonder what else you're not seeing.
You got it wrong. It's BECAUSE the kid is a hero that the whole thing is so noteworthy. I wasn't criticizing the kid, it's the organizers who need a good buttkicking!
Are you guys serious??? Making big deal out of NOTHING! The little boy is an earthquake survivor and he saved two other kids. He is a little hero. He doesn't need to be traumatized by you ignorant idiots. Plus holding flag upside down doesn't mean ANYTHING in other cultures. Symbolism is different in each culture. For example, like holding up a middle finger to someone could be offensive in U.S., but could mean nothing in other culture. Don't be obnoxious.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Stupid chinese organizer and the flag manufacturer. The little boy carrying chinese flag upside down symbolize the down fall of chinese rule in the coming generation. China must some day grant Freedom to Tibetan and other freedom fighter.
If we're going to tell China to give freedom to Tibet, we should also tell the United States to give back Oklahoma back to the Cherokee Indian Tribe, Florida back to the Seminoles, and the California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas back to the Mexicans!
( Just like Tibet, Tibet's not an issue. It is not a country, it is a province of China. Tibet does not want to be "free" of China. Just because the Dalai Lhama and a small of of people wants freedom does not mean the Tibetan people want freedom.
The people there are happy!!!
OK. I dare to say that because I know Tiben and have traveled to places where Tiben live and have a Tiben friend.
Tibet is an ancient nation of more than 2 thousands years of history, you can't just wipe it out with cheap CCP originated propaganda.
Tibet issue is about truth n justice n it will pravial in the end. Only blind n brainwashed people like you won't see the fact n truth. What a pity. Recent uprising all over Tibet in March n april is prove that Tibetans r not happy and that Tibetan don't want to live under China, but under Dalai Lama. Many chinese know this, they respect n understant real Tibet!!
I don't know what you're getting mad about. You should go to there to see it. Just because a minor group wants independent does not mean E-V-E-R-Y Tibetan want independent. Not understand? Let's say, I personally hate the communist government is not equal to I dislike China. I love China. I know it very well cause I have lived with the Tiben people for a year. You could also tell that if u live there for a while. Now you say Tibet is an ancient nation....
yes it is, and Western Xia, Yunnan, Ba, Cheng Kuo, Mongolia and even Korguryo was a chinese kingdom, So what?? Do you really want to start WW III? You are the brainwashed one. Not me....
If Tibet is part of China, why did CCP has to sign 17 point agreement in 1951, that too with force and coercion? Why do CCP has to tell the world that Tibet is always part of CHINA?? I mean it is pointless if we discuss history, we can't change it, not even by CCP. What I am saying is there is benefit being under China, but Tibetans should be treated with respect and their culture preserved! Seriously is China doing that? It is destroying n killing Tibetans. There is problem.
Tibetans in Tibet have no freedom at all, this is plain truth. So even if you stay 5yrs there, people won't express to you becuz they won't trust you and they r being constantly watched, warned and intimidated. This is also true inside China proper. So you have to understand the fear that CCP puts into people. This is fact, go to some remote village and ask for pple's view on human rights, Tianenmen killings or about wherabouts of jurnalist or on Tibet, everyone will go silent to tell the truth.
basically I have nothing against CHINA or Chinese people, I am simple human being and I am sad and unhappy about the lack of human rights in China and fear and brainwashing by CCP. I feel sorry for all these Chinese who's moral concience and love of China has been kind of bankrupted and hijacked by CCP. Simply think about the view about China in the world, it is negative and it is becus of CCP. Chinese people has to realise this, there now many thousand of chinese who r commited to change this!
How do you know only minor group in Tibet wants freedom. First of all, they don't have any rights to express their opinion freely. Secondly, if they just mention about Tibet's freedom and Dalai Lama, they would end up brutal execution...What a baseless reason you are giving.
That is not even a valid comparison. Its so illogical, irrelevant.. I am wondering if any red indian are protesting to US government to grant them more freedom. I am wondering if US government are executing red indian everyday like in Tibet.
The truth is they are happy under such democratic environment and red indian are not treated as second class citizen unlike in Tibet where tibetan are treated like an animal in their own homeland.
***SIGH***There're 56 ethnic groups in mainland China:Tibet,Han,Bai,and blah blah blah.We don't hate anyone. We're all the same. My best female friend's from Southern China, her boy friend's a Tibetan...it is just normal here. No matter you are Tibetan or the other 55 ethnic groups, we're equal and love one and each another. It is super unfair that you say Tibetan are treated like an animal in China :( You sounds like all of the 1.3 billion people are murderers.
well...it is ok since everything you see on the western media is never good news, things are blown out of proportion, everything with negative view.......
sorry I was wrong, I meant only minor group in Tibet wants independent, most western people like you want Tibet become independent. There're sooo many Tibetans who live or work everywhere in China. ( It is okay if you don't know - cause you are not a Chinese ) If Tibet really became independent: What will happen to Tibetan? Getting a work visa to continuse to stay in "China"? go back to Tiban?? Anything in Tibet to support their economically?
Tibetan are not even chinese, how the question of tibetan being one of ethnic chinese came? Having tibetan boyfriend or girlfriend doesn't justify that they have similar political attitude. I dont 'have personal hatred toward chinese but chinese must stop their stingy policy toward tibetan. All chinese personnel and army and their brutal action on Tibet represent the sick motivation of CHINA as a whole. (You sound like a gold medal should never be represented by country but by the athlete only)
Thanks for not hatred toward Chinese. When you mean "Chinese must stop their stingy policy toward Tibetan", The communist party can't represent the 1.3 billion of Chinese. It is the Communist troops suck. Think of our people instead of the political side. Again, Han, Tibetans and any other minority groups, we are all equal.
Come on, Dude4u45, you say Tibetan are not even Chinese. Let me tell you, the Tibetan people are an ethnic Chinese. Only their culture, clothing, and food are so different that of Chinese. Okay when you say "Chinese", you probably refer to Han Chinese, who is one of the major ethnicities in China. But there are also other ethnic Chinese minorities, whose culture, language, clothing and ways of religious worship are different.
Please learn more about Chinese history. Tibetans lived under Dali Lama time were slaves. Read more from scholars, researchs, not from the western medias.
Give me a break! I would suggest you to read the fact history not the one that is fabricated by communist chinese. Infact, people in china can't oppose the government about the things that are written down in the book. No democracy, no freedom of speech..By the way, you keep on saying Black is White..
no problem...I also need a break. Here my last reply: We have to be clear China does not equal the Communist party and the Communist party cannot represent the Chinese people. Many of us want democracy.....want freedom....I hope you won't mess things up
Regarding to your suggestion...um...my history is okay...( History got C+ in H.k.C.E.E ) but regarding to "suggest not read the one that is fabricated by communist chinese" - That one can't apply to me though...I'm a Hong Kong permanent resident born in HK, education system here based on British mode...nothing to do with communist ( not sure it will changed about in 10 years?? )
Your comment doesn't prove that you have a great knowledge on Tibet and its history. No wonder after reading your all comment I could say you are one of those communist brain washed comic.
well afterall, my point is just China does not equal the Communist party and the Communist party cannot represent the Chinese people and Tiben could not be independent. haha....communist brain washed...that makes me laugh. we humans have a funny way of judging other countries for what we think is non standard.....
having left so much here, but actually our arguement are pointless, since you definately know not much about TIbet either while keep yelling I am brainwashed.
i really wanted to end this. But u r rude to say I am of those communist brain washed. have u been to China or TIbet. If u had traveled to Tibet. You will realise the people there dont want separtate from China. If they are independent, who will become the government? The monks! Tibetan will just become poorer and poorer. Even Dalai Lamma he are not asking for independent, he talked to the communist government 4 more rights n money. You ignore fact n anything else
Tibet's former slaves say they, too, don't want their former masters to return to power. "I've already lived that life once before," said Wangchuk, a 67-year-old former slave who was wearing his best clothes for his yearly pilgrimage to Shigatse, one of the holiest sites of Tibetan Buddhism. He said he worshipped the Dalai Lama, but added, "I may not be free under Chinese communism, but I am better off than when I was a slave"
By Michael Parenti,The Culture Struggle (Seven Stories,2006)
( Kim Lewis, who studied healing methods with a Buddhist monk in Berkeley, California, had occasion to talk at length with more than a dozen Tibetan women who lived in the monk's building. When she asked how they felt about returning to their homeland, the sentiment was unanimously negative. At first, Lewis assumed that their reluctance had to do with the Chinese occupation, but they quickly informed her otherwise )
( They said they were extremely grateful "not to have to marry 4 or 5 men, be pregnant almost all the time," or deal with sexually transmitted diseases contacted from a straying husband. )
( The younger women "were delighted to be getting an education, wanted absolutely nothing to do with any religion, and wondered why Americans were so naïve [about Tibet]." --- Kim Lewis )
We have only this UN to recognise states, even we cannot agree those decisions. Besides, Tibet was part of China until China erupted in chaos during the twenties. So one cannot argue that Tibet was never part of China.
UN can recognize Tibet as a Sovereign Nation tomorrow if China understand the interest of Tibetan people. No tibetan wants to live under biased brutal chinese rule. There is no proof that Tibet was part of china but infact Tibet was an independent nation prior to communist invasion in 1959. End of the Story....
You show me that you hardly know much about China or you are a 13 years old. Turn off your damn tv and pick up a book, go exercise, do something to better yourself. No wonder most of us British think you are arrogant fools. U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.A! Unbelievable...
whoa, language! the flag probably slid to the other side and no one noticed, by the way that kid is lin hao, he saved two of his classmates after pulling himself out of the rubble during the earthquake, he's a true inspiration :)
Big deal? I just made a video. How is that a big deal? It was probably a bigger deal to 1.3 billion Chinese people who were cringing while watching the symbol of the country being displayed improperly.
how the fuck did that happen?
well, obviously that flag was made in China.

It would make sense that the flag slid down the pole and he just picked it up and put it back on without paying much attention in the excitement.
As for the second theory that you mentioned about 'crisis'. The Sichuan earthquake was a crisis...unless your trying to imply something else. hmmmmm.
Can't we just enjoy this beautiful act of heroism and appreciate it without bringing in politics?

Simply think about the view about China in the world, it is negative and it is becus of CCP. Chinese people has to realise this, there now many thousand of chinese who r commited to change this!

China was under Mongolia 1000 times. Report you government back to mongolia. China should be ruled by mongolia if you claim Tibet is part of China.

How do you know only minor group in Tibet wants freedom. First of all, they don't have any rights to express their opinion freely. Secondly, if they just mention about Tibet's freedom and Dalai Lama, they would end up brutal execution...What a baseless reason you are giving.
dude4u45 3 years ago

It is super unfair that you say Tibetan are treated like an animal in China :( You sounds like all of the 1.3 billion people are murderers.
yee4elton 3 years ago
well...it is ok since everything you see on the western media is never good news, things are blown out of proportion, everything with negative view.......
yee4elton 3 years ago
sorry I was wrong, I meant only minor group in Tibet wants independent, most western people like you want Tibet become independent. There're sooo many Tibetans who live or work everywhere in China. ( It is okay if you don't know - cause you are not a Chinese ) If Tibet really became independent: What will happen to Tibetan? Getting a work visa to continuse to stay in "China"? go back to Tiban?? Anything in Tibet to support their economically?
yee4elton 3 years ago
Tibetan are not even chinese, how the question of tibetan being one of ethnic chinese came? Having tibetan boyfriend or girlfriend doesn't justify that they have similar political attitude. I dont 'have personal hatred toward chinese but chinese must stop their stingy policy toward tibetan. All chinese personnel and army and their brutal action on Tibet represent the sick motivation of CHINA as a whole. (You sound like a gold medal should never be represented by country but by the athlete only)
dude4u45 3 years ago
Thanks for not hatred toward Chinese. When you mean "Chinese must stop their stingy policy toward Tibetan", The communist party can't represent the 1.3 billion of Chinese. It is the Communist troops suck. Think of our people instead of the political side. Again, Han, Tibetans and any other minority groups, we are all equal.
yee4elton 3 years ago

No democracy, no freedom of speech..By the way, you keep on saying Black is White..
dude4u45 3 years ago
no problem...I also need a break. Here my last reply: We have to be clear China does not equal the Communist party and the Communist party cannot represent the Chinese people. Many of us want democracy.....want freedom....I hope you won't mess things up
yee4elton 3 years ago
Regarding to your suggestion...um...my history is okay...( History got C+ in H.k.C.E.E ) but regarding to "suggest not read the one that is fabricated by communist chinese" - That one can't apply to me though...I'm a Hong Kong permanent resident born in HK, education system here based on British mode...nothing to do with communist ( not sure it will changed about in 10 years?? )

Your comment doesn't prove that you have a great knowledge on Tibet and its history. No wonder after reading your all comment I could say you are one of those communist brain washed comic.
dude4u45 3 years ago
well afterall, my point is just China does not equal the Communist party and the Communist party cannot represent the Chinese people and Tiben could not be independent. haha....communist brain washed...that makes me laugh. we humans have a funny way of judging other countries for what we think is non standard.....
yee4elton 3 years ago
having left so much here, but actually our arguement are pointless, since you definately know not much about TIbet either while keep yelling I am brainwashed.
yee4elton 3 years ago
i really wanted to end this.

( Kim Lewis, who studied healing methods with a Buddhist monk in Berkeley, California, had occasion to talk at length with more than a dozen Tibetan women who lived in the monk's building. When she asked how they felt about returning to their homeland, the sentiment was unanimously negative. At first, Lewis assumed that their reluctance had to do with the Chinese occupation, but they quickly informed her otherwise )

dude4u45:
your a smuck...
The UN did recognise Tibet as a part of China.
We have only this UN to recognise states, even we cannot agree those decisions. Besides, Tibet was part of China until China erupted in chaos during the twenties. So one cannot argue that Tibet was never part of China.
lookatthere 3 years ago
lookatthere:
UN can recognize Tibet as a Sovereign Nation tomorrow if China understand the interest of Tibetan people. No tibetan wants to live under biased brutal chinese rule. There is no proof that Tibet was part of china but infact Tibet was an independent nation prior to communist invasion in 1959. End of the Story....

You have just made yourself a fool here!
You show me that you hardly know much about China or you are a 13 years old. Turn off your damn tv and pick up a book, go exercise, do something to better yourself. No wonder most of us British think you are arrogant fools. U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.A! Unbelievable...

oh my fucking god, why the hell did you make such a big deal out of this?
icerink99 3 years ago 3
Big deal? I just made a video. How is that a big deal? It was probably a bigger deal to 1.3 billion Chinese people who were cringing while watching the symbol of the country being displayed improperly.
